You must flash the stock recovery of your current firmware using fastboot (or flashify )
I Will tell you what i did :
1.flash stock recovery by fastboot
2.disabled root via supersu app
3.put the update.app on dload file
4.i wrote numbers on the dialer ( i dont remember) to flash the update.app( because i couldnt flash it via the stock recovery.
5. You won't lose your data but the bootloader Will be locked

[ADB SIDELOAD] SuperSU flashable zip

Hi folks!
Where find I one SuperSU.zip file to root my device through ADB SIDELOAD (stock recovery)?
My device:
- Boot loader LOCKED;
- UNroot;
- 4.4.3 stock.
I don't wanna install a custom recovery neither unlock the boot loader.
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance.

To flash the super su zip you need a custom recovery, for that you need to unlock the bootloader. You can find it by Google "supersu zip file xda"

You can just boot into the custom recovery
fastboot boot recovery.img. You'll just boot into and not install it. Once you boot into it flash supersu. You're retain the stock recovery. You can then re-lock the bootloader if you want.
Oh, as an fyi, when you take an ota you do lose root so you may want to consider leaving the bootloader unlocked so you don't have to wipe your device again after the ota if you want to root it again

Hey jed1639,
Is it possible to adb sideload the superSu.zip file on a galaxy S6 with Android 6.0 beta and encrypted mememory on it? Because, if I try to install the .zip file via the given Custom Recovery (PhilZ touch recovery) then I get the following error:
E: Can't mount /sdcard
This frustrates me. Could you help me?
Edit: Fixed! It works

L04 b141 update how can I apply?

how can I apply the updater after flashing custom recovery (twrp)?
Basically you can't, applying OTA requires stock recovery.
And just one thing, 1.64GB for an update? I mean there isn't much in the changelog

I was notified about the update on the phone and then just pressed the update now button and it restarted in TWRP and installed by itself

OK, here is an update. I am rooted with TWRP and have been waiting for the full update package to become available. As of just yesterday the full update package is in the updater app on the phone. You must be connected to wifi for it to appear. Open updater, click on menu on the bottom, download latest FULL package B141. After DL it WILL FLASH THROUGH TWRP but you will lose root and TWRP. Let it do its thing then reflash TWRP through ADB and SU after that and you are good to go on the new update.

give logcat
Here
if u are in stock firmware flash original stock boot image via twrp or adb (pc). u can get stock boot image in update.app (based on ur phone model) extract it with huawei update extractor.
but if u are in custom rom, u must extract that boot image from that rom then flash. if successful, u can flash magisk.
Can i do this without a pc

Hi everyone, recently I downloaded the latest update from huawei system updater and then I wanted to flash it with flashfire but when it restarts it says "check_write_data_to_partition,write data error" and "update_huawei_pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed" then it reboot normaly without system changes, what can I do?
edit:
in the head of the log it says olso:
"mountencrypt: failed to mount /data: success"
It's pretty ambiguous...

Couldn't update Installation problem with august update

So this week i hadn't time enough to install the august update since my phone is rooted so i decided to do it now. What i did before trying to download the update :
1.Deleted all magisk modules that i had then rebooted
2.Unistalled magisk using restore image then rebooted
3.Went to sys update downloaded and it says installation failed
What do to? I'm not rooted now and i don't have twrp installed.
PS. don't want to install it via fastboot/miflash
Follow this guide in future. https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tips.md#ota-installation-tips
To fix your problem now, find a stock boot image for your update version you are currently on and flash it.

If you don't want to use Miflash (Why ?) you can boot temporary TWRP and flash .zip here:

I'm facing same issue and I was following the guide.
Same here, can't install set Ota, even after remove magisk.
Other thing, cell won't show screen to put pin to boot, previous pin of sim so I think encryption is disable!? Any idea?
