Urgent Help Please - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello everyone, I will make it short, yesterday I bought a s7 edge which worked perfectly until today when I decided to just restart it, it gave me FRD Error in RED. So I decided to go with a stock ROM (UK) , so I put this rom in ODIN, worked BUT there is this problem that come over and over:
1. I get a "Welcome" screen with language options. I select "English."
2. I get a "Wi-Fi" screen. I select my my wifi.
3. I get this message. "Unable to sign in to Wi-Fi AP. An unauthorized factory reset has been performed on this device. The sign-in screen cannot be accessed."
And I tried everything posible, I used only data and turn off wifi and it took me to "checking process" which never ends up checking.
Please I have been 9-10 hours on this and no IDEA where the problema is.
NOTE: The phone came with ROOT(I requested)
And also i remember a ROM Called AURORA.
THANKS

The OEM Unlock option in Developer Options had been unselected when you rebooted, you must have done this yourself otherwise it wouldn't have booted when you first started the phone after purchasing it when you powered up.
Anyway, it wouldn't have been FRD in red, it would have been FRP, which stands for Factory Reset Protection. This is to stop someone stealing a phone, factory resetting it, then selling it on or using it themselves with a new Google account. The official way of getting the phone back now is to sign into your Google account using the account information that was on the phone when you bought it, or the account details that you setup prior to rebooting. You should be able to sign into wifi in order to do this, I'm not sure why it's not allowing you to.

Don't think that works any longer, or I'll be surprised if it does given the amount of updates from Samsung since then. It's from 8 months ago.

Aurora ROM was only released yesterday. And you asked the seller for a rooted phone? So he installed a completely new ROM, only hours old, and sold it to you?
Really?!

[Q] *Can't get past initial set-up page*

Peace ALL,
Hopefully someone can please help me!! I recently purchased a used OP2 off of Amazon. Phone received was in good shape and looked brand new. The problem I have however is that I can't bypass the initial set-up (I think it has something to do with Google factory Reset Protection).
Whenever the phone is in the initial setup process its asking for a gmail that was synced to the device before it was wiped--which of course I dont have access to. Is there any workaround for this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
i had the same problem as i got it second hand. The thing with me was that i knew the owner.
The problem is that the previous owner wiped the device from the boot menu ( the one that looks like twrp) and not from the in menu setting.
this is why it asks for a previous mail.
I asked for his mail and password ,logged in, went to settings did a factory reset form the menu and all ok.I dont know what you could do without his mail and password.
Maybe unlock it put twrp custom rom open it and then reset it to factory settings?
Does anybody know if unlocking bootloader and flashing the stock ROM will bypass Google Device Protection (not sure if this will work as i think the OP2 is already "unlocked")?
Someone please help
I am having the same issue. I've read how you have to wait 72 hours but I am not sure if it will work.

FRP LOCK SM-G530W (Kodoo Variant)

Hey guys! A friend of mine gave me her old phone (Samsung Grand Prime(SM-G530W)) and I planned to reset it so my Father can have a new phone. Unfortunately, after a hard reset the phone kept asking for the previous gmail account (My friend said it's a very old gmail and have not logged in with it for so long).
So far I have tried to flash 2 stock firmware (both lollipop 5.1.1 and even tried to flash a bell variant firmware) with Odin and no luck so far.
Thanks for the help in advance!

It doesn't matter how many different versions of firmware you flash. It's a security feature built in to the device to deter theives from stealing it. (Think iCloud lock for Android, similar concept).
There are methods to bypass this but I won't discuss them as I don't know for sure how you came across the phone and don't want to be complicit in theivery, but be sure to check google.
Your best bet at this point is to give your friend some truth serum and torture her for the old password (Or to ask her to initiate password recovery in order to obtain a new password. Please note that after the password has been changed you will have to wait a further 72 hours before accessing the phone.... another google security thing).

Cannot add a new gmail account to the phone unless he is able to access the phone... which he needs the old account information for. The problem is he cannot access the phone because
The phone was already hard reset (No Contacts or Data on the phone, it's been wiped) so this is a mute point.
1- Perform a factory reset using recovery mode
2- when the phone boot up , Connect your phone to a wifi and complete all necessary step until you have to verify your Google account .
3- When you are to the point when you have to verify your account use the the OTG Cable in order to connect your phone to some memory stick which contain the bypass app
4- Navigate to the app and install it .
5- immediately after installing open the app , it will redirect to SETTINGS .
5- open it and navigate to Backup and Reset
6- proceed to the factory reset again
7- choose erase everything
Done
The next time it boot up , Frp should be gone

Worked for my SM-G530W (Solo Mobile Canada, but has nothing to do with the firmware as is factory unlocked w.w.)
I had the same problem, and i used KIES 3 (not compatible with my phone anyway), but if you go on Kies toolbar to "TOOLS", "Firmware Upgrade and initialisation", it asks you for your device model (for mine i typed SM-G530W, and then it asks you for device serial number (S/N) found under the battery by the IMEI number. After this, follow on screen prompts (Restart your device in Download mode/ PDA, connect USB cable, etc), and let the software download and install (factory rom); After your device restarts, you are good to go (sometimes if it gets stuck on booting, remove battery for fer second and start again.) Now you have to go back and set up everything you want, including re-rooting your device... Good luck. (My device is Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530W Factory unlocked rom, Android 5.11.
Hi,
I am somewhat in the same boat. My friend's SM-G530W just crashed in her hands, and she ended up buying a new phone. When I got to her place she told me nobody managed to do anything with it, not even her carrier (Telus) , so I said gimme that and i'll see if there really is nothing you can do. Factory reset didn't fix the boot loop , so I grabbed the latest firmware from sammobile and reflashed it using Odin. I didn't even know about FRP until that day. After flashing , the phone came to life.. so I said to myself.. Too easy! .. Then FRP hit me. Because she didn't even understand what a google account is , I ended up resetting her password using her new phone and a google code to change it. Afterwards the phone told me I needed to wait 24h after a password change. It has now been 2 weeks , and same issue. I know I have the right password because if I type another , it tells me wrong password , but when I type the correct one it says to wait 24h, but it never goes beyond that.
I have tried every method possible that I have seen to bypass FRP, including OTG , disconnect wifi during update check, realterm and a few softwares , yet the same problem persist. I also tried Freelancer's tip , but same thing. It still asked for the old account because password was reset, and again tells me to wait 24h because of a password change.
Any more ideas?
SM-G530W Telus
Damn
Out Of all the phones in the world you had to get that one.... that one is impossible to unlock, it uses multiple built-in software and has a glitch in the systems hardware to make it impossible to unlock I have two of them since 2016, december 12th, it is 2017-12-25. and let me tell you I would give anyone 1000$ who ever can prove me wrong... I am very confident that this phone can not be unlocked, it was one of the first phones to use frp and honestly it kinda sucks, I got a samsung galalxy 8s now... perhaps in the distant future someone will unlock this phone.. but ofcourse by then it will be ****...

This is going to sound crazy, but I guarantee that it will work. I have unlocked a dozen plus grand primes SM-G530W phones. You will not need any OTG cables or flash any firmware. But you will have to download a couple apk's to remove the account. So that said. Take your grand prime to MacDonalds. . When there connect to the MacDonalfs free wifi. Normally you cant open a captive portal on google locked phones. But you can with the grand prime. The macdonalds splash screen will open up and you can scroll down to the bottom and click a link for policy. That will open your browser. From there you can download technocaretricks apk and quickshortcutmaker apk and bypass the google account .

Google pay update broke phone

Just wondering if this happened to anyone else and how they fixed it? without factory reset which is the last thing, i've yet to try.
Android pay working well, used it a lot, daily usually. Then mid-afternoon got updated to google pay. Then that evening tried to use it denied, stating "you can no longer use google pay on this phone"
So tried to clear cache, reinstall same error. created bug report contacted google support, for them to tell me it's because my phone is rooted. Which it is not, this is a stock phone, I have never tried to root this phone.
I told them it was stock, and that android pay was working and showed them transactions earlier that day at the local garage and then the bug report from when it stopped directly after updating to google pay.
They insist I must relock bootloader and get my manufacturer to help.
any thoughts?
I got the same problem on my s8+ running oreo beta, not rooted. At least Samsung pay works for me.

Are you on the beta oreo?
not on beta oreo. I'll try Samsung pay next time see if it works...
tried Samsung pay today at the garage. worked just fine. Google pay update did break my phone then. Or possibly it maybe bank card related. i may have needed to unregister my card with android pay. Then re -reg with Google and the same card.
edit: tried to delete 're reg card now it states my phone is rooted or boot loader is unlocked. can't even add a card now. guess last thing to try is factory reset.
duplicate post...
well I found the issue. somehow in developers bit the oem unlock was turned on. really not sure how that happened. as I don't go in there ever. only unlocked the developers bit because I could and that was done when I got the phone a year ago. but hope this helps someone else , probably not.

Having trouble flashing my Samsung T567V Tab back to factory settings...

I want to put this Samsung SM-T567V Verizon tablet back to its original factory state, without the software the previous owner used for work, but I think I'm missing something. I've located the factory ROM and downloaded it. I boot the tablet up in odin mode. Start Odin in administrator mode on my laptop. Connect usb cable and recognize the tablet. Choose AP and locate the ROM file. Run the flash. Odin completes and says "PASS". Disconnect the tablet from my lappy and it reboots. Runs all of the normal setup screens as if new (language, email accounts, etc) and finally gets to a home screen. Then about 90 seconds later, it forces me to go through an install for some "Brookdale" program that I'm guessing the previous owner used for work. Once that is done, I see in the Apps section MobiControl and also Knox Mobile Enrollment Service (both mentioned during this last install), but nothing for Brookdale. Its really been driving me crazy! I've searched and searched but I cannot find any help or a solution anywhere. I don't want the previous owners company to think I'm trying to hack into them and I certainly don't want them accessing me either!
So I guess my questions are:
1. Are the MobiControl and Knox apps remnants of the previous user or are they actual factory programs?
2. If these are from the previous user, why wont they get wiped out when I flash the tablet? (I cannot uninstall them either)
Please help!!!
Thank you for any info you can share with me!
Mike
Hi ?
Hi,
I read your post and I have the exact tablet and have the same issues.. I was wondering if your ever got it resolved ?

"This device was reset" Cannot use older ATT galaxy S7 Edge. Solutions?

Hello all.
I recently received a used at&t Galaxy S7 (variant SM-G935A) that hadn't been used in over a year, and was looking forward to using it, when I encountered this message:
"This device was reset, To continue, sign in with a google account that was previously synced on this device"
I tried numerous sign in's all to no avail, and the previous owner doesn't even remember the password, (Probably why I was given this phone) so now I am stuck with a beautiful looking brick. They said that had done a "factory reset" So I assumed it would be blank and that I could sign in with my google account, but that is not working.
It dawned on me that this may be a case of going back to the trenches and using ODIN panel, but I haven't done that in years.
Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? Can I flash the firmware with ODIN?
thanks!
PM
If you still know the person, they don't have to remember the password at the time, they just have to be able to log into the account. Do they still use the same google account?
Hi, yes there is a way.
You need three things:
1 - a Combination firmware for your S7 (basically, a kind of dev firmware)
2 - Odin
3 - The original Firmware
You can find several tutos on Youtube for it.
--
Second option, i've recovered mine using a procedure with a simcard with a pin code. It worked and i didnt have to flash any firmware.
