Its only for the Galaxy Nexus version of ICS. If you want the APK, Tell me. I have access to a Rooted Gnexus. I've tried it on the Regular GB - Note. With that Black banding issue on the NOTE, It looks ugly as hell.

Or use CyanogenMod 9.

[Q] 4K Recording on CM11 or Theme Stock TW?

I grabbed a Note 3 yesterday with the view of running CM11 on it as I cannot stand Touchwiz.
I flashed it last night and it was running beautifully but I bought the phone as I want to film in 4K and it only goes to 1080p.
Is there a way to get 4K recording on an AOSP rom or can I modify a stock rom to match AOSP but leave the camera app intact?
My Note is rooted so I am led to believe I can replace system apps like the dialer and the messaging app and theme it so it looks like an AOSP rom, but I am not sure if I could do the reverse and install the Samsung Camera apk onto one of the custom Cyanogemod roms?
I have seen some of the themes but cannot seem to get Xtheme Engine, Xposed Installer and Unicon to play nicely together so the rom never changes properly.
Any pointers?

no chance in hell on getting 4k
in settings you should have themes install cm11 theme goto themes and install easy as that

Sorry I was talking about putting a theme on Touchwiz not in CM11 so I can almost have what I want. (AOSP apps with 4K recording as it still has the TW framework)

Use Xblast or Gravity box or Wanam Xposed -- you need to be rooted of course. You can edit to look like AOSP, use another launcher. Or alternatively check out some themes by @HS™

Thanks, that looks like something that will help me greatly. One question though, I have a N9005 and the links are for the N900T, can I use the Rom/theme on a N9005 without issue?

Sorry I thought you were using the U.S. T-mobile variant, Im not sure if it will work, you are gonna have to ask in the forum of the ROM, maybe somebody has tried it on the N9005.

I was brainstorming and had a thought about 4K recording on the Note 3 with an AOSP Rom. The Acer Liquid S2 phone also does 4K recording, could the camera be taken from that Rom and installed in an AOSP Rom as the Acer Rom is close to vanilla Android.
Would that work?

Does it require root to install?

^ No. I installed it in my unrooted phone. Both cameras work properly. Professional photos option is not available in our phone.

Tried it on AICP ROM, installs fine, the only rear video size options are 4K/1080p/720p/VGA all at 30FPS only. Slow motion option is greyed out probably because you can't change the default size of 720p 120fps. Works ok though. Quality is ok but not as good as the stock camera.

Any good Gcam for stock Rom?

Currently im in stock ROM rooted but i can't find any gcam that works good with my phone. The version i have is the fu24 one which works but not as it should for the focus side.
Suggest me a version down below for the stock ROM.

I don't think the focus on any GCam works on the stock ROM after a update. There's a kind of fix where you need to set the image aspect ratio to 16:9 for it to work. You lose a few pixels but hey, at least the camera finally works.

I've heard that yes, they work perfectly on custom pie ROMs.

so switching to 16:9 ratio, Gcam wont have Autofocus issues in stock pie Roms?
Also is trick is for gcam v5 or v6 or both?

Correct. I'm using my GCam on 16:9 on my Stock, no modification Pie ROM for a while now and have absolutely no issues. And yes, this fix works for all the GCam versions. I have both v5 and v6 and autofocus works on both.

I gave up... Installed PE with A10 everything is working way better than the stock ROM also found a overwhelmer gcam that doesn't crashes at all.

It's a bit more complicated than that but its not hard to be honest . This is the guide i followed to flash my mi a1 https://telegra.ph/Installation-Guide-For-Mi-A1-Pixel-Experience-03-26 . Take a backup of everything before flashing the ROM if something goes wrong also watch a couple videos before trying it . Good Luck

Horrendous Snapchat quality custom roms

I tried out many custom roms for the RN7, but I always have the same problem: Snapchat photos and videos looking absolutely horrendous, especially the selfie camera.
The photos taken with the stock rom in comparison do look acceptable.
This issue has kind of forced me to move back to stock everytime I want to try out a custom rom.
Is there any fix that will cause Snapchat to behave the same way on custom roms than it does on stock?

I used miuimix rom on miui 11 and it got considerably better, now I'm on PE and its just horrible again

Sorry didn't get what you are saying..

It seems that roms using the new camera blobs(like LOS 17.1) have stock quality on Snapchat without the GCam mod.
Can someone else confirm this?

Pixel experience comes with gcam installed but still snapchat camera quality is bad.

I have the same problem .i want to use pixel experience but whenever I install it i face that same problem, blurry and **** level camera quality in snapchat. And that force me to reinstall miui. Can someone please help me ?
