Goodday folks, i happened to stumble upon something on multiple occasions while opening my Moto G4 2gb/16gb Amazon variant for swapping boards or internal components. While observing the motherboard, i recognized down by the sim card area there are two sim slots. Upon curiosity, I tried putting the sim in the second slot with no luck, it won't read ! I've tried on stock nougat ROM and even on my favourite ROM Arrow OS pie. the sims just won't read in the other slot which is BTW hidden behind the screwed on back cover. Does anyone have any ideas if there is some software exploit or method to get both sim slots to work ?? .

We had this discussion/observation 2018/2017 you'll find it for sure.
Since there, I can't remember that someone get this managed. You'll need a low level software or a hardware change maybe. But it's not possible by fastboot rom as we know(you'll brick it if you flash wrong firmware).

I would just like to know if there is a way to flash a noID rom to the PPC6700. I would love to add Verzion's Rom version I was going to use it because the verizon phone has the ability to get gps data from fieldtrial.exe, where as the Spriint version does not, and maybe it has to do with the ROM?
Also, one last question, even if I don't do that, the regular image of the rom from the unbranded apache would even work.
I would also like to know if there is a way to remove the prefs.dat file from the sprint 6700 found in the filesystem/brew/prefs.dat because when I attempt to delete it usint qpst or bitpim it says that the carrier has restricted access to it. What is so special about this file for Sprint?
the gps data is not based on rom version...it is turned on by the carrier. for sprint, it would show up if you had...say...family locator.
but to answer your question:
search for bal666's htc64 extended rom tool, use it to decrypt the verizon nk.nbf, change carrier to SPCS_001, re-encrypt and flash using the updater from a sprint rom.
I do not have a prefs.dat in my cdma filesystem. why are you interested in removing it? can you post that file?
Not a chance. I can't look at the file without it flipping me off. This file will not remove itself if I smashed it with a hammer. I don't know what it does or what it is, but it is there and I don't like it? Sounds retarded, but if it has no purpose and it is RESTRICTED, I want to see it.
I have uploaded a screenshot of the existance of the file, it's behind the open window, I''m using this for both sites pdahome and here.
It is hosted by our good friends at Tinypic:

I am the NOOB of the forum
Hello, I wanted to take a minute to thank the great amount of useful information on your forums. The information has helped with my Dash and my Wzard. Now I have gotten my hands on a Sprint PPC6700, and, my question is ( forgive me if it is COMPLETELY misplaced) as follows: Is it possible to install the Verizon ROM on this device to make it usable on the Verizon Wireless network, or am I just losing sleep here for no reason?
As always, thanks for any information provided.
Hello again. Well, I decided to read the post(s) on this thread. (SORRY) I decoded the verizon rom and changed the description to read"SPCS_001". NOw, it seemed to freeze on the radio rom update. The screen displayed "Updating the RADIO stack". immediately after that popped up on the screen, the Update utility said that there was an unexpected error. Now the phone will probably have to be flashed back to the Sprint software, but I was really hoping to get the Verizon ROM on there...........help, please. Thanks.
HI guys,
I bought an ATIV S in Malaysia running on stock rom and not bound to any carrier. Changed the CSC to ATO and updated to GDR3. Used the phone for few days and then sent it to my brother in another country with a different time zone. When he tired to put his sim the phone can't detect it.....sim card missing. He tried multiple sims but all not detected.
I am confused as what could be the reason since it was working fine in Malaysia. What shall i do ?

First of all, this is the Developement & Hacking section. This question belongs to the Q & A forum, where it will be answered. Please only post relevant threds in Developement & Hacking.
To answer your question:
Has he tried a hardreset? Maybe this is a bug related to the change of the CSC.
Are you sure that the phone was not damaged in any way while sending it to your brother? Let him take a look at the SIM-tray and see if a pin is missing, broken or whatever. This happened to a friend's phone just recently.
If nothing works, try to flash another ROM. If this doesn't fix your issue, it is most probably a hardware defect.
Sorry for posting in wrong section, guess i was in a hurry n didnt realize dat. Btw d problem has been identified n it turns out dat d sims from local carriers r different n d chip does not really come in contact with d pins due to different dimensions. In pic top 1 doesnt work while bottom one works.

I had purchased an I9502 through olx.in, last week.
Second hand.
Due to rare users, there is no dedicated thread on XDA for my device
Now, many questions arises.
I had updated to official lollipop (5.0.1), by SAMMOBILE's official ROM. After upgrading, my second SIM cant connect to network. So I revert back it to KK (4.4.2). Still the problem persists !!!!! . I couldn't use it as a dual sim phone Is PDA and CSC version is important while flashing? or we could install any PDA/CSC rom version on samsung phones? I don't know the original ROM so, I had downloaded all firmwares available at sammobile and tested. only 2 of them managed to register my SIM(first) on network. Is it a hardware issue? or by a wrong ROM ? anyway now my mobile admitted at hospital and specialized doctors have been studying his disease
Is there anyone using dual SIM without any errors?
The PDA and CSC are vital to ensure you get the right regional variant for your device. The only exception is if the phone is unlocked for use on another carrier, in which case you can use a ROM from any region. Where you have the dual SIM version however, you only have one region available to you, but with multiple Android versions. The firmware here is the latest for your device. Do a factory reset before flashing through Odin.
I am totally disappointed.
My technician said that it had lost IMEI !

What will I do?
Is there anyway to recover its IMEI?
I had followed all guidelines available through search.
But, I couldn't...
Please help me on this....
Flash just the modem through Odin. You can extract it from the firmware download. Sometimes the modem needs to be flashed twice before everything functions correctly.
Other than that, I'm not aware of anything else software-wise that can be done. You'll need to take the phone to Samsung themselves and have them look at it.

I had the same situation and it worked
I have my Samsung s4 sprint version rooted unlocked etc all that jazz and on red-pocket carrier. I used their sim card now the phone don't recognize the sim card. Also I keep having issues with the google play services error. Also bad battery drain. I am on the stock deoxed od2 rom with stage-fright patch.
so my question is for all those looking and not answering or trying to.
1.any ideas why this phone wont recognize the sim card?
2. any ideas why I have such bad battery drain?
3 why does my g4 still say it has stage fright vulnerabilities if I did the patch/fix.
4. what could cause the google play services to not work.
5. what keeps a s4 from flashing a boot animation?
im shocked no one has a answer or idea

First thing I would try would be to flash pure stock and make sure your sim is recognized/activated

1. Sim card could be bad, hardware could be bad.
2. There are a million reasons, check your battery usage to find which apps are using the battery. You can also try getting a new battery.
3. A new vulnerability has been discovered that has not been patched yet.
4. Again a vague question that could have many answers.
5. Samsung uses qmg format, if you hop to my Wicked X thread in post number 3 there is a converter that allows you to use zip format.

I loaned my friend my old s7 edge and she said she got a blue screen of death. She went to a samsung repair spot in Best Buy that was authorized. She dropped it off and the tech called saying the logic board went bad. So I just ripped out the board in my S7E to replace it but before buying a 935v I was hoping i could buy a 935U board since its unlocked. Just wondering if anyone has done or confirmed this would work. I used to do this all the time with LG devices but not sure on this device. Thanks.
The reason I ripped out the board is because the phone would not power on, go into safe mode, recovery, bootloader, nothing. All I could get was my surface to recognize the SD chipset as MSM8996 when plugged in.

Well I guess it doesn't matter because I can't even find a 935u board only the 935v.
Funny thing is that the board in the pic is from an AT&T model, SM-G935A. Probably it was flashed with U firmware at some point... and bootlooped. The "A" bootloader has a higher number than the "U" or "V" and it cannot be flashed over.

I thought the same thing also. But underneath that it says /v/ and other letters. Seems to be the same board for most carriers. This was original from Verizon.
It is possible, but there's no U there.
I have flashed my V with U firmware and it worked fine, even got the U official updates after that. So it might be indeed the same board with different firmware on.
When I change the SIM, the phone re-flashes automatically a different radio modem, with a different CSC code.
