MOTO G4 - Amazon Version - Booting in Download Mode - Moto G4 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I tried to remove the Amazon Lockscreen and Apps using the instructions in "MOTO G 4th Gen How to Remove the Amazon Lock Screen Ads and Bloat Ware" thread.
It didn't work, as the firmware was updated to MPJ24.139-64.
But now , I have a strange issue, everytime I reboot the phone, it reboots to "Download" mode. If I press the power button (while displaying "Start") then it boots normally. No issue.
But it is really annoying that I have to go through that extra step.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks again for looking.
[SOLVED] - This issue was solved by re-flashing the AMZ firmware again. See the instructions in link below:

Hi,
If you don't know the model #, then don't flash...
I read that Hard Reset of the device is needed, by pressing and holding the volume up and down keys simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, when you reach the error screen

I tried to hard reset, enter bootloader mode, enter recovery mode but its all in vain. Moment phone goes to bootloader mode for enter into fastboot it restarts.
By pressing Volume up + Power it takes me to recovery mode there it shows error and again restarts.
Even its not getting connected to pc cause it restarts continuously and in this situation how can I know which model it is and how can I flash new version.
All this happened after Marshmallow update.
Please come up with some solution else this is just a paper weight.
I have the same issue, after Marshmellow update my Priv keep restarting and continuous doing that until the batTrey drain. The phone also heats up and can't find a solution. Tried all kind of reboots but nothing works.
Hoping for a solution before the phone dies completely.
Same issue since 2 days ago
Hello,
I also have the same issue with the PRIV. I spoke with BB Support. They told they will contact me by after 24 hours. I don't know if there won't be any valid warranty since it is an unlocked phone.
Have you find any solution for this?
Please someone help!!
this is because of a wrong flash, you need to use the autoloader appropiate for your unit, with device in fastboot mode run the autoloader, if you do not know your version download all available and flash them, if it is not valid for your unit it wont flash or it wont work, if you swap files to try to bypass and install mm on ll device like att it wont work neither, i have tested this and it works no matter if you swapped files from other autoloaders or not as long you use the correct one your device will be back to life
Same error here...
But if I try to enter fastboot mode (vol-), it reboots after 2-3 seconds...tried also 32 seconds of power on button....any idea?
Thank you,

Thanks for the tip,
I tried to flash it with one autoloader days ago. It just didn't succeed. The screen went black with unceasing blinking green light.
I kept the contact wit BB Support. They just washed their hands. They told me to go to the Rogers Store where I just bought the PRIV to ask them for a replacement. This is kind of impossible, since I live in Mexico and when the device was bought was on a trip to Vancouver. Yesterday I just plugged in my laptop the phone with the autoloader running hoping something happens. So I left it at home for several hours. When I came back, it was just as before, restarting over and over and over until fastboot menu. So I just gave another try to the autoloader, but it just happened again. Now it remains in black screen and with the green led light blinking. I tried several button combinations over and over just to get to the fastboot menu with no success.
I can't make it to bring up the loading screen and neither fastboot menu.
I guess it was because picking a wrong autoloader for flashing the PRIV. I downloaded another autoloader for trying.
Please help with this.
My PRIV is the STV100-3.
The first autoloader I tried is the Rogers Canada or Orange Slovakia – STV100-3 & STV100-4 - AAF057 Software Version
The second I want to try is the BlackBerry common SW for generic STV100-1, STV100-3 & STV100-4 devices - AAF518 Software Version
This is the link where I got them:

if the autoloader solution does not work then you need to force manually the unit into flashboot (google how to force fastboot)
then try to flash each content from the img into the device manually same as the nexus devices
the autoloader should be able to recover your device
this is the reload instruction website
http://support.blackberry.com/kb/articleDetail?articleNumber=000038083
this is where the autoloaders reside
http://ca.blackberry.com/content/bl...pport/smartphones/blackberry-PRIV/reload.html
make sure your device is physically an STV100-3 or 4 it is basic to have the proper version

Hi nicromant.
After several hours I wrote my last comment, the phone showed the fastboot mode, restarting over and over without showing the BB Logo, but only the fastboot menu, constantly rebooting.
Next, I tried to reload the OS via autoloader again. But then my phone again was in black screen with green and white blinking light.
Then I tried to manually force it into fastboot with the Android SDK Tools, but nothing happens.
When I introduce "adb devices" command, it won't show any connected device in the PC.
So I don't know what else I can do.
Please help!
Thanks in advance.
I just had this problem. Took it to the tmobile store i bought it from and they told me it was fried hardware. The phone keeps trying to reboot and fix itself but obviously it can't happen. Their solution? Get a new phone. I had a 2 year warranty and apparently the priv has been having so many problems that the store was offering a trade up deal to a samsung. Hopefully a store near you is doing the same, because thats probably your only option at this point if it's the same problem as mine.

Try to install the appropiate ADB and fastboot drivers it is why your pc is unable to see the device, check on device manager if you have it setup properly, unfortunately i do not have a priv anymore (i change devices every 1 or 2 month)
I have same problem with my Priv from AT&T (100-1). It failed to boot after autoloader. it does not turn on. Just LED flashes: White one flash, then Green 3 flashes. and again. I can not force it into fastboot menu anymore holding Power plus Vol down or any other combination.
Need help! Thanks
after updating with this loader
https://bbapps.download.blackberry.com/Priv/bbry_qc8992_autoloader_user-common-AAG191.zip
i also cant boot the phone it just show me 4 options on screen but keep on coming back to it no matter what i select
Hold power & vol down both for 32 seconds for a real HARD reboot...

I had the same issue quite suddently with no warning. Phone just shut itself off (in a manner similar to what happens when you long press the powre button) Spent hours wondering what to do. Finally Thought the power button was stuck. I slipped a long finger nail into the gap where the power button contacts the phone electronics (dont know how to be clearer than this) to try and separate the power button and whatever it touches when you press it. After a couple of tries, The phone started up successfully. It appears to be a design issue
I FIXED IT!
Same issue as described, bootloop after 10 seconds.
I used electrical tape under and over the flat cable of the power button, also covered the "inner" power button with this.
Now it works for already 1,5 hours and is loading updates.
Also posted this as nes3Ah in crackberry forums, but it has to be released by a mod.
Good luck!

VNS L21 Nougat C432B336 working and not working stuff

Hello all, i am planing to describe all good and not working things about this Nougat version i found and also process i did to install it.
I would be grateful if someone can help me resolve not working things or maybe this will help developers fix them.
First, one month ago, i unlocked and rooted my phone because i wanted some additional features. TWRP was installed and worked like it should. I did not unroot phone.
Yesterday, i downloaded those 2 files needed for Nougat 336 update. I used DLOAD method.
Steps i did was:
1. Put BOTH files on SD car in dload folder.
2. Power off phone.
3. Enter TWRP via Power + Volume down button.
4. Flashed 1st (Update.zip) file and got some red line errors. (Because i read it is normal i went further).
5.Flashed 2nd file WITHOUT reboot. All was done in 1 or 2 mins, and no loading and installing screen was shown, just rebooted normally.
6. Huawei logo showed and phone start normally with nougat update (1. December security patch).
Good things i noticed while few hours of testing:
1. Better battery life
2. Twin apps working
3. App drawer working
4. System is a bit faster (apps load and work faster)
5. Less ram is used (900-1000 MB free when cleaned)
THING THAT DON'T WORK AND I NEED HELP TO GET THEM TO WORK:
1. Camera app show black screen, than shut down and restart itself. That happens all the time until i close it with square button and click on trash can. SO CAMERA NOT WORKING. I even tried some apps from app store. App works but screen is full black.
2. I have no Huawei stock apps like clock, alarm, stopwatch, calendar, calculator, file manager, not even stock sound for ringing nor message etc. They are MISSING FROM PHONE apparently.
3. Problem with sound manage. Those bars that regulate sound dont work very well. I put my Ringtone bar to MAX and i hear phone ringing and SMS sound but I dont hear app sound like Viber or Messenger sound.
4. "MOST IMPORTANT ONE": I thought maybe 2nd file did not install normally so i tried to enter TWRP again and flash it again, but I CANT ENTER TWRP!
I pressed Power+ Volume down like 10 times, I tried Power - Volume up too, even all 3 buttons, nothing happens. Just Huawei screen and phone boot up normally. When i did 3 buttons EMUI screen appeared and it said, installing updates, went to 5% and wrote: FAILED, Reboot phone.
So now i cant flash ANYTHING again. Can someone help me with this thing please. Maybe many other people will find this thread helpful.
Thank you.
Hello
I think best and remake to own.
It seems to me that the
MM recovery solution, is written at the bottom of this post. Http://forum.xda-developers.com/hua...t/android-7-emui-5-0-vns-l31-l21-l23-t3513816.
To install nougat b336, maybe you should follow the original post also that is also written down this post.
your bootloader is locked
did you face nfc and bleutooth not working in that case what may i do to fix the problem and thanks in advance

TWRP recovery disappeared

Hello!
my recovery mode was working just fine this morning since I used it to flash the Google pixel experience flashable file found here https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...her-dialer-t3478907/post70814928#post70814928
except that i had a little problem with the google app, so OP suggested flashing a certain file (also found in the thread but here is a direct link for the file in question) that solved my problem indeed but it was the last file I was able to flash, not sure if that had anything to do with it and i honestly doubt it is the cause.
recieved an update from lineageOS 14.1 nighty build downloaded it and pressed "restart and apply" from the notification, my phone does a normal reboot. didn't work? no problem close the phone and press volume up + power button + home button simultaneously until you see booting in recovery.
I did see the blue message in the top left corner as usual but then my phone just reboots into system .
I really don't know what is happening but it looks like the phone didn't find any recovery to boot into so it just boot in system.
any way to solve this issue? is it safe to try and flash TWRP again with odin?
thank you all in advance and i hope I will hear from you soon.
phone: galaxy S5 SM-G900F
OS: lineageOS 14.1-20170125-NIGHTLY-klte
i cant see why flashing TWRP in Odin mode wouldnt work, but im honestly not sure

Help: G4 Plus won't start after accidentally hitting "Open" on icon pack install.
I got this phone literally yesterday, it's unrooted, worked perfectly fine until my hand slipped when installing an icon pack from the play store and I hit "Open" - the phone immediately crashed, and now will not boot. I've tried using standard power on, powering on through the recovery bootloader, and entering recovery mode through said bootloader, in every instance it displays the Motorola startup screen, plays through its sequence of animations, then as soon as the Lenovo brand icon shows on screen emits one long pulse of vibrate and then turns off again.
I can't pull the battery because I don't have the required micro-hex screwdriver. Can anyone help?

can you reboot to bootloader and start recovery? Then clear cache and see if it helps to boot your device? Or if not make a factory reset if it won't help. Maybe the icon pack screwed up something.
Report back. After that, if nothing worked, you can try this:
Is your device recognized by fastboot? If yes, try "fastboot devices" and see if it shows serial number.
Then try to flash the latest stock in the following guide rom if you have one of this devices https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138

Hi, thanks for responding. After four or five attempts to boot into recovery it succeeded; wiping the cache did nothing so I did a factory reset, which worked and now the phone will boot to the setup stage. Unfortunately now I'm getting "The device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device.", which after googling seems to be a security feature - the problem is it doesn't accept the google account credentials, every time I enter them it just cycles back to the "This device was reset..." screen again.
I know I'm not getting the details wrong since I made the account specifically for the phone and have the details written down. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
EDIT: Actually nevermind, I managed to follow along with a tutorial on how to bypass it using MotoService & ADB. Thanks again for replying.

Need help with Moto X Style DS

I got a used Moto X Style dual SIM yesterday. The model number seems to be XT1570. The bootloader turned out to be unlocked. I immediately flashed the latest TWRP and got a backup of stock ROM.
I've downloaded a few custom ROMS and they all seem to flash alright and the phone appears to be working perfectly.
The trouble starts whenever I flash Gapps along with the ROM. What happens is during phone initial setup, the screen goes black with only the back button visible which does not appear to work. Thankfully the power button does work and I'm able to power off the phone and boot back into recovery and/or bootloader etc.
Since I'm new to the Moto X scene (but not new to the Moto scene), I'd appreciate if anyone could shed some light on what seems to be going on here?
Thanks!
PS I suspect I might have the Chinese variant. If so there any way to un-Chinese this thing?
