Hi guys, I am currently CONFUSED reg. all the different versions reg. Samsung FWs (CSC, baseband, modem, BL, ...), therefore before I do anything stupid please advise :good:
My SGS 7 edge is currently the following (out of the box, not rooted):
Product code: SM2G935FZKAXEH
FW CSC: XEH (Hungary)
Active CSC: XEH
Available CSCs: BGL, CYO, MET, ORX, ROM, SEB, SEE, SIO, TWO, VIM, XEH, XEO
BL: G935FXXS1BPJ1
PDA: G935FXXS1BPJ1
CSC: G935FOXX1BPH1
Baseband: G935FXXU1BPHJ
I would now like to flash the following FW:
G935FXXU1BPJE_G935FATO1BPJ1_ATO - Open Austria
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/107392/G935FXXU1BPJE_G935FATO1BPJ1_ATO
Few questions now:
1) Will my CSC then change to ATO? As I think I've read is that Multi-CSCs (like my current one is) don't change, right?
2) Will the flash wipe my data or keep the data/apps?
3) Most important: Will OTA updates still work after the flash? I am confused as I've read that some codes which don't fit togetger will stop OTAs
Though I flashed a lot in my old Note 4 days, I never fully got the grasp on all these different versions and their true meanings :silly:

1. I don't think your CSC changes with a ROM flash, just try it! You can get seperate CSC flashables anyway if it does change.
2. Always back everything up anyway! Then you won't have to worry.
3. Yes OTA still works for me and I am using Italian firmware, but using a UK device. (BTU) I only use Italian because when the note 7 gallery app came out, UK didn't have it yet but I'll switch back to UK soon lol

Hi, thx for your answer!
1) Actually I'd like my CSC to change to ATO, but doesn't matter really if it stays or goes. Most important to me is that OTAs keep working after that, no matter which CSC. I would only flash the 1 piece Firmware file (AP), not the separate ones.
2) Sure will do using Smart Switch. That's the new KIES, right? lol
3) Ok that's the most important info for me: So it means, no matter which combination of FW and CSC you end up with, OTAs keep working?
1.Depend on what CSC you flash in odin
2.The flash will wipe the data if you flash CSC file. If you don't want data to be wiped, flash HOME_CSC file instead of CSC file.
3.OTA will only work reliably if all 4 files you flash in odin is from the same region.

See, that's the part I am having troubles with.
Assuming I flash the ATO FW (1 piece AP only) and my CSC stays on XEH, no more OTAs?
Shaolin says that Italian firmware with UK device (BTU) works for him.
Hmmm. Maybe I better leave it as it is :silly:

Hi
There is this stock package for s5360 - S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2. There is Polish language but there is no XEO. Can I use CSC from another ROM pack for example from this S5360_XXLH2_OXXLH2_XXLH2 ??
Why not try:
S5360_XXKL3_OXXKL1_XXKL3
European multilanguage build.
based on: S5360XXKL3_S5360OXXKL1_RST_S5360XXKL3_HOME.tar.md5
ro.build.date=Wed Dec 14 17:16:14 KST 2011
Supported languages:
XX = de,en,es,fr,hu,it,nl,pt(cs,da,el,fi,no,pl,sl,sv,tr )
Included CSCs: (Default is XEU)
ATO AUT COS CPW CYO CYV EIR EUR FOP ITV MOO PAN PHE SUW TPH XEF XEH XEO XEU XEZ XSK
After the flash, set your country/provider in dialer *#272*[yourIMEI]# (-> It will wipe your data, and rebrand the phone to specific country/carrier)
This build does not contais any provider specific bloatware
I think pl is polish language and XEO is there also in this stock firmware.
Also Doky73 is converting and releasing new firmware updates at present, he just did Polish T-Mobile stock ROM today so maybe you can check Sammobile for new firmware for yourself and ask nicely if he will convert it?
I would like to use newest ROM. The newest is S5360_XXLK1_OXFLK1_XXLH2.
Is this CSC setting really important ?

I thought it was but apparently it is not so important at all. (See the Q&A Ask any questions thread). Just flash the latest firmware that you want which supports your language and you should be fine apart from having to set up your data network settings manually (APN settings). I have to do this anyway as my carrier is not major so I keep a list of the settings for when I change ROM, if you don't have those written down or cannot find them online get them from your phone before you do anything else.
Also, have you made a nandroid backup using CWM recovery yet? Always do this before making major changes, it could save you a lot of trouble if things go wrong! (I didn't and it caused me a lot of trouble lol). Also make a note of your IMEI number by pressing *#06# in dialer.
If when you have flashed the firmware you cannot connect to your carrier, then press *#272#(your IMEI number)# and it should fix it. If it doesn't (I am told this is very unlikely) then just flash the CSC file as you were asking about doing in your first post using Odin and it should all be good again.
I have been told that the CSC doesn't matter but have not had chance to test it myself yet as I only found out tonight!
Good luck :good:
Hi, I want to flash my galaxy as fedup with waiting for updates.
I got BTU, UK unbranded, unlocked S4
I am polish, so thinking flash it to polish firmware as they get it fast.
GT-I9505 XEO I9505XXUBMEA thats the one I want go for
Can someone tell what is it ? is it network firmware or unbranded?
I would go for it only if I can change CSC code to XEO, so I can get OTA updates.
If not I will keep waiting for BTU
And Dont really want XEO polish carier firmware, as I can flash to Three UK BTU network, would be the same and dont have to change CSC.
So, main questions are
What it is XEO ? what network ?
Can I flash it + change code to CSC all safe?
and how to do it ? Odin
Thank You.

as far as i tried you cant change csc with flashing . unless you flash single csc not multi.
only way is to root with auto root than change csc wit csc changer and then flash desired firmware with odin.
xeo looks like it is simfree so its just general for poland

Can someone help me out as I am new to all of this...
I am using a Samsung galaxy tab 7.0 (p2610), and I flashed a jelly bean update successfully using odin. I am not rooted.
I have a system update in the notifications window that is stuck there, that is not working (process fails), this is due to the csc code being in great britain.
I am in Canada, I have Odin ready to go, can someone please show me how to change the CSC of my device to Canada?
Where do I go to download the appropriate file? After I assume I load it up in Odin with device in recovery mode, and flash using the "CSC" option in Odin correct?
Any help would be great.

To flash cross regional fimrware you need to change you CSC code.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491877
Also if you flash MJ3 build then your bootloader will be upgraded and you have to stay will MJ3 firmware, you cant then downgrade back to MJ1 firmware

I want to know this as well. I have Malaysian fw on my phone but I want to switch to BTU. According to what I have read this should work because my current region is XX, however I have seen way too many people getting this ext4 error for me to try it.
Can someone give a definitive answer? I am on MJ3 with a region of XX. Thanks!

CSC code for UK (no carrier) = BTU.
Revision of Android - MJ7, latest version released as of yet...
Not sure about the rest but it appears regional...
Flashed it after running through RDLV but had issues with WIFI and sd card... Flashed extracted modem from MJ6 rom, this sent me into a bootloop. Flashed stock MJ6 rom onto phone and fixed the bootloop but put new bootloaders on. At this point warranty void was 0x0. Tried Kingoapp to root hoping it wouldn't trip counter, it did...
New bootloaders are a mongrel....

Make sure you take a backup via Kies if you need personal files
Download the respective stock ROMS from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com or see thread on Stock Roms on XDA
Extract zip to get tar.md5
Put device into download mode (Vol down+ Home + Power) and Flash using Odin (PDA option)
Wait till device reboots back into Android after completing the flash and recovery
Once device reboots, do a Factory Reset via back up and reset option
Once device reboots after Factory Reset/recovery, enter the google account info and restore settings and then turn off the device
and restart (go into recovery and see the csc btu being applied if yes then stop here,do factory reset and restart)
after this the next steps are optional
Boot device back into download mode (Vol down+ Home + Power)
Re-flash the same downloaded firmware for a second time via Odin
Once the device reboots after the 2nd flash, your CSC should have changed to the CSC of the ROM you downloaded, and Kies also should show that CSC has changed and it should allow future updates via Kies or OTA
check csc by going to stock recoverry it will show manual mode at the bottom and then show btu csc applied
i am now on xxumdj6
Hey! My issue is to somehow change the CSC without root on my device. I live in Hungary. I bought my phone at carrier (T-Mobile) my original CSC is TMH. When Marshmallow released for Poland i did manage to put it on my device. Now... because XEO is a Multi-rom after a clean install my CSC went to TPH (Portugal) I searched for how to change csc without root (in this case XEO) but im failed to do it.
So guys, is there any option to do it?

it is not similar; we are here talking about the only PIT available for us, OXX, which includes XEO, ROM, SIO etc but default one seems to be TPH, and factory reset brings us always to TPH

I had to flash 5.1.1 BTU to get rid of TPH. From there on, I came back to my original CSC. Therefore, I changed my CSC from TPH to SIM without root.
Edit: if I understand correctly, you can't flash BTU over TPH and then your original over BTU?

Yes,but i went from TPH to BTU and then from BTU to SIM. That's why I don't understand why you can't. Flash 5.1.1 from BTU in Odin, do a factory reset after BTU flash and TPH will be gone.
On older Samsung phones there was a code that you dial in the dial pad, which opened a menu so you can chose your CSC, but I don't know if it still works on the newer phones.

Hey you guys. Maybe someone know how to go back to SEB region. Because always when I flash is XEO tried many times
Did you trie flasing SEB firmware from Sammobile? It should change you csc to SEB. If not try searching only the csc file. If you are rooted you can change it with an app or try a custom rom with multi csc
I tried to flash SEB firmware 100 times maybe same result XEO. Where to find original SEB CSC? I am not rooted. Dont want loose waranty.

SEB (Baltic) and XEO (Poland) are part of a multi-CSC package (G935FOXX1BPH1). When installed, multi-CSC packages always default to a specific CSC out of all included CSCs (in this case XEO) and there is NO way to change that without root access. So you have three options, either trip KNOX and root so you can use SEB, or stay with XEO, or flash a firmware with a CSC that is not part of a multi-CSC package.
CSC codes list.
Thanks for answers. Well i think i will stay with XEO. I was in two services and they dont manage to restore SEB region. And what kind of lame for me, because it was Samsung service center and hall of them dont know what is CSC
