dear all,
My Galaxy A510 FD behaving strange. It randomly drops the data connection signal when running at dual sim but works fine when i turn off one sim. In dual sim mode the data connection start working after a flight mode but again behave same after some time. Please suggest some solution for the said problem because i have to use both sims togater

I have witnessed something similar with an older samsung duos phone. The problem i noticed was due to the differences on network of both carriers.
I dont remember well if i turned it off or on, but fast dormancy was the issue, but it sucked way too much juice after.
Anyway, this may be just a bug, and i would consider updating to a newer build/version, no matter the region, it could've been noticed and fixed.

the security patches wont affect anything, the october one is arleady on the PJ1 release present.
By any chance, do the sim's differ in age? Try exchanging the older sim to a new one, usually carriers do this at a very low cost and in under 5 minutes.

the problem is solved......... Last night after installing the November security patch the problem is solved.. Till now i didn't experience any 4g data drop even with both sims are on at same time. I believe that there is something in security patches to solve the issue. 3 month before i was feeling much lag in games which was fixed in September security update. Anyhow thanks friends for your precious feedback..

I have an issue where the network suddenly dissapiars when I using 3g data and is back withing few seconds.
I dont think this is an issue with the phone but rather with the vodafone network as the problem started when I went on WCDMA mode from auto mode now I have switched back to auto mode to see whether the problem still exist.
Has anyone else experience the same problem
My gt-i9505 switch permanent from H to H+ and get connection issues or no network error the problem is my german provider 1&1 (vodafone Network)doesn't Support Fast Dormancy i think this causses the problems anyone figured out to disable FD on galaxy s4 without root?
Gesendet von meinem GT-I9505 mit Tapatalk 2
Yes the same thing happens to me I guess its an issue that will be sorted out soon
So no one else from India has faced the same issue ???
I got the same problem with vodafone and i9505 in italy.
I'm actually looking for the code to disable fast dormancy but nothing found at the moment.
Code *#9900# doesn't have the fast dormancy selection in GS4
My issue is also on a Vodafone Network in India unfortunately at first i thought it was a problem with my cell phone but i am pretty sure it is issue with the vodafone 3g network and the way the phone interacts with it.
Yes you're probably right.
Really strange that also GS2 GS3 and Note phones have the same problem and samsung surely knows this behaviour of their firmware. If never has changed till now, I think we have almost no chance of getting an update from samsung.
Never had this issue with my S3, and I'm seeing this behavior on both AT&T (US) and Chunghwa (Taiwan)... with the exact same SIM cards even! There is something really wrong with either the S4 or my handset...!

I wanted to chime in. I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 and I've noticed the same issue with 3g suddenly disappearing and then coming back within a few seconds. I don't ever recall it happening too often with my Galaxy S3. Strange..
Any solution to this its a piss of that I can't use my phone properly also I bought this from eBay called samsung canada they said it's not covered under warranty because I didn't purchase it through a authorised retailer. F**k samsung
I have experienced the same issue since the first date I bought my i9500. Tried different modems but the issue is there. I have to turn airplane mode on and then off to get signal back. It's not a carrier issue. I had the same problem using different SIM cards. Hope they fix it soon.

I find it odd that there certainly is a group of us i9500 users on here experiencing this, but not more people reporting it. Like I mentioned, I'm using the exact same SIM cards as I used on my S3 i9300, and after extensively using them in my S4, I see the exact same network loss issue on their respective networks. Definitely not SIM or carrier related...
Could there be a lot of defective i9500's out there, and we're just the unlucky bunch?!? For what it's worth, my i9500 was purchased from Expansys-USA and was a Latin America model.
You should consider a Samsung related problem. I read a lot of forum and the problem was present in i9300 and i9100 too.
I never had a single network data loss with my previous LG-P990 and now I have a lot of network data loss with the new i9505 in the same locations.

You're not reading very well, we had zero issues with our previous Samsung devices on the exact same SIMs on the exact same networks (mine being a Galaxy S3).
I'd like to keep the wild theories at a minimum and try and get some empirical data on this issue from actual users.

How bad is it for you guys can you still make phone calls or use data. I cant do either i lose service about every 25-30 seconds. Hoping samsung replaces this or comes out with a fix.
its the modem firmware i believe. this always happened during first batch of release.

You right, I'm sorry. Reading too much faster for me :silly:
I really hope that's a modem firmware related problem, but I don't understand why a similar problem becomes on every new phone model. Samsung restarts the firmware development from zero every time for a new phone? I hope no.

Probably a provider issue due to bad coverage. Have you tried inserting a simcard of a different provider from a friend/relative to see if reception is better or tried reception on other locations with your simcard?

i tried inserting my simcard on another phone more specific an iphone 4s, and the iphone does get 3g, also i inserted in the s4 the simcard from a friend and it gets 3g for a short period of time but then it goes to edge again.
I too have a similar problem although I think mine was down to stupidity!
Anyway, try setting the Network to either 3G or 2G/3G only and not 4G/3G/2G. That's fixed it for me anyway!

I caveat by saying the forum would not let me post anywhere but the general forum right now so that's why I'm posting here.
I've read a bunch of conflicting threads and info lately but nothing concise in regards to what I'm trying to do and need some help.
This is my first ever android phone. I'm coming from an iPhone 6 as a heavy business user. WiFi Calling is extremely important because my house has terrible cell reception. I recently purchased an SM-G935FD (duos phone) and I'm a USA AT&T customer. I rooted the phone day one but had not yet swapped the SIM card. I chose the DUOs because I do quite a bit of international travel and I liked the hardware of the XYNOS platform better than snapdragon. Unfortunately I didn't realize or suspect that WiFI calling would potentially become a problem. I could care less about Samsung or Apple Pay for that matter, nor do I really care about Voltos. But wifi calling is a deal breaker.
I rooted the phone, and I put flash fire on there but really don't know how to use it. I found some people saying that my phone can accept both the SM-G935F firmwares and FD firmwares, but others who were skeptical. And people saying that there were firmwares that did have wifi calling enabled and others who said no.
At the moment I am back on the iPhone 6 because the Samsung is useless to me until I figure out how to get wifi calling enabled on there.
So... I'm confused. IS there a firmware I can flash my rooted unlocked S7 that will enable this? How exactly do I go about doing that with either flash fire or smart switch? I looked, but I am having difficulty finding a guide on doing this. The phone is already a paperweight, but I don't want to brick it as well lol.
Thanks for the help.

Actually I think I got it figured out. I changed the CSC using TWRC over to an att USA CSC and that seems to have at least enabled the menus for this functionality. I haven't moved the SIM back over there to test it though.

I would move this thread to the AT&T specific section. My understanding is that specific drivers are needed to do WiFi calling on AT&T and it's not baked in and the model you bought is not sold in the states whether it's sim unlocked or not. Also, why would you root/jailbreak a phone running an OS that you have no real experience with? If you can't get it to work then I'd return it and either buy the AT&T version outright an have them unlock it for you or go to Best Buy, Amazon or Samsung themselves and buy the single sim unlocked version. You may still have issues with that unlocked version if AT&T's Wifi calling is as locked up as I remember. T-Mobiles wifi calling works with your handset but it also has oddities such as the TMO sim must be in sim slot 1 to work. Because that model is not normally used with U.S. carriers .. they kinda don't give a crap about it so the work is on you.
Since this is your first Android phone .. I don't want you to think this is a problem with the OS or even with Samsung. It's just how things work. Apple allows carrier specific network files to be pushed to iOS where that's not the case with Android. I think maybe backup and stop hacking on things would be a good piece of advice. Take it for what it is. I just would like to prevent another iOS switcher from running around saying Android suck because things didn't go the way they thought would.
Cheers.

Ok slow down. I don't think any of that at all regarding saying or
Thinking android sucks nor would I make such a conclusion. Lol. Also couldn't put the thread there, wouldn't let me create a thread over there (said im "too newb")
I'm a LONG time older comp sci major who works for a software company and has been doing consulting for a number of years. All day every day I deal with every software imaginable. It just HAPPENS that this is my first android phone, and Therefore is not that familiar to me yet. The only reason I had an iPhone and idevices (all jailbroken) in the first place was because at the time, my company was locked to Apple mobile devices. I'm actually simultaneously working with piemessage to try and get a VM up and running to allow me to use iMessage on Android
Also I understand their may be some nuisances of screwing with other packages and drivers. I did do the CSC update and that "enabled" at least the menus and the ability to turn the features On. Whether or not it's working, I have no idea. Without a SIN card inserted however, I was able to place a cal using google hangouts dialer without any issue whatsoever, but as that is a different app then the actual phone dialer... I'm not sure if that proves anything. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but making a wifi cal through Hangouts Dialer connected to my google voice number without a SIM card inserted is different than dialing a number using the phone app.
Unfortunately, the only real way for me to test it, is to take the SIM back out of my iPhone, call att again and have them switch the IMEI again. At least google voice wouldn't configure properly until I did that and it took forever to get the call forwarding reset. And my problem is I'm going on a business trip tomorrow and don't have the time to be swapping SIM cards back and forth.
Maybe I'll just put it in letter without calling AT&T and see if it works anyways. Are there any prevalent icons up at the top to indicate it's a wifi call being made vs a cell call?

Yeah, ya never know what folks know.
I've just encountered a lot of folks who are smart techies who have used iPhones for a long time and Android frustrates them and then they freak out. My bad. I apologize.
I still think you need to check the AT&T specific section. I've read that the proper support for AT&T's wifi calling isn't baked into AOSP like T-Mobile has theirs baked in. This could have changed but I don't think so. The other calls ie. Hangouts, Google Voice and Skype aren't controlled by AT&T so I would assume they'd work regardless. The wifi calling registers with AT&T's servers/routers ... what they require for this handshake I'm not entirely sure. I know that when I tried it out using my Nexus 6P it didn't work out of the box but I didn't spend a lot of time on it either.
Ah. I get you about the business trip thing. It's why I bought the unlocked S7E .. I have to swap to often when traveling. I did this after I bought the version you have. I found that 1 sim slot would do LTE/3G/2G and the other was stuck on 2G only and that it would random switch from sim 1 to sim 2 when I was in the States with my personal TMO sim and my work AT&T simcard. It was too irritating so now I just expense the TMO account and gave back the AT&T sim. Not an option for everyone .. I get that.
Also, I did read that AT&T likes to jack folks around on speed when it's not one of their phones and there is a fix involving the EMEI number being changed in your account .. I can't remember where on XDA I found that trick but I'm sure a search will find it for you.
Hope you get it working. The S7E is a nice phone.
Safe travels. Cheers.

What was your result? I'm in the same boat, thought this model would be useful for business trips. Also need Wi-Fi calling at home, but no dice.
How many people are having the LTE issues?
Samsung had me reset my Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings to try and fix the issue. Of course that didn't help. What does my Bluetooth and WiFi settings have to do with Cellular service? I think they are grasping because there is an actual defect in the phone. I purchased it directly from Samsung but I'm on Sprint. Sprint has acknowledged an issue but I didn't get it through them so I'm out of luck. When you spend over a thousand dollars on a phone, you expect it to work. I had two dropped calls this morning while driving in an area that has service. The phone is basically unusable unless you are on Wi-Fi. (at least with mine) I have a Galaxy s10 +

Same here with my Sprint Galaxy S10 Plus I'm Roaming 95% of the time and when LTE does kick in nothing loads. So I have to use Wi-Fi.
Exynos S10+ on T-mobile, no LTE issues on my model.
I mean, there is 3 totally different modems (exynos, qualcomm lte and qualcomm 5g), putting the title as all versions is novice at best, and click bait at worst.
Also something to keep in note, Sprint acknowledging a fault doesnt necessarily mean there is a fault or that it is a known issue, its just "good" customer service, they simply cant troubleshoot with the level 1 support, so its easier just to replace your device.
Anyway no issues with my Exynos (G975F) in Brazil with dual sim

No, there is an issue with the Sprint version of the phone
No LTE issues with the unlocked on T-Mobile...
I've been having issues with my Unlocked S10+ on ATT. About every other day I lose my data but it still shows LTE, and this notification pops up. I don't get my data back until I restart my phone 1 or 2 times..
Side note: I've been getting this notification since I got my phone at the beginning of march. ATT can't seem to help me or even give me an answer to what's going on

Sorry about that, I just assumed since it's Sprint they were all Qualcomm LTE (which of course I am on) Wish I could edit the title to give a more detailed so it's not misleading.
It's funny though, if I run a speed test, speeds are great on LTE. It's just connecting takes forever, then the connection doesn't stay.
Don't get me wrong, I love everything else about the phone.

Others have posted online with the same issue since 2015. Do a quick Google search and you'll see. Some switch to a "postpaid" plan and the issue goes away. And some didn't have any issues until getting a new phone.

You know anyone on a postpaid plan with AT&T you could possibly swap SIM's with temporarily to see if the issue persists? Not sure how often it happens, if it's only once a day it may not be a feasible option.
May be able to be resolved with AT&T's firmware?
Did your Note 9 have AT&T's firmware or was it Samsung's unlocked firmware?

I'm getting very slow lte speeds on my s10plus Snapdragon with Verizon in my house which usually has a strong connection. 6mbps is terribly slow
ADS3 update with fingerprint patch and fresh factory reset. I did not use any restore methods. Just setup from scratch

Same location just restarted my phone and downloads instantly shot up to 50mbps. Better but still not right. I shouldn't have to restart my phone every few hours to be able download at a decent speed on lte

What carrier are you on? Factory unlocked?
So, I switched from Sprint to T-Mobile and the issue followed. I figured out that when I connected to LTE it would connect to band 2 or 4. If it does, my data stops working completely. I went in and disabled bands 2 and 4 and it works now.
I think there is an actual issue with the phone on bands 2 and 4. Just my opinion....
I'm completely up to date on the software as well.

Are you still waiting for the dual sim to be turned on? I had a feeling it won't be enabled until the android 11 is available. I
from what I have heard and read from a user in the USA witn the NA version over on oneplus forum with the DP3 firmware, both sim slots are actually working in the DP3, I`m running the DP3 OS and i just tried slot 2 for the sim and it works, data and phone calls work on SIM 2!

Well at release they said "soon", then they said by the end of June, then July, then "first of august". Now not until A11 I guess because it does work in there....but at this point I expect them to disable it on NA version too just because.
No, not waiting anymore.

I'm really disappointed with this and I've been waiting. I'm either going to get a different dual sim phone or wait for A11 to come out. Waiting a few weeks after release is fine but not 6 to 8 months, which they already going to come out with a new model.
As far as I know, only DP3 in the US supports Dual SIMs. I'm using a VZW and my work TMO SIMs working fine.

How stable is DP3 for you? I might want to switch over soon to get that dual sim enabled.

I have been struggling from the begining of this issue now day 106 -- lol My views is that this is a political issue not a tech one. It is becoming very obvious to me that OP has no intention of correcting this and since every other variant is dual sim it leads me to believe this is because north american carriers do not like or support dual sim phones. OP is trying to break into the partnership game and I'm sure T-Mobile dictated the terms and removing dual sim was likely one of them. The other very disappointing thing is that OP has become strictly regional and will not sell other variants out of your region and going to places like amazon is the only option. Here is the thing if you have repair issues support will not touch your phone and offer a replacement for your sales area only. I had a 2023 and it needed fixing. I sent it to OP and the only solution they would come up with was to replace it with a 2025 so I,m back to square one, no pun intended, I now have 2 2025 and one still in the unopened box and both are for sale with a xperia 1 on it's way from hong kong. I have had 7 OP handsets and was right in there from the startup but I'm gone. The regionalization of OP has taken them into the area where there is no room for the small group who want that raw and pure unbranded phone, easy to root and a good international tool. My advise to anyone considering OP, especially in north america is to go somewhere else if you are looking for a true international phone. Their support will not help you if it needs fixing if you purchased a "world phone" variant. Maybe a class action suit would be in order but this group of disgruntled users is likely too small. Damn !!!!!!!
I have the 11 version and dual sim IS working. U.S. version btw. Crap just realized you were inquiring about the update not DP3.
