Try to disable audio visualization in lockscreen settings
I have 'display music visualiser' option there. Is it same?
I disable it. Bt after disabling it the problem is shifted from power button to fingerprint scanner, i am now having it now while unlocking using fingerprint.

It's the same when it's inside lockscreen settings. You have cos12.1?
Yes. 12.1 YOG4PAS9IG. Ur suggestion worked. Bt as i said now the issue is occuring while unlocking using fingerprint scanner. And one more thing. When song is changed in the locked mode in background the volume is decreased little bit.

I noticed that the lock screen music widget does not always appear whenever I play music on speakerphones / headphones. Sometimes it's there sometimes it's not and I am confused as to why this is happening? Is it because of certain headphones?

have you noticed a pattern? So far it doesn't appear when I'm on loudspeaker and on my headphones. If I'm using my cans it works.

I have this problem also. Except here the widget is permanently gone. I used to have it, and it suddenly it does not show anymore. I have tried rebooting the phone a couple of times with no lock. It just will not show anymore.
Anyone found out something?
I think music widget is really bad and looks out of place it needs a simplified look! I have found a way of hiding it constantly
Close music player from slide down menu what ever you call it slide from top of screen.. Have swipe to unlock (no lock code) / allow multiple widgets / then edit lock screen scroll left and the add music player as a widget then disable mutliple widgets. And it will never show up on main lock screen again
Thats my way of getting rid of it because i don't like the look of it so maybe that helps you in some way lol.
I actually like it a lot. I found it. There is a setting for playing music through the dock when docked (what kind of dock? They're all for iPhone...). If this setting is on, the music widget does not appear, even if it is not docked. Switched this setting off, and the widget came back.

Seems like I was a little quick there... It wasn't that after all. After a while the widget failed to show again. After trying a few things I could get it to show whenever I played without any headphones connected and when I plugged in my headset it did not show. But now it doesn't show at all anymore...
I give up on this. I have no clue to what's going on with this feature...

anyone experience like this?
Do you have any apps installed that control the volume on their own?

Then I have no idea, sorry. My other guess would be is that you're accidentally pressing the volume key in you pocket or something without realizing it. You could try factory resetting the phone. It can sometimes fox weird issued like yours.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
have u check the adaptive option under the settings->sound->adapt sound?
Could it be that the adaptive sound is processing at certain point of time trying to give you the best sound that its think of?
Yes, I have experienced this under the following conditions:
-Phone just purchased, unrooted, completely stock. Playing music with PowerAmp with and without the EQ/Tone/Limit features, also happened with stock music app. The effect nearly blew out my eardrums once, but it happened several times. Music would play and very suddenly there would be a violent increase in sound, almost as if an EQ crashed. Sound went back to normal after I pressed the volume rocker in either direction. I am not so sure that this has to do with Adaptive Sound because I remember experiencing the same problem before and after i configured it. Overall, incredibly annoying and dangerous for my ears.
-Phone rooted, Viper4Android installed as a user app. The same problem happens using PowerAmp, Xenoamp and stock music app, but the increase is not so violent (not sure why, yet). Marginally tolerable, but still very annoying.
I have not found a fix yet, but still keeping an eye open.
That being said, my phone has music playing almost all day every day so I probably encounter the problem more often than others. I use earbuds, headphones and my car stereo. There is a Droid-Life.com review that mentions the issue and credits it to the phone's audio jack: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/10/01/samsung-galaxy-note-3-review/
See the subsection for Audio Jack Issues. Here is an excerpt:
"Then, after a few minutes without touching anything while at full volume, the volume just explodes and you are left deafened by the surprise volume attack."
I would be interested to see if anyone reports the problem when playing music via the phone's speaker.

[Update] Looks like this is not an isolated issue. My friend's wife also facing the same problem and she sent in to reflash the unit at Samsung Care Center and the problem just disappear. My friend told me factory reset doesn't help though.
I have exactly the same issue you have. Same XXUBMJ1 ans using the device for a month now. Unknown and just reported to Samsung and was asked to walk in to get advice.
Hi.
I had this weird problem earlier today which was solved the same way it occurred; it just happened for no apparent reason. So I was listening to music through my earbuds and its volume controls were working fine. After a while I noticed that the volume wouldn't increase when I clicked the volume up button, but it would decrease when I used the volume down button. So I unlocked my phone before trying to adjust the volume using the earbuds and for some reason volume up turned on Google Now instead of turning up the media volume.
I tried to uninstall updates and turn off Google Now but that didn't help, I also restarted the phone which didn't help either. After I managed to deactivate the app the volume up button didn't give any response at all.
So I ended up just leaving it like that, but when I tested it a few minutes later it worked fine again! Just like that. I didn't do anything! I was listening through Spotify like I always do.
What kind of sorcery is this?
Hey guys
I just registered because I experienced some problems with my recently bought nexus 6p. I really like this phone but as soon as I start listening to music using headphones the bugs are invading my phone since I didn't find anything on Google I start this thread.
But let's get to my problem:
I plug in my headphones and start playing music (using blackplayer and Google music). When the screen is turned on the volume turns down itself (I can see the volume bar going down to zero like I'm pressing the button). Also sometimes the powerbutton stops working and I have to restart my phone long pressing the power button.
But also when the screen is turned out I experience some problems. One of the most annoying ones is that music stops and starts randomly (but only when headphones are plugged in!!!). The other bug is music stopping, display turns on and some female voice tells me "Bitte warten! (please wait)" and the screen is gray saying "initializing".
Has someone experienced similar problems? What could help? If you guys need any more information just tell me
I have none of these problems. Have you tried a different set of headphones?
Change your headphones or ensure that they're set up properly. I'm guessing they're wired.
I'm also running into this same issue. I have the latest updates on my phone. This happens about 25 minutes in to listening to media. I've heard that disabling "OK Google detection" fixes it. This hasn't worked for me.
Sounds like wired headphones with a faulty connection to the phones, or faulty buttons on the headphones. I have seen similar behavior with just a wired connection to an AUX Input. The connection on the wire was faulty and due to changing resistance, it looked to the phone like headphone buttons were being pressed. Could also be a fault at the headphone jack on the phone, but it was not in my case. Definitely try other headphones to help narrow down the issue.

Hello,
recently, actually 6 months ago, i bought a pair of BT headphones and i finally became pissed with random cut ofs when listening to music. I disabled the power managment thing, that in my opinion only annoys you, for spotify. But guess what it still cuts of at random but when i am watching a movie there are no cut ofs. So i think it has something to do with the power manager still trying to stop something. Any idea what should i do to fix this?
In the power management menu, hit the 3 dot menu button for further options of screen lock settings for apps. Maybe that?
Which music app are you using? Look at audio focus settings and buffer. Maybe it cuts out when a notification sounds? Also look at developer settings for anything relating to BT. I would test with more than one BT listening device too.

I use Spotify and Player Pro for music. I looked at the lock screen cleaning and I am even more confused with what is written there. English isn't my native so that might be it or its because there is bad wording.
Where can I found the "audio focus settings and buffer"?
Notifications are not it I was paying close attention to it for awhile and when it happened there ware no notifications.
About other BT devices, when I get a chance to try others I will definitely try, but I don't think it's the headphones because watching movies with MX Player works fine.
G'day Mousman, I recently encountered something very similar after upgrading to the latest B10 firmware on A2017G.
Spotify would stop after only a couple of minutes once the screen was off while playing through bluetooth. Its not the BT turning off because my car headunit shows it still connected, and if I tell the display to stay on permanently it doesn't stop.
I had my phone in Performance mode in power plan settings and all power optimistions off for spotify but had auto start on. Still no dice.
Today I changed the power plan to Smart power save and it didn't kill spotify. Only had a quick car ride home but so far so good.
Perhaps you should try switching your Power Plan to the opposite of the your current setting?
UPDATE: This really does seem to have fixed the issue for me, cannot understand why though... Anyway I feel like a factory reset would have sorted it also I've just been to slack to do one because I'm waiting for Oreo.
I am also waiting for oreo so no factory reset right now. And I have it on the smart power mode so I will try performance for a couple of days. One thing I noticed is when I change the settings for Spotify back and forth, flip the switch on and off, it works really nice for a day or so then it goes back to cutting off

Interesting, since I switched mine its been working well for the past couple of days, I hope it stays that way. Let me know how it goes for you.
I figured one thing about the audio and that is that it only happens in certain places. The other day I was at home and it never happened but it always happens in one spot when I walk home.
