Axon 7 signal issue - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Hey guys, i got the A2017G model on B05 firmware and quite often when im in the building the receiver of my call only hears every second word that i say... Most of the time it loses the signal completely and stays with no signal for about hour... Reboot doesn't help... Can someone confirm if for example firmware b03 was better or if someone have same issue?
Thank you

I'm sorry, but I can only tell you that I had no receptions issues neither on B03 nor on B05. Both work just fine like my old LG G4.

Which firmware was overall better for you i saw some people roll back to B03

I am also having issues with the signal dropping on the A2017G.
I am using the official Nougat 7.0 update, but even on the previous version, I noticed that almost always after I make a call the signal gets lost and it takes an average of 2-3 minutes before it is restored.
Sometimes I need to turn airplane mode on and off and a few times I had to do a restart.
I tried changing the settings (e.g. only use 3g, or manually select my network) but nothing helps.
Do I have to go back to an older ROM or is there anything else I can try?

Cellular Connection Randomly Stops Working

Hello,
I have the Sony Z2 on Tmobile USA, completely stock (no ROMs, or modifications).
Approximately twice a day, my Z2 randomly stops receiving calls, making calls, and accessing the mobile internet. It still shows plenty of "bars" on the reception meter, thus I have no idea that I'm not receiving calls.
When it happens, this can only be resolved with a restart, or turning on Airplane Mode, then turning it off again. The problem will usually come back within 6 hours, requiring another restart cycle.
If I have WiFi enabled when this is occurring, then I can still access the internet via WiFi, but I will not get calls and text messages. I get no indication anything is wrong, until I try to place a call and it fails.
When this happens, the "Signal Strength" meter (under "About Phone", "Status") does not change, it would read something like -95 dBm no matter where I would take the phone (even in areas of poor coverage). It appears the phone simply looses synchronization with the mobile network, but doesn't notify the user. Other phones on the same mobile carrier continue to work perfectly at the same place, so it's not a mobile carrier issue.
I've had this phone for 8 months, and this is a new phenomenon.
This is Z2 model D6503 and I am on the latest firmware (Android 4.4.4, build 23.0.1.A.0.167). Sony support said "reset the entire phone", of course.
Please share any thoughts you may have about what could be wrong.
Any input is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Most probably random software issue. If you installed any apps recently one of them could be the culprit. Uninstall them or trying booting into safe mode and see if the problem persists with continued usage.
As a last resort you can factory reset the device using the PC companion. But since the lollipop update is round the corner wait for it and see if the update fixes the bug.
If a factory rest or firmware flash doesn't solve the problem its a hardware fault, return it and ask for replacement.
I know I randomly get data drops, but I always cycle mobile data off and on to fix it. Next time it happens, I'll try to make a call to see if this is the same bug that I've having.
Quick update:
Right before the problem started, I installed the current-as-of February 2015 version of Audible on my phone.
After I uninstalled Audible, the issue appears to have disappeared (haven't seen it re-occur yet). Bizarre, but that's the situation,

Losing mobile network

I have a stock t-mobile s7 edge device. It's losing the mobile network. I've noticed it a couple of months ago - it happened a few times but recently the problem is getting worse. It already happened 3 times this week.
Seems like completely random. Sometimes I notice it after I go somewhere with weak signal or no signal at all. Sometimes when I get back to an area with good signal it reconnects and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it shows the bars and says it's connected to t-mobile but 4g doesn't show up at all. So you can call but no internet. Sometimes no signal at all.
When it happens the only way to connect is to reboot the phone. Nothing else helps. If you try to connect to network manually - it can find t-mobile but unable to connect. just spins. Changing from lte to 3g or 2g also doesn't work.
I even tried to create a new APN - same thing.
Please heeeeelp...........
Last time this happened to me on another device, it was the sim card that had a problem. Have you tried with another SIM card?
No, but I don't believe it's a sim card related problem. Wife's phone has the same problem although less frequently. But she also travels less.
It looks like a configuration / firmware or maybe hardware issue to me.
I'm experiencing the same issue. It seems to happen when the phone loses signal completely like when deep inside a building. Then it won't reconnect to data or the network by itself.
From the first moment when I got my edge back in April I noticed that the radio performance was weaker than other phones. Then I got the Note 7 and same issue again. Then back to an s7 edge and the problem seems to be worse on this one specially after the latest software update.

My wife (s7) and me (s7 edge), as well as a co-worker (s7) are having this same issue.
Before it was happening occasionally, but after the last update its happening WAY more often.
Wiping cache seems to help with frequency, but still did not eliminate the problem. Hopefully it gets fixed with an update. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to put up with it.
Edit: I forgot to add a "simple" fix I've found that works almost all the time is to turn off mobile data, turn on airplane mode, turn off airplane mode, wait for signal, then turn on mobile data. Those steps in that exact order work for me most of the time.
So I've been having the same issues as everyone stated. The only fix is to reboot the phone, but who wants to that every time. I even changed the sim card!! I wish T-Mobile would get out of their feelings and start selling more flagship phones.
I have made the decision to jump to LG V20. I hope this issue doesn't exist with the LG.
I've just got my s7 edge and I'm sort of having same problem at home got 2 bars and sometimes goes to 4 bars but also wen I called someone the line was crackling but person said could her me fine so done a wiped cache and think it's sorted it now for the time being
(Edit ~ it's done it again could hardly hear person I was talking to)

Is anyone else experiencing random signal loss?

Sometimes I'll lose signal only to have it reconnect immediately.
Here's a screen recording of it: https://youtu.be/v9skns6qntE
It all started last October 2016. My 6p is stock, rooted and I have been with Project Fi for over a year now without any issues until last Oct 2016. Out of the blue I loss my cell signal but only with T-mobile but not Sprint, nothing will bring it back until I reboot my 6P I can’t even make or receive a phone call and google Fi customer services was no help.
I updated to 7.1.1 in December’s update and all cleared up. I stop having my cell signal stopped dropping or when it does it would pick up the signal immediately, all seems good to go but, until yesterday. I loss my cell signal but this time it didn’t come back I had to reboot.
I have done some Mods with Google assistant and not much else, so I have no idea what my be causing this, hopefully Feb’s update will help.

I really hope this is fixed by the February update.
Yea its Radio related (duh huh lol). I flashed the newest radio from Jan and same crap. The ONLY radio that works consistent and NEVER loses signal is the 03.61.

Does it change bands (or carriers) when coming back up? I don't use Project Fi (AT&T) but sometimes the phone switches bands when a stronger signal is available. Have you tried the LTE Discovery app? It shows not only the band and signal strength you are connected to, but all neighbor cells and their strength. You can also quickly reset the connection to grab the strongest cell tower. Might give you some additional information. I guess you've already tried the 03.79 radio from N4F26J, rather than 03.78 on N4F26I. You may also see whether or not you can duplicate the problem on a different (non-Fi) SIM.

I'm on Metro PCS which uses T-Mobile towers. I've tried everything already, I'm on my second 6p. I RMA'd the first one for this same reason. I've tried a new sim card. The only thing that works is using radio 2.50. Some people are saying radio 3.61 and 3.72 works. I've experienced drops with those radios although not as frequent. I suggest anyone with this issue report it here: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=232089

Yup mine does that, while walking around trying to catch pokemon, I'll get No Network. It'll come back after about 15-20 seconds. Happens often in Downtown San Diego. I usually just switch from Tmobile to Sprint when that happens. Though Sprint service is weaker...
When it happens, I notice on the Signal Info app that TMobile is jumping around between LTE, HSPA, HSDPA. 2G Edge, all within a few minutes.
I am on latest factory stock image.

Where did you find 03.61 and is that specific to MM, LP, or nougat?

Happens to me too...I had the same issue with the last phone I had (HTC M8), but that was a common CM bug at the time. I'm on 03.79 radio....vendor,BL, and radio are all up to date.

Same problem with my Nexus 6P on Verizon. Cellular signal is lost and only restored by rebooting the phone. Happens 1-2 times daily. I'm on Android 7.0 build NBD91V.
So I had an interesting experience with the same thing. Was running a custom rom that is very close to stock and updated to the most recent security update. Shortly thereafter, my carrier connection would drop (didn't notice at first because if I was connected to WiFi, it would be hard to tell). Only a reboot of the phone would fix it, for often no more than an hour or 2. So I started by wiping the device. Then I went to a different custom rom. And then finally, I went back to stock using "flash-all.bat" from the factory image. But alas, the issue continued. The last thing I did, which seems to have resolved it so far (12+ hours without a disconnection), was to relock my bootloader. Just in case it helps someone else. Is it possible that the new radio + an unlocked bootloader is causing the issue?
I am it's so annoying! I've used so many Roms and it happens anyways. I've updated the radio and bootloader and still doesn't help. I'm on T-Mobile as well

For me it's band 4 I think.

no signal after phone calls

I have the A2017G model and recently updated it to Nougat 7.0 via the official update file from ZTE Germany. I had this issue from day one.
After pretty much any phone call, I have no signal (not during the call, only after) and I have to wait 2-3 minutes before it gets restored. Sometimes I have to turn airplane mode on and off or even restart the phone (the latter only a few times)
I tried changing the settings and selecting my network manually but nothing helps. I didn't have these issues with my previous phones with the same SIM. Any ideas?

Network Reception Weakened/dead (US996)

My phone suddenly started having trouble with network reception yesterday. I have relatively poor reception in my area, but I still used to have 2-3/5 bars. Now I have no reception at all. And in other areas it does have reception but I never see it go up to 5 bars. The network bar icon keeps rotating for a while and then just ends with a cross. Today even the mobile networks settings menu option was grayed out until I restarted the phone.
I havent changed anything on the phone. No problems with water or any other hardware damage happened as far as I know. The only recent things that changed were that I got a 4200mah battery (which kinda makes the back cover bulge a bit or pop open easily) and I changed the phone from whatever stock based nougat rom I had been running for the last 1.5 years to a stock based oreo rom. But both these changes happened about a week ago, and everything worked fine until yesterday.
Anyone else had a problem like this or know what this could be? I'm gonna try reinstalling the rom and restoring the previous battery but if these things don't solve it I might have to move on to something else, which I really dont want to do as nothing out there really appeals to me.
Who is your carrier? Which specific model phone do you have?
I also have problems with calling the function on my f800l. At some places, I cant make a phone call but mobile data works just fine. And if i try and keep on calling the network resets.
