Titanium backup Marshmallow Issue - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

Hi I recently rooted my phone and it shows it has access to root etc but whenever i press to freeze an app it keeps telling me it's frozen which is a lie because when i press the same app it still shows the button for me to freeze..not unfreeze. Is there some way to fix this? I never had this kind of issue when I had kitkat

anyone? :-/

Mine works on MM ok - both on stock and custom ROM's. I would try delete it (make sure its backups are safely on External SD first) and then reinstall from Play Store. That has cured glitches for me in the past.

Titanium Backup FC

I have rooted my Vibrant but when i try to back up my apps, titanium back fc's anyone else having this issue?
Yes i'm having the same problem also...wonder if there's a possible fix for this.
Can anyone else confirm that titanium backup is not working?
I sent the developer my logcat. hopefully he can resolve this issue...
I am also having force close issues. Can usually restore an app or two then it force closes on me.
Broken for me too.

I was able to do a backup, but the odd thing is none of my apps showed up at all. Just system settings. But no FC's.
would one of you take a logcat and post it. I will then proceed to send to the developer to see if we can get this fixed.
i have been working w/ the dev, i can confirm this is fixed and i assume there will be an update soon.
EDIT: attached the patched 3.3.0 version.
Awesome news, I had the same problems!
Hi everyone,
I don't own a Samsung phone so thanks a lot for your help in solving this.
The bug-fixed version 3.3.1 is released on the Market, and backups should work fine now.
I'll be adding more Samsung love in the future
Have a great Sunday !
It now works but it still wont detect my user apps after the update.
I never had fc's, but Titanium hasn't been able to back up my apps. I'm assuming it isn't looking in the right place for them, but not sure if there is an option to change that.

I do not have that issue. however depending on the size of the apps being installed it can take a bit of time to install. Does it say it is restoring or anything or nothing at all?

it just sits there at 0% on whatever app is first. if i close it out that first app manages to install but without data. the one time i did leave it on for around 10 mins it managed to install two apps.
is there any special thing i need to do before i do a restore?
note these apps are from chromatic 3.7 w/ my g1
edit: just tried new setting under restoration, although its not as fast as doing it on my g1 I managed to get things restored
I am slo having an issue where Titanium says its restoring, but just sits there doing nothing. SOmehow Ive managed to get it to restore once, but I had to wipe and now I cant get it to restore for the life of me. Tried w/ original busybox and the one that downloads inside titanium, both w/o success. Seems that titanium has some sort of issue w/ the Galaxy S.
Has anyone found a solution that allows you to restore your apps? Thanks!
EDIT: Whats really strange is if I try to hide titanium, relaunch it, and try and backup. It gives the message "backup already in progress" but for whatever reason it moves onto the next app...so strange

[Q] What is it?

Hi!
I don't know why but for some reason I lost some of my users app with data. Seems like it is the apps which were installed on my SD card. I can restore it trough the Titanium backup.
Can somebody explain what is going on and how can I prevent it in the future?
Thank you!
Edit: After I turned my Epic off and then turned it on again, everything was ok. I still don't know what it was but it was the apps installed on SD Card.
Did you flash a rom and then restored things thru titanium or any app?
This happens sometimes when google sends out an update to the market. The market cache just needed to be reset. Thats why a reboot fixed it.

No. I did nothing like this. As I understand, before it happened my Epic did quick reboot by itself. Some of the program was causing it.

[Q] LauncherPro Plus keeps refreshing - possible SD Card issue?

I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope this will do...
All of a sudden today my MT4G with LauncherPro Plus keeps refreshing or restarting or something on the home screen. Sometimes it does it every minute or so other times it does it so rapidly the home screen isn't even showing up before it does it again.
Worst part aside from the annoying bright flash every time it happens is that it kicks me out of apps to do it.
It's not a Force Close and no errors pop up it just refreshes to the Home screen as if I hit the Home button or restarted LauncherPro.
I am so confused.
I have no new apps recently, but I did Root a few days ago using The Unlockr's Visionary root.sh method. Had no problems when doing it and phone has been fine since until this. No custom ROM yet, still on Stock 2.2.1 while I research which one I want to get.
I already wrote to the LauncherPro people who thought it might be because Keep in Memory was checked, but it isn't checked so no help there.
There was one point when I unmounted my SD card to put it in the pc to get to the files because this issue kept kicking me out of Astro and I couldn't get anything done. And while the card was out, it did not do it. As soon as the card was back in though it started up again.
Sometimes restarting LP will help, but other times it will make it go more frequently. So frustrating.
Can anyone help or at least point me in the right direction. I have a video of it if that will help to post it, but it doesn't show much, just the home screen restarting several times. Also happy to provide any more info anyone thinks might be helpful it stopping this.
Thanks so much!
Jen
Uninstall it then reinstall it can't u back up your settings if so when reinstall restore settings hopes this helps

Yes, I have my settings backed up and I've tried to uninstall it, but I can't stay in the market or manage apps long enough to do it, it keeps kicking me out. Is there another way to get to the uninstall screen for it?
This is way to Uninstall a app from pc you have to have adb install on your computer before doing this. blog.artuc.net/how-to-uninstall-android-applications-via-your-computer/

OK thank you very much I will check that out tomorrow. Don't want to try something new half asleep. LOL
Uninstall didn't work :-( it's still doing it. Not quite as frequently but bad enough I am still getting kicked out of apps. I'm wondering if it is even a launcherpro issue since I never had a problem before yesterday. Any and all suggestions, help, advice and ideas welcome. I'll try anything this is driving me crazy!
Lol try the Uninstall method but instead install another launcher then press the home button to choice the newly installed launcher and see if that works ?
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Tried ADW Launcher and it did the same thing :-( Guess it is not LP after all. I put LP back and reboot. As of now it is not doing it, but I am very afraid to reboot or do anything in case it starts up again LOL
Can't help wondering if when I flash a new ROM it might stop altogether...

well depending on what ROM you have installed (Im assuming stock froyo after reading the OP), just run the ROM Manager app and then "reboot into recovery". from there, the recovery screen comes up. you can then "wipe cache partition", then "advanced>wipe dalvik cache". finally, "advanced>fix permissions" and after its done you can then reboot your phone. this USUALLY fixes a lot of problems with FC's and other issues

Update: It has continued to do it, not constantly, and seemingly randomly, but yeah, not totally fixed. Going to flash the new CM7, trying to fix other issues, maybe that will help.
I did try your above advice, wiped the caches, fixed permissions... it was stable for a few days then started up again. Really bad at first, like I wasn't even seeing the screen before it flashed again repeatedly. That was about a week or so ago... Now it is still doing it but every couple minutes instead. I mostly don't notice it unless I am in one of the apps it kicks me out of when it happens. Really really annoying. hopefully the new ROM will help.
Has anyone else been having this problem or found a solution. I've been trying to flash a new ROM this weekend, but can't stay in any apps long enough to prepare the phone for it. Titanium Backup and ROM Manager keep closing because of the launcher restarts. Not force closes, they just exit out and go back to the home screen which just keeps refreshing. I can't stay in Apps2Sd Pro long enough to move apps, can't stay in the market to update apps, and can't uninstall anything, I can't even stay in Astro long enough to do anything. It's driving me insane and I really want to make sure as many apps as I can are moved to the SD card and backed up to flash the new ROM. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] "com.google.process.gapps message wont dissapear

Hi everyone! I recently decided to install the 4.4.2 rom on my Galaxy Note 3 N9005 and I didn't like it because it obviously was buggy as ,entioned in the thread. So I wanted to go back to my nandroid backup which I had made before installing the rom. It all went right in CWM and no errors, so I rebooted my phone and got stuck at the glowing samsung logo, so after many fixes and things I tried which didn't work I flashed a pre-rooted stock rom for it and it all went well. I managed to restore to my nandroid finally and then I unlock my phone to find a "com.google.process.gapps has been stopped" message which wont go away when I tap "OK". It just comes back and gives me one second untill it comes back again. I really need help since I need my phone for work, I have tried reinstalling all the gapps, wont work, I have tried reflashing the stock rom and restoring my nandroid again, I have tried deactivating "Downloads" in the app manager but that wont fix it either and finally I have tried clearing the "app data" for all my apps but again, no luck. If anyone would be able to help me I would appriciate it very much. Thanks in advance!
You're probably gonna have to go back to complete stock. Grab your stock image and flash via odin, boot it up and see if it gives you the error without installing custom recovery and your backup. That way you'll know where the error lays.

Forgot to mention but when I return to complete stock there isn't such a message, only when I restore to my nandroid. I also tried restoring from an older backup which I had made like 2 months ago and the same problem remains, "com.google" message is still there. Any suggestions or should I just start over?

Sounds like a dodgy backup or it somehow got corrupted, I'd start over to save any headaches for future reference -- It's a headache I know, but safer I think. You could hang five, see if anyone else chimes in with any other ideas though

A nandroid backup is simple but monolithic. Most people also use Titanium Backup for the ability to restore selective stuff, or to restore to a completely different model of phone.
I had same issue
Bith titanium and nandroid restore.
Well only way to save your self. Completing wizard of first startup with feeling google..
And just restore user apps and data with titanium except google stuff..
This is the only healthy restore method so far i know that gapss.com keeps kool

So I somehow managed to go to settings and disable Play Services with the one second time line that I had before the message appears again, and the message stopped. So it must be something with Play Services. Since i'm new to android (and the Note 3 is my first android phone) I want to ask if there is a way to maybe reinstall Plaay Services?

Hi, there! I just got almost the same issue like you. Once update to custom 4.4.2, any nandroid backups which worked right before getting GAPPS' FC constantly. :crying: Try double wipes, flash 4.3 gapps full package, stop&restart android download, uninstall google play store update, etc. nothing can fix it. Only way stop the popup error, is flash stock rom. But, consequently, lose root access, even with the same method that rooted the stock rom before. I'll heard some guy said the 4.4.2 has different partition from 4.3 or older android rom. But don't mention how to restore the old partition way. So, hope anyone can help us out, thanks a lot.

(Problem) After rooting my phone by CF root, my phone is laggy

Two days ago i have decided to root my phone by CF root, then my phone is became laggy, its not that smooth like before, even when im browsing google with dolphin its laggy, even flipping the Touchwiz screen isnt smooth too, should i just unroot the phone or what?
Root in no way effects performance. If all you did was root it's in your head.

Yes you need to uninstall Xposed because it's a known issue that it causes massive lag and kills S Health.

There are a lot of CWM Guides over internet.

Once you get used to it, troubleshooting your phone is not a prob anymore
