Recently Uninstalled Gone? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, i would have sworn i saw this advertised at some point on the V20 for a section where you can view recently uninstalled apps. Now that i have the device i can't seem to find it. Could this be one of the things Verizon stripped from the phone?

Yeah see Verizon customers have apps on our devices. We have App manager and under the three dots there's no uninstalled apps.. There's is "uninstall apps" which of course allows you to uninstall apps

Yes.. Why you ask?

Isn't nougat supposed to have a feature where you uninstall am app but it holds the data for 24 hours and deletes it after 24h if you don't reinstall the app? Nougat right?

Nope. Not the issue here. How you liking the device?

I have the option available, but the list is always empty for me. Is there something I need to do to turn on keeping the recently uninstalled apps?

Or AntTek App Manager, free.
You can natively freeze them with ICS, in your app drawer (stock TW Launcher) drag the app icon to app info, and click disable
I removed them. No need to freeze if your plan on not using them. Free up internal space.

From your app drawer, click and hold on the program you want, and it should take you to your home screen....at the top you should see "App Info". Drag the app icon onto that and it'll display the info you need.

hrmm...maybe it's because I haven't had my morning tequila shot yet but I don't see any such app info icon when I do what you're saying. I go to the app drawer, click and hold an app, it takes me to the home screen, but there's nothing anywhere that says app info.
Could this be something that's not on the ATT version of the phone?
::edit:: ok...I'm an idiot. I found it....but it's at the bottom of the screen, not at the top.
I just disabled them except for samsung account which I use for Samsung Dive.

I had to uninstall updates and then disable became an option.
Using the app info method works great if you are not rooted.
In the event you are rooted, using TB is easier. both work without any issues for all listed apps in the op.

No sir. You can do this with most of the pre-installed carrier software. I believe the option is "disable". When you see it you'll know what I mean. In fact it was the one thing that made me think that I wouldn't have to root my phone. Then I quickly got annoyed by the T-Mobile startup and shut down sounds. Can someone please tell T-Mobile to leave the standard start up and shut down sequence alone. I mean expect that from Verizon; Have you heard any of their phones start up? They're crazy obnoxious.
Great feature! You can also go to settings-applications-all and do or that way. Just uninstall updates and then you will have the disable button. Thanks for the top all.

I wonder how this would compare legally to fingerprint/pin lock in regards to being compelled to unlock your device.

Don't think it would be any different than the other "trusted" options like face, location, and on-body. They are just smart compliments to backup pin/pattern locks.
Has anyone here received this update yet? I've been anxiously awaiting its arrival or been searching for an APK download. Looking forward to trying it out.

it would have to be fixed/enabled in the rom. but you might have a temporary solution, if it still works. i started a thread last year about this, and not working on aosp roms. until we finally found a solution to it(just some missing files in aosp source). check out the thread, yes its old now, but you might find a temporary solurion in there that will work for you. and please ask, thats the only way we will find out if its the rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/ok-google-everywhere-aosp-rom-t2963716

Always On Display got really dark lately

I have auto-brightness and battery saving disabled, but for some reason Always On Display just gets really dark either immediately after locking the device, or after few seconds. This hasn't been the case for over a month I've owned the phone, so wondering if this is a new version of AOD issue (1.1.22)?
Anyone has a fix or more information on the subject?
Can you uninstall the update and see if it goes back to the way it was. Samsung may be trying to reduce battery use by AOD.

Is there a way to roll back the Always On Display to an earlier version? How can I do that?
Yes, it's the latest version of AOD that does this. Now that the reviews of the S7/Edge are all done, Samsung can finally update their phones to their intended versions

If you go into the Application manager, and find AOD, you should be able to uninstall it, which will revert to the original version.

OMG, I had the same thought. Bait customers with glowing reviews then **** up the software & battery life with subsequent "updates." Is Samsung getting paid by Apple to gimp their phones? Samsung really sucks at software.

How do you stop this auto updating? There is no option under auto update Samsung Galaxy apps to disable it. Only under auto update apps is there an option to turn it off.

One updates the Galaxy Apps app itself, the second - all other apps downloaded through the Galaxy Apps. So turning off the second one is enough to disable the auto update for AoD.
@optimummind I'm really happy with the new update. The previous versions where way to light to actually use for me. This was also a complaint of a lot of people. So instead of what you say they actually listen..

I saw how lacking it was too and just D/L icons from Google that I liked since you can choose your own image for any icon. Its a lil tedious but you can really do some customization
I just Googled Camera Icon & chose something I liked.
Hope it helps
Thanks for the tip, at the time I'm using nova and icon packs from the play store
NP at all, I run Nova in my truck on my Note 4 via a Mimicsx2 module and it's customization is paramount.
V20 I only need to swap a few uglys out.
You can use QuickShortCutMaker or AppShortCutMaker to change Icons for stock launcher too without any other launcher!!
To set the new icon, you have to be sure that there is place for it on the homescreen!!!
