Disabling haptic feedback on lock screen?

Is there anyway to disable the haptic feedback for the lock screen? I unchecked haptic feedback and there is still haptic feedback. I don't mind it so much for moving shortcuts and widgets, but for the lock screen, it kind of gets annoying. Is there anyway to disable this?
I'm running Fission 2.2.1.
I've been wondering this for some time now.. I HATE it hahaha

If it was just once, it wouldn't be so bad, like after you unlock it. But the fact that it does it when you press and then move it, that is annoying.
I'd much rather not even have any haptic though for sure.
Please! Is there anyway to stop this? Or in the future will there be??
Haptic feedback can't be disabled right now. We can only hope Gingerbread will fix the bug.
Squidlymandigo disabled it. You can install his rom/patch. I did it, worked pretty well. Its not 100% disabled, but its 99% disabled. He has to leave just a little in there so the vibrate function works on ring if enabled. But its really hard to feel that last little bit of haptic feedback. You can get it from droid forums dot net. Cant post links yet.
I honestly wish the haptic feedback on the lock screen was gone, but on the soft keys that it was a bit stronger
Im sure if you asked squidlymandigo on droid forums dot net, he would look into it. But currently it just takes out almost all the haptic.
EDIT: Just noticed, he is a member her aswell.
I wonder why...
I wonder if this was intentional or not, since on my Droid Incredible I turned off the Haptic feedback option and it doesn't vibrate just fine.
if you use widget locker you can disable it

How to disable Haptic Feedback?

how do i disable haptic feedback? i couldnt find it under sounds menu.
I was looking for this too. You can turn it off for the keyboard under the keyboard settings.
Can't figure out how to turn it off for the "system" (soft keys).
BLOWSSS.
Nexus S is looking better and better.
yeah I can't find it either. My captivates screen is eons beyond this qHD ****. Unfortunately I would rather have the higher resolution.
nobody knows how to? This haptic feedback is irritating me...
+1 Driving me nuts. I tweeted @motorola and even asked on their forums.
absolute mess up with this haptic feedback. Neither Motorola nor AT&T has any clue of how to disable this sh$t. I hate that buzzing on my phone.
Agreed. I can't stand it. I have looked for a while but only able to find the place to disable it for the keyboard.
Huge oversight by Moto if they didn't put in a way to disable it. Its something I will probably get use to but right now.. It is annoying.
Had the same issue. Under Settings/Location and Security Settings deselect Use Tactile Feedback. Disables most of the haptic feedback on the screen though the standard Android buttons still vibrate.
I think if you download SpareParts in the market, it will allow. I will check back later and see. Normally it's in the menu's though. It's annoying as hell!

Unfortunately, this doesn't work either.
This and the fact that the battery nor the front facing camera are as good as the iPhone 4, are causing me to waffle as to if I'm going to return the atrix or not.
Bump
Has anyone figured out if we can disable the haptic feedback on the soft keys? It's super annoying IMHO.
I have asked to question in the past, and the answer i got in short was that there are no options for the 4 action buttons on the bottom to disable haptic feedback. Design flaw... and aside from that, the only way to disable it is if you downloaded a certain app, which i can not recall which one it is anymore but when i do i will post it back up here, which will disable all vibrations (including if your phone is on silent)...
Great right?
Its the dell streak app I believe that will disable all vibration. I cant live without vibrations when phone is on silent so I guess ill have to deal.

[Q] hd widgets

This is not a nexus 10 specific question, so sorry if there was a better place for this.
I just bought and installed HD widgets' and its great. The issue is that it has now disabled the smart cover capability of my case. Now opening the case just takes you to the lock screen, a touch annoying as you might imagine.
Due to the nature of the search terms, Google is being quite useless, focuses on adding widgets to the lock screen, not on how to sort it with a smart cover.
A anyone know how to sort this out? Many thanks.
Based on your post, I'm assuming that you want no lock screen of any kind? You want to just open the cover, and have it on the homepage? If that's correct, I may be able to help. I have HD widgets as well, but never noticed a problem because I had a pattern lock set up already.when I went to change it, the options under security for None, Slite, and Face unlock were grayed out. What I had to do to fix it was to go under Settings, Security, and clear all credentials. After this I was able to disable the lock screen. I haven't noticed any adverse effects. Everything seems to be working fine.
Hope this helps.

Possible? disable touch with ambient display?

I like the ambient display. It's nice to see the time when I move my phone. But I don't like the fact that if I touch the screen anywhere while the ambient display is on, my screen will then turn fully on. I don't want to interact with my phone - i just want the clock to show, and that's it. I'd rather push the power or use the fingerprint reader if I want to actually do something.
So does anyone know if it's possible to disable the touchscreen when the ambient display comes on?
I'm unlocked/rooted on stock ROM. I'd rather not have an app for this - I'd rather manually change a setting myself....
Thanks!
any ideas guys?
Nothing built into the phone for this. So I'm guessing it will require something external (app or change build prop or something)
Perhaps an xposed module?
If there's a way to do that, I'm really interested.
Exact thing I would appreciate Just simple way to disable touch during ambient screen
I also was thinking about this, didn't find anything in build. Prop.
Someone with better knowledge?
Would be great.
Thanks
I was looking for it aswell.... you should pm some rom developer maybe
still nothing on this??? the galaxy s7 edge nails this but i dont wanna give up my nexus for it.
This is a feature that is built into the kernel and can only be disabled by removing the code from the kernel that allows it in the first place.
This is possible via Tasker.
State - Daydreaming (On)
Code: setOnTouchListener(null)
I'm on mobile right now so I can't give you a full code breakdown, but it should be relatively easy.

[Q] Intentional Fingerprint Delay

In OMNI ROM for 8.1 the fingerprint capture is delayed slightly. Similar to the Z5 Compact. In my opinion the lightning fast fingerprint reader renders the lock screen useless and what used to be a quick display of information is now just a blur as my phone unlocks. This then prompts me to perform several other actions to retrieve/view the notification. Not to mention the music apps lock screen widget to skip tracks is now useless because my phone unlocks before I have time to interact with the lock screen.
How adding a delay in fingerprint recognition could be accomplished (if at all) on the stock firmware for 8.0?
Does anyone know if there is a delay parameter in some part of the system that can be modified?
What controls the recognition of the fingerprint scanner (kernel or android system)?
I know what you are talking about but a workaround is to press it with a finger nail or a finger that hasn't been setup like the little finger of your non-dominant hand.

Yeah that's the short term fix but I want a longer term fix if I am to use this phone for a few years.
Clarification on question:
I guess I am wondering what piece of the android operating system controls the scanner.
Is it the kernel or is it one of the few android fingerprint applications?
Any suggestions on this would be helpful so I can begin looking into a solution because I like the fingerprint scanner in the power button but I just want it to distinguish between me powering on to see the lockscreen/check time/change music or me actually wanting to unlock the device.
