So I have a Galaxy S4 i9505. We need to use a Telstra sim card with it, but when we put it in it says No SIM Card detected, where as with a Lycamobile SIM it works fine, (the telstra sim card works fine in my S5 too)
This led me to believe it has to do with the baseband version, but I tried TONNES of different basebands and none of them worked. I got a hold of another S4 and tried the SIM card and it worked fine. I took a note of the baseband version (I9505XXUHOJ3), but I couldn't find a working download anywhere. I flashed XXUHOJ2, that didn't work. I flashed a stock rom intended for Telstra phones in Australia which is where I live and the provider the sim card uses. (ROM info: PDA I9505XXUHOL3, CSC I9505TELHOL2.) It included stock recovery, bootloader and everything, and a modem which was XXUHOL3, and it still didn't work. I can't find downloads for XXUHOJ3 exactly since the modem downloads are all defunct and the rom downloads are all hosted on file sharing sites that throttle my speed so that the download will take hours! But I don't see why that should matter anyway since I tried the version just before XXUHOJ3 as well as the newest version, and it still didn't work.
I don't know what to do. The phone works great otherwise. It's not the phone's sim card reader since the Lycamobile sim works fine. It's not the baseband version since changing that to a version akin to another S4 which it works fine with doesn't work either. The hell do I do?
I did notice one physical difference between the two S4's though. The sim card reader on that had the blue paper/plastic sticky thing or whatever covering the whole reader. This one is missing some of it/is misplaced. I'm not sure if that's important at all but it's just a detail I noticed. Here's an image demonstrating what I mean..

The sticker on mine looks exactly the same as yours. Mine was bought brand new and is still has all the original parts. So there goes your sticker theory.
I would replace the SIM. You can also try replacing the SIM tray, but I don't believe it is damaged. Besides, it's easier, and cheaper, to transfer your number to a new SIM.
It's also possible that your Telstra SIM doesn't fit properly in the SIM tray of that particular S4.
I replaced the simple already, got a new telstra sim, same issue. Like I said it works fine in another phone and a lycamobile sim works in this fine. I guess replacing the sim card reader is my only choice.. Might as well buy a new phone at this point
You can't compare a 5$ SIM tray to a 100$ phone.
Hi all, i think the problem is in the player contacts Of micro SIM.
I put a thickness and for a while il worked good.
But now the problem reappared ...
Do you think it is a software problem?

HI guys,
I bought an ATIV S in Malaysia running on stock rom and not bound to any carrier. Changed the CSC to ATO and updated to GDR3. Used the phone for few days and then sent it to my brother in another country with a different time zone. When he tired to put his sim the phone can't detect it.....sim card missing. He tried multiple sims but all not detected.
I am confused as what could be the reason since it was working fine in Malaysia. What shall i do ?

First of all, this is the Developement & Hacking section. This question belongs to the Q & A forum, where it will be answered. Please only post relevant threds in Developement & Hacking.
To answer your question:
Has he tried a hardreset? Maybe this is a bug related to the change of the CSC.
Are you sure that the phone was not damaged in any way while sending it to your brother? Let him take a look at the SIM-tray and see if a pin is missing, broken or whatever. This happened to a friend's phone just recently.
If nothing works, try to flash another ROM. If this doesn't fix your issue, it is most probably a hardware defect.
Sorry for posting in wrong section, guess i was in a hurry n didnt realize dat. Btw d problem has been identified n it turns out dat d sims from local carriers r different n d chip does not really come in contact with d pins due to different dimensions. In pic top 1 doesnt work while bottom one works.

I have my Samsung s4 sprint version rooted unlocked etc all that jazz and on red-pocket carrier. I used their sim card now the phone don't recognize the sim card. Also I keep having issues with the google play services error. Also bad battery drain. I am on the stock deoxed od2 rom with stage-fright patch.
so my question is for all those looking and not answering or trying to.
1.any ideas why this phone wont recognize the sim card?
2. any ideas why I have such bad battery drain?
3 why does my g4 still say it has stage fright vulnerabilities if I did the patch/fix.
4. what could cause the google play services to not work.
5. what keeps a s4 from flashing a boot animation?
im shocked no one has a answer or idea

First thing I would try would be to flash pure stock and make sure your sim is recognized/activated

1. Sim card could be bad, hardware could be bad.
2. There are a million reasons, check your battery usage to find which apps are using the battery. You can also try getting a new battery.
3. A new vulnerability has been discovered that has not been patched yet.
4. Again a vague question that could have many answers.
5. Samsung uses qmg format, if you hop to my Wicked X thread in post number 3 there is a converter that allows you to use zip format.

I've recently bought a Samsung Galaxy A3 Dual Sim off someone.
The physical phone has dual sim trays, and has DUOS engraved on the back of the phone.
The phone model is A300FU, android shows 1.5GB, android version 4.4.4
However, under the settings menu, the Sim Management settings is missing, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to see or control the second sim card.
Questions:-
Does anyone have any idea if flashing one of the A300FU 5.0.2 lollipop roms would fix this problem?
Does anyone have the same phone Dual Sim phone, does yours have a "Sim Management" settings? If yes, could you screenshot it and let me see what it looks like?
didvyou try putting both sims and trying to find sim manager

Tried that, even after putting in both sims, nothing showed up in settings screen on the Galaxy A3 duos.
I've tested both sims on my old Samsung Galaxy A7 Duos / Dual Sim.... both sims are in working order, and works on the phone.
On the Galaxy A7 Duos, the Settings Screen shows "Sim Management" option even if I don't have any sim card in it.
wow, this is very confusing
are you sure you have A300FU, cause the dual sim vairant is A300F, without the U on the end.

I'm pretty sure the phone hardware is a dual sim version. (see attached photos of the dual sim and the duos engraving)
I don't know whether the model A300FU is correct, that's what it says in the "About Phone" screen.
Under "Applications Manager" > "Running" screen, it shows a total of 883MB used + 508MB free = 1,391MB memory ... <= does this mean it's the 1.5GB Ram variant == A300FU?

Goodday folks, i happened to stumble upon something on multiple occasions while opening my Moto G4 2gb/16gb Amazon variant for swapping boards or internal components. While observing the motherboard, i recognized down by the sim card area there are two sim slots. Upon curiosity, I tried putting the sim in the second slot with no luck, it won't read ! I've tried on stock nougat ROM and even on my favourite ROM Arrow OS pie. the sims just won't read in the other slot which is BTW hidden behind the screwed on back cover. Does anyone have any ideas if there is some software exploit or method to get both sim slots to work ?? .

We had this discussion/observation 2018/2017 you'll find it for sure.
Since there, I can't remember that someone get this managed. You'll need a low level software or a hardware change maybe. But it's not possible by fastboot rom as we know(you'll brick it if you flash wrong firmware).

Ohh cool, ill look into it asap, it would really be nice to exploit that. :good:
I loaned my friend my old s7 edge and she said she got a blue screen of death. She went to a samsung repair spot in Best Buy that was authorized. She dropped it off and the tech called saying the logic board went bad. So I just ripped out the board in my S7E to replace it but before buying a 935v I was hoping i could buy a 935U board since its unlocked. Just wondering if anyone has done or confirmed this would work. I used to do this all the time with LG devices but not sure on this device. Thanks.
The reason I ripped out the board is because the phone would not power on, go into safe mode, recovery, bootloader, nothing. All I could get was my surface to recognize the SD chipset as MSM8996 when plugged in.

Well I guess it doesn't matter because I can't even find a 935u board only the 935v.
Funny thing is that the board in the pic is from an AT&T model, SM-G935A. Probably it was flashed with U firmware at some point... and bootlooped. The "A" bootloader has a higher number than the "U" or "V" and it cannot be flashed over.

I thought the same thing also. But underneath that it says /v/ and other letters. Seems to be the same board for most carriers. This was original from Verizon.
It is possible, but there's no U there.
I have flashed my V with U firmware and it worked fine, even got the U official updates after that. So it might be indeed the same board with different firmware on.
When I change the SIM, the phone re-flashes automatically a different radio modem, with a different CSC code.
