Or AntTek App Manager, free.
You can natively freeze them with ICS, in your app drawer (stock TW Launcher) drag the app icon to app info, and click disable
I removed them. No need to freeze if your plan on not using them. Free up internal space.

From your app drawer, click and hold on the program you want, and it should take you to your home screen....at the top you should see "App Info". Drag the app icon onto that and it'll display the info you need.

hrmm...maybe it's because I haven't had my morning tequila shot yet but I don't see any such app info icon when I do what you're saying. I go to the app drawer, click and hold an app, it takes me to the home screen, but there's nothing anywhere that says app info.
Could this be something that's not on the ATT version of the phone?
::edit:: ok...I'm an idiot. I found it....but it's at the bottom of the screen, not at the top.
I just disabled them except for samsung account which I use for Samsung Dive.

I had to uninstall updates and then disable became an option.
Using the app info method works great if you are not rooted.
In the event you are rooted, using TB is easier. both work without any issues for all listed apps in the op.

No sir. You can do this with most of the pre-installed carrier software. I believe the option is "disable". When you see it you'll know what I mean. In fact it was the one thing that made me think that I wouldn't have to root my phone. Then I quickly got annoyed by the T-Mobile startup and shut down sounds. Can someone please tell T-Mobile to leave the standard start up and shut down sequence alone. I mean expect that from Verizon; Have you heard any of their phones start up? They're crazy obnoxious.
Great feature! You can also go to settings-applications-all and do or that way. Just uninstall updates and then you will have the disable button. Thanks for the top all.

Works fine here, using LauncherPro Plus.
I chose to clear the dalvik cache before rebooting, after applying the update. Perhaps that helped me?

The screen becomes unresponsive if you touch the area left to the menu button or right to the search button. In landscape mode the area that is now under the menu button is often accidentally touched by myself and the entire screen is unresponsive. Maybe if they wouldn't had disabled multi finger touch it wouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, there have been issues quite a bit but it always seems someone is using a different launcher. Maybe there needs to be some updates to these launchers to run atop of Blur. Another I noticed is that when I download a 3rd party launcher it automatically uses that launcher as default and when i go into settings I can't remove the Default for it so that might have something to do with it. Have you also done a reboot lately? After a reboot I notice that my phone decides to check the "Stay Awake" option under Applications>Development by itself. So maybe there something to that as well.

I have others installed but I don't really mess with em. I only have em while experimenting with what launcher I wanted. But I dabble with em on occasion. But if you hit the home key and haven't picked a default it should give u the option to pick your launcher and just under the launchers is a box that says" set as default"

Yes, I'm aware of that but if you only had one 3rd party launcher installed it won't ask to set it to default. If you want you can uninstall all of your launchers til you're back to Blur and then just download one of them and then hit Home and it will automatically go to the new launcher.
You really don't have to but it does happen that way which tells me that Blur (and all the settings it holds prominence over) is easily manipulated by a different launcher. Have you noticed you can still use all the MotoBlur widgets even while using LP? Can't do that on an HTC Sense phone.

To bring that back, you hold on the screen, tap on Launcher Actions, tab Open/close App Drawer, and there you go! Access to your apps, where you can delete them!

If you are rooted I would suggest installing TI (Titanium Backup-free) and freeze the app. Sometimes nuking out apps that have interdependency can create problems. Freezing the app in TI should accomplish what you desire safely.
I believe the phone app was proven to not use the battery?
Like cell standby and phone idle under battery use was false.

Gosh. Been a while since I froze an app. I don't believe so. But as it's frozen, unless you have a butt-load of apps and scrolling through them is an issue, it really shouldn't matter. IMO.

My wife is the same way, and was getting irritated that they were in her way. I ended up installing Go Launcher EX and then was able to create a Folder in the App Drawer called SYSAPPS. I put all the unwanted system apps in there and they were out of her way. Cleaned the app drawer up nicely. Not sure if another launcher will do that, but knew Go Launcher could. She likes it now.

Using LauncherPro, you can hide any app you want. Just go
"Preferences->General Settings->Hidden Apps", choose the ones you want to hide, tap "save" and they're out of your way.
No need to go through switching launchers. or creating new catalogs. if you freeze them with titanium backup, they will disappear from the app drawer.
Don't turn off google talk, even if you don't use it. google talk must be working in order for the market to function. some other apps, if they arent installed, will filter the availability of certain apps in the market, although I am not sure if that is effected by freezing or not.
On a side note, I have read the threads about the telephone and message apps supposedly not effecting battery life, and they do spins reasonable, but I an beginning to question if theyv are right. I definitely have processes related to unused phone apsa running on my nook using memory.
The android.telephony process is shown to be running in several running apps lists, and is using 2.3 MBA of ram. I am just starting to wonder, is all...
I use both methods mentioned previously. Organize my app drawer using Go Launcher and freeze, as well as backup apps with Titanium. It's also well worth the money if you like to try different roms or tinker but don't want to loose your apps or their data.

Go to Display in your settings. Under "quick launch" you will find a few cool options. Including disable. That will remove it entirely.

Just rename in system/app the P5_ScreenCapture.apk (Mount R/W) . That will leave the icon, but accidently taking pictures will be something of the past.

I wasn't very impressed with the Note 3's battery life at first, then I went into Settings>Application Manager and disabled a whole bunch of bloatware. Also went into each app and turned off any background update and location service if we don't need it. You can do this without root. Just take a look on this board and you'll see someone has compiled a list of apps that you can disable.
The phone now runs cooler, and yesterday, we had 14h usage and 6.5 hours display on time (auto brightness). Very impressive in my book.

Turn off all the Samsung features when you're not using them like Smart Stay and Air Gesture. The sensors are always on in certain apps when you have them enabled. Turning them on and off is easily accessible via the notification toggles. But it will only slightly help, your phone should be performing better than that even with those features running. Try a factory reset if it is safe to do with the root method.

yup. was recommended that app on the s4, great app
Download the app Wakelock Detector from the Play Store.
Open it for the first time right after you unplug your phone
After some deep sleep occurs for awhile, open Wakelock Detector and select the icon in the top right to select "Wakeup Triggers"
This will show you which app waked the device when it was trying to sleep(=screen off) and how many times it waked it. Figuring out Google wakelocks will probably help you the most unless you have some poorly written or rogue app
A good start would be to remove ALL google apps that you don't use, and turn off google ads as well as notifications and scheduled checks within say...Play Store and Youtube and Gmail

I essentially hibernate everything except system apps and widgets, just to be safe. You would also not hibernate apps that you want background notifications from. I also use the donate version, which allows me take advantage of GCM. Which, for apps that use GCM, allows me to hibernate those apps and still receive notifications.
Hope that helps =]
