I have following situation:
- broken screen and touch is not working
- usb debugging is off
- password pattern lock combination when entering phone
I need to backup contacts and pictures from phone somehow and I don't know how.
When I connect mobile phone to computers with usb cable it only gives me zte usb drivers to install nothing more, after that I don't see my phone..
Is there any solution to extract contacts and pictures from my phone???
Is there any solution thru recovery mode to update/install something to give me option to backup everything(contacts/pictures) from phone ???
If someone could please help I would be grateful...Thanks
Hi, thanks in advance for helping.
This is the situation.
I want to backup as much as possible items from my phone since it's broken, but:
- The screen is broken
- Device is locked
- USB debugging is DISabled.
I already searched a lot and tried the cmd adb commands to unlock it, but since usb debugging is disabled my device is not found..
I also tried to unlock my device using findmymobile, but somehow it won't unlock it.
I am now able to get Kies to recognize my phone (using recovery mode) and Kies of course noticed my device is locked.
Before I go to the store and buy that OTG cable, I was wondering if there is any way to change the registry of Kies and trick it into thinking my device is not locked. Sorry if this is a really weird question to ask.
OR is there any other way I can unlock my phone from my laptop? I know the pin code, so that is not the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there, the title explains most of it, I'm trying to control the phone with k.janku1's control tool, here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
The phone has USB debugging enabled, is in MTP mode and ADB will find the device fine when I'm in recovery but when I reboot the device ADB won't find the device when it's turned on. I don't know if I'm being stupid or not! I also have all the drivers installed etc

Never used that tool (I did not even heard of it before) but I do rely and suggested to all of my mates to test Chrome extension Vysor, so you could give it a try.

I can't get Vysor to detect the device, I have USB debudding enabled but I'm not able to use the device at all as the digitizer is broken

Ah, I've just read Vysor's troubleshooting guide, it says to be on PTP but I'm on MTP
Is there a known way to change to PTP from MTP with a broken digitizer? I can still see everything on the screen as it's just the digitizer thats broken so I can use recovery via using the volume buttons & power button

There is no problem with MTP, only changing the mode may help to detect some devices. If you are on Windows I strongly suggest you to download latest USB drivers. Eventually check your setup with another android phone.

I'm sorry to know that and I would suggest you to try and contact the developer as I can't help further except for checking with another phone to be sure the computer side is OK.
Hello, so I got this phone which has a broken screen, but otherwise it can connect to a pc, so its not completely broken, but before I atempt to replace the screen I would like to test the phone by mirroring it's screen to pc, but unfortunately USB debugging is disabled, since using adb devices lists no devices. Im using chrome and vysor app for chrome, it works on my other phone with debugging enabled.
The A5 supposedly has stock firmware installed, but the user is not sure which version. Is there a possibility of enabling usb debugging via some patch using odin? does chainfire root maybe auto enable debugging?
I'm sorry if a similar thread exists, but I couldn't find it unfortunatley, if it does, please post link, or help otherwise if you know how, thank you.

Hi all,
My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935FD) has broken screen after a drop. The screen is black or flickering with green, but I think that it still reacts to touch. The firmware was upgraded to Oreo stock very recently, and the phone is not password or pattern protected. USB debugging is disabled (it has never been enabled) and the phone is OEM protected, so flashing a custom recovery with ODIN doesn't work (I tried). I'd like to backup the data, and I need to find a way to enable USB debugging for that. I see two options:
- Boot into maintenance mode to activate USB debugging in spite of the black screen, using physical keys. The thing is that I can't seem to boot into maintenance mode with that version of the phone following instructions found online (maybe this maintenance mode is specific to some versions or carriers, or am I missing something here?).
- Blindly activate USB debugging using an external keyboard. To do that, I would greatly appreciate help from one of you to know the exact sequence of keys.
Hope I can get this working!
Thanks
No one with a keyboard and OTG adapter to help me on that?
Thanks!
