Hey guys left Verizon, wondering if it's possible to convert the VZW HTC 10 to T-Mobile since all the partitions are the same. Not sure if possible since one is CDMA and the other GSM

Does the unlocked work on tmo? If so, just convert to unlocked. This phone will fully convert to unlocked model (provided it's s-off).

Thanks, I am s-off, so gonna give it a go. Got their prepaid service, and my only option for an HTC phone was the Desire 626. It's a nice looking phone, but after having the 10 which is a total beast the downgrade sucks lol
Have you been successful in converting this to T-mobile?

I was in fact successful, thanks to dottats advice. Here's what I did.
Rebooted recovery. Wiped with twrp. Installed Insert coin (because it had T-Mobile support)
Booted, set up for T-Mobile. Rebooted into download mode. Flashed unlocked radio from this thread (the first download link): http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/radio-htc10-radio-collection-t3398233
Booted into fastboot. Changed CID to unlocked version
fastboot oem writecid BS_US001
Rebooted to Rom. Selected T-Mobile network in the data settings. All is good so far, except Wi-Fi calling seems broke.

Hello there,
Since the American versions of this phone seem to be bootloader locked, would it be possible to get the Canadian version, on say, Rogers, which isn't bootloader locked, and use it on AT&T? Would I get LTE this way as well? Thanks.
Absolutely. Should work no problem. Just add apn settings and simcard

Sorry to sound uninformed, but what is APN settings? Also, is there a more practical way to get an unlocked version from within the U.S. itself? Such as from T-Mobile?
I sold a Canadian HTC M7 from Telus on the US market with the bootloader unlocked but the new owner could not simply insert his SIM into the phone. It was SIM locked. Locked bootloader is completely different story than locked SIM (the device is locked to work only with a particular carrier's SIM). I had to get an unlock code and then worked. Be aware about this.
Here is your explanation:

Hello guys as you guys may have heard from other sources the moto X first gen is sim locked by the firmware I can unlock them as long as I can get a nv dump from the phones an a nv dump from a unlocked version (example dev edition or one that has be on taken in store an unlocked) if I can get the nv dumps I can compare them an provide a easy unlock I have the US cellular version on 4.4.2
If you post a nv dump post it like this
@(mytag) (carrier) (android version) attachment
I'll post a tool to use an instructions on how to dump it
My Moto X was never SIM locked. Where are you getting your information?
@afox27 Your thread title might be a little misleading since...
The Verizon XT1060, and the GSM XT1053 are Sim unlocked out of the box.
The ATT and Rogers XT1058 are SIM unlockable by getting the code from the carrier (might have to meet their criteria), or by purchasing from one of many online retailers that sell SIM unlock codes.
I believe the XT1052 in Asia and Europe is also SIM unlocked out of the box.
The Sprint XT1056 and Republic Wireless XT1049 can be sim unlocked via the steps/process posted in -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-success-sim-unlock-sprint-xt1056-t2825155
As for the US Cellular XT1055, and the Regional XT1050, well, those I am not sure about. So if you have a way that works for them which is different, cool! Please expand on what is needed!!

The xt1055 isn't simlocked I have one an took it in to be sim unlocked. Well. They showed me the screen saying it is sim unlocked your best bet is to flash the system from the other carriers moto x but don't flash over there modem. Keep the USC one. Idk y but when you flash over there's. We lose signal

That's very interesting. So, flash AT&T's OS, for example, and it'll work. That's what you meant by another carrier's system?

Yes. Ik it works with T-Mobile. Awhile back some ones gf had a xt1055 on T-Mobile. Verizon should work. To. But. Funny thing is you don't need a sim card for Verizon. I'm. Right now experimenting with the xt1042 aka moto g 4glte. I will confirm this here in a bit for the xt1055. Or. You could. Root your phone. An get a APN editor. An try that.

I'm gonna link you a app I made to get into the APN settings flash back to 4.4.4 USC stock. Firmware an install this app. If you still don't get signal. Flash ATT or T-Mobiles system.img only don't flash there modems or you will get the no service thing
Ok, so unlocked the bootloader, flashed the 4.4.3 Tmobile image, and rooted the phone. I didn't have a nano sim to test with, but it could see AT&T's network. I'm hoping that means that it'll work on GSM networks overseas, since my brother is going to the UK. Thanks so much!

For over seas you have to enable the bands for your area. Search for. "Unlock all your bands" on XDA.

Lots of people have had success unlocking their on contract and NEXT devices by using the online portal. I was able to get 2 on contract iPhones unlocked by submitting a request. The first went through no issues, the second took about 40 tries and I had to do it as a GoPhone even though it wasn't. Human error I am sure but idc I got the devices unlocked.
https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/
I think for the on contract phones that are w/in like 60 or 90 days of the onset of their contract, they get automatic denials. But everyone else is reviewed by a human and if you submit enough requests, you eventually get an unlock.
It is my understanding that the Verizon HTC 10 is unlocked for other carriers. So I'm hoping that someone here can tell me if the bands in the phone work well with ATT service.

I have not tested it out personally but I am 99% sure it will work.
I had a Verizon M9 (which is unlocked just as the HTC 10) and gave it to my girlfriend about 2 months ago. I only had to change the APN settings and she gets flawless service.

Do at your own risk.
You should be able to s-off, supercid and flash att ruu, converting to 100% at device.

I use Cricket which is a sub-brand of ATT. I am able to receive decent speeds, but not anything over 8 Mbps due to my plan.
If you are not able to use an AT&T SIM on your Verizon HTC 10, you can always flash the unlocked firmware.
You can follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-10/how-to/guide-aosp-roms-booting-vzw-10-via-t3487903
Since you will not need to use a Verizon SIM, you can skip the part about deleting the .img files.
Hello all,
Attached are modified factory roms that will flash an at&t or t-mobile phone to an unlocked phone. This means no more bloatware and in my case much better handoff between the lte bands.
These images reuse the carrier bootloader (I'm working on it) but everything else from the radio to the rom is from the unlocked priv.
Version: AAJ919
AT&T -> unlocked hybrid: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=673368273298947044
T-Mobile -> unlocked hybrid: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767153589
Directions: Unzip files. Hold power and volume down until phone reboots to fastboot. Launch flashall.bat. Follow instructions. This WILL delete your data so have a backup or don't I'm your boss. Wait. Done.
As usual I am not responsible for you bricking your phone. That being said even if the wrong file is flashed the phone gets stuck at the fastboot screen where you can flash the right file.

This does not unlock your phone, this is an unlocked rom with no carrier bloatware.
You must already have an unlocked phone. If your phone is paid off call your carrier and ask for the pin.

I tried it and it worked. However, once it boots it will install a software update which takes you back to the bloated VZW version. Perhaps there's a way to block that update?

Totally possible. If we had root just modify the host file and set the verizon server update ip to localhost. You should be able to install DNS66 and do something similar. This will take digging on your end to figure out what the update IP is though.
I have an ATT Priv, so if I flash this I'll get next time OTA from BlackBerry instead of ATT? Saw the one above with the Verizon update and went back to bloated version.
Reporting back in to verify that it worked flawlessly on both at&t and t-mobile variants I have. Now if only we could get root lol
Thank you so much for your effort
I have an ATT branded Priv which got unlocked from ATT directly and has successfully installed this ROM. It works perfectly without any ATT bloatwares, but this built is old and when I check for system update it shows my system is up to date. However the most recent built for unlocked factory image is AAL202 according to the blackberry official reload software website.
So does this ROM OTA updates via ATT server or directly from Blackberry server?

With the very recent Verizon Priv update can the de-bloated image be updated?
Yesterday, I flashed the international OOS in my TMO 6t then unlocked the bootloader and rooted it.
However I never SIM unlocked the device beforehand.
Can the device be sim unlocked with root access?
Additional question, what bad may happen flashing stock TMO branded OOS on my bootloader unlocked device?
What I've seen recommended is to use the MSM tool to flash back to T-mobile software and then request the SIM unlock.

You would have to go back TMO version and request permanent unlock. T-Mobile can only do this or pay a third party to do it. When I got mine on release date I told TMO I was going overseas and gave me an unlock right away. The unlock app is not supported on the international version it'll give you an app not supported if you try to sideload it.

Okay lol just clarifying, but yeah only way is to go back to TMO stock rom and request the permanent unlock through the app after your imei has been whitelisted. As for flashing TMO rom on top of international, your best bet would be to use the TMO MSMtool to go back to stock.
