[Q] *Can't get past initial set-up page* - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Peace ALL,
Hopefully someone can please help me!! I recently purchased a used OP2 off of Amazon. Phone received was in good shape and looked brand new. The problem I have however is that I can't bypass the initial set-up (I think it has something to do with Google factory Reset Protection).
Whenever the phone is in the initial setup process its asking for a gmail that was synced to the device before it was wiped--which of course I dont have access to. Is there any workaround for this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

i had the same problem as i got it second hand. The thing with me was that i knew the owner.
The problem is that the previous owner wiped the device from the boot menu ( the one that looks like twrp) and not from the in menu setting.
this is why it asks for a previous mail.
I asked for his mail and password ,logged in, went to settings did a factory reset form the menu and all ok.I dont know what you could do without his mail and password.
Maybe unlock it put twrp custom rom open it and then reset it to factory settings?

Does anybody know if unlocking bootloader and flashing the stock ROM will bypass Google Device Protection (not sure if this will work as i think the OP2 is already "unlocked")?
Someone please help

I am having the same issue. I've read how you have to wait 72 hours but I am not sure if it will work.

Activesync locked my phone... Please help.

Hi All,
I mistakenly entered my password and Activesync locked my phone.
I was running the Litening rom which allowed me to load Clockmod and copy my data off. I then re-flashed it with the Litening ROM again but after initial configuration the screen lock comes on and asks for a password.
I re-flashed again and tried to change the screen lock but it asks for the password to change.
Finally I thought it was something wrong with the Litening ROM so I installed the Check5Rom performed initial configuration and the screen lock is still there!?
Has anyone else had the same issue with Activesync locking the device?
I own my phone and was using Exchange at the company I am consulting at, mistakenly I didn't use Touchdown otherwise I could have avoided this.
Is there anyway to fix this without having to the Exchange admit and get him to type in the unlock password?
Any help would be awesome
I thought activesync was windows mobile only, times move on... not sure this would lock your phone now, try clearing all ROM data, partition and dalvic and reinstall ROM. alternatively if you have a backup on clock that should solve it. Unless you are talking about a password in windows or something, i'm confused to be honest.
I created an Exchange account under "Accounts and Sync" which allowed me to connect to the company's Exchange/OWA Server.
Unfortunately I didn't read the fine print and when I messed the password up it locked my phone ;(
full reflash then
ask your exchange sync admin to remove the lock?
Thanks guys for helping. I had to put the original Samsung Galaxy S2 rom back on and remove the custom roms totally.
I followed this blog post that showed how to put I9100XXKH3 back on my phone.
This got me back to 2.3.4. When I rebooted it still asked me for a password, I failed it on purpose 3 times and it wiped my phone. When it rebooted after the wipe I was back to a new rom and I could reset the screen lock.
Not sure if it is an issue specific to Litening rom? But from now on I am using Touchdown rather than native active sync on my phone.
Thanks again everyone!

S7E Google Account login stuck

Hello everyone.
My brother gave me his S7E and he factory reseted the phone from recovery (wipe data/factory reset). Before he has done that, he removed the fingerprints
Now when we boot the phone, it's stuck on the Google Account sign in, I've tried using my gmail to login, but it didnt let me, after few tries, still nothing.
Then I've tried my brothers gmail, yet again it wont let us to login. It's like, it logins but it want's us to login again. Over and over and over again.
So I know this is kinda a noob question, but please can someone help me?
Further thanks.
it's google security, u have to log in with the last google acc used on that phone after factory reset, it's to prevent the use of a stolen phone even doing a factory reset, there's no way to deactivate it and once u input the correct credentials the initial setups begins ,ake sure u're login with the right one
Your "brother" might have used another account.
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
It's FRP lock protection, used to protect against a phone being stolen then factory reset and sold on.
All you need to do is log in using the Google account that was in place prior to the factory reset being carried out. Which, presuming it is actually your brothers phone, won't be an issue. If he isn't sure about the password, test the account on a computer of some sort. If the password doesn't work, reset it. But note that, if a password reset is carried out, you won't be able to log that account into the phone for 72 hours.
3 days late response. Sorry. So I figured out everything from Samsung directly (over live support)
I'd like the mods close this thread and mark it as SOLVED.
Everything (anyone) who gets locked out of their phone (when they reset it from recovery).
1. Reset your Google account password and do not attempt to login when you have changed it.
2. Wait 24 hours to pass
3. Login and reset the phone from settings
OPTIONAL
If you don't want the FRP to happen, ever again. Disable it in the Developer Option (OEM Unlock)
Ok so I've reset my password and have waited OVER 72 hours to log back in and it's still telling me to wait...what's the deal?

FRP LOCK SM-G530W (Kodoo Variant)

Hey guys! A friend of mine gave me her old phone (Samsung Grand Prime(SM-G530W)) and I planned to reset it so my Father can have a new phone. Unfortunately, after a hard reset the phone kept asking for the previous gmail account (My friend said it's a very old gmail and have not logged in with it for so long).
So far I have tried to flash 2 stock firmware (both lollipop 5.1.1 and even tried to flash a bell variant firmware) with Odin and no luck so far.
Thanks for the help in advance!

It doesn't matter how many different versions of firmware you flash. It's a security feature built in to the device to deter theives from stealing it. (Think iCloud lock for Android, similar concept).
There are methods to bypass this but I won't discuss them as I don't know for sure how you came across the phone and don't want to be complicit in theivery, but be sure to check google.
Your best bet at this point is to give your friend some truth serum and torture her for the old password (Or to ask her to initiate password recovery in order to obtain a new password. Please note that after the password has been changed you will have to wait a further 72 hours before accessing the phone.... another google security thing).

Cannot add a new gmail account to the phone unless he is able to access the phone... which he needs the old account information for. The problem is he cannot access the phone because
The phone was already hard reset (No Contacts or Data on the phone, it's been wiped) so this is a mute point.
1- Perform a factory reset using recovery mode
2- when the phone boot up , Connect your phone to a wifi and complete all necessary step until you have to verify your Google account .
3- When you are to the point when you have to verify your account use the the OTG Cable in order to connect your phone to some memory stick which contain the bypass app
4- Navigate to the app and install it .
5- immediately after installing open the app , it will redirect to SETTINGS .
5- open it and navigate to Backup and Reset
6- proceed to the factory reset again
7- choose erase everything
Done
The next time it boot up , Frp should be gone

Worked for my SM-G530W (Solo Mobile Canada, but has nothing to do with the firmware as is factory unlocked w.w.)
I had the same problem, and i used KIES 3 (not compatible with my phone anyway), but if you go on Kies toolbar to "TOOLS", "Firmware Upgrade and initialisation", it asks you for your device model (for mine i typed SM-G530W, and then it asks you for device serial number (S/N) found under the battery by the IMEI number. After this, follow on screen prompts (Restart your device in Download mode/ PDA, connect USB cable, etc), and let the software download and install (factory rom); After your device restarts, you are good to go (sometimes if it gets stuck on booting, remove battery for fer second and start again.) Now you have to go back and set up everything you want, including re-rooting your device... Good luck. (My device is Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530W Factory unlocked rom, Android 5.11.
Hi,
I am somewhat in the same boat. My friend's SM-G530W just crashed in her hands, and she ended up buying a new phone. When I got to her place she told me nobody managed to do anything with it, not even her carrier (Telus) , so I said gimme that and i'll see if there really is nothing you can do. Factory reset didn't fix the boot loop , so I grabbed the latest firmware from sammobile and reflashed it using Odin. I didn't even know about FRP until that day. After flashing , the phone came to life.. so I said to myself.. Too easy! .. Then FRP hit me. Because she didn't even understand what a google account is , I ended up resetting her password using her new phone and a google code to change it. Afterwards the phone told me I needed to wait 24h after a password change. It has now been 2 weeks , and same issue. I know I have the right password because if I type another , it tells me wrong password , but when I type the correct one it says to wait 24h, but it never goes beyond that.
I have tried every method possible that I have seen to bypass FRP, including OTG , disconnect wifi during update check, realterm and a few softwares , yet the same problem persist. I also tried Freelancer's tip , but same thing. It still asked for the old account because password was reset, and again tells me to wait 24h because of a password change.
Any more ideas?
SM-G530W Telus
Damn
Out Of all the phones in the world you had to get that one.... that one is impossible to unlock, it uses multiple built-in software and has a glitch in the systems hardware to make it impossible to unlock I have two of them since 2016, december 12th, it is 2017-12-25. and let me tell you I would give anyone 1000$ who ever can prove me wrong... I am very confident that this phone can not be unlocked, it was one of the first phones to use frp and honestly it kinda sucks, I got a samsung galalxy 8s now... perhaps in the distant future someone will unlock this phone.. but ofcourse by then it will be ****...

This is going to sound crazy, but I guarantee that it will work. I have unlocked a dozen plus grand primes SM-G530W phones. You will not need any OTG cables or flash any firmware. But you will have to download a couple apk's to remove the account. So that said. Take your grand prime to MacDonalds. . When there connect to the MacDonalfs free wifi. Normally you cant open a captive portal on google locked phones. But you can with the grand prime. The macdonalds splash screen will open up and you can scroll down to the bottom and click a link for policy. That will open your browser. From there you can download technocaretricks apk and quickshortcutmaker apk and bypass the google account .

Galaxy S8 Install Stock Rom

Afternoon,
First post, so please bear with me if I don't post as much information as you need.
My girlfriend has an S8, which she changed the lock code on drunk and forgot she did it, let her phone die overnight and then entered her code wrong enough times to force a factory reset. My problem now is she doesn't know her google username and password, because she accepted an auto-generated gmail account when she first set the phone up. So I am now stuck at the sign in screen asking for the account that was originally used to setup the phone.
I've googled and seen some small USB you can plugin to get to the setting screen to perform another factory reset, which I can't find information on if this workaround had been patched or not. The phone would of been using the latest version of everything before it forced the factory reset.
So first question, if I purchased this USB, would it work?
Second question, would flashing the phone with a new copy of the stock rom get around this problem? If so, does anyone have a guide I can follow? I've never flashed any phones before, but I am quite technically capable
TIA for any and all help

Need help unlocking my phone, it's really urgent for me

Hello.
I have a serious problem.
tl;dr:
I forgot my pattern lock combination and I need my messages so I don't want to factory reset. Is there any other way?
Long story:
So I've forgotten my pattern lock combination and I have a job interview tomorrow at the address I received in a message.
I can't unlock my phone. I didn't write down the address anywhere else. And if I try to factory reset my phone it will get rid of all my messages.
So far I've tried:
dr.phonw - but for some reason it doesn't work on p9 lite
I've read online you can delete the password file for the pattern lock and it will unlock, I've tried using usb cable to access my files but I can't access the phone while it's locked.
I've tried installing a file manager from a sd card in recovery mode, but p9 lite doesn't have that function.
Do you have any other ideas I could try.
It might seem like a strange question, but I'm really panicking right now, the job interview is tomorrow and it's really important to me.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
