I'm on Viper. Have my SD Card installed as internal storage. Over the past month, the SD card randomly disappears, and everything on my phone (GO SMS) defaults to stock.
I have to restart the phone for it to fix. Doing a soft restart will not fix it.
Any ideas? It's a PNY 128GB card.

So, no idea what causes this. But the phone was fine till this Saturday night, it died Sunday morning, I charged it back to 100%.
Ever since then, when is start the phone it will boot up, on the notifications bar it will have "Preparing SD Card" - "Checking for Errors" and then reboot itself. And do it over and over again.
I took out the SD Card and put it back in, same issue.
Phone boots up properly without the SD card in there.
I haven't put anything on the SD card for around 2-3 weeks since I last synced my music. And music and some pictures is all there is on the SD Card. All applications are installed to Internal phone memory.
I am lost, what can I do? I can't even format the SD card if the phone doesn't stay on.
try formatting the card via pc with a memory card reader.
Had a similar problem. Had to put the sdcard in a card reader. Found some corrupt files on the card. Copied what I could to the pc, reformated the card, and copied everything back to card. Worked fine afterwards.
Hi All,
I just installed XBmod-Yuki with SD card inserted. My sdcard is a Transcend 8GB Class 6, which I saw reports of success.
At first glance the SD card seems supported, 7GB free space reported. I even managed to sync my songs to it.
But then when I long press on the red power-off button and reboot the phone, a message appears like "SD Card not detected"...
The only choice I have is Emergency call or Turn Off. I need to hard reset to pass this dialog, after which my sdcard is recognized again but of course all my data is lost. Reboot again, and sdcard is gone!
I managed to upgrade to 7.0.7403 without sdcard inserted. But I can't go further and the problem remains.
Does anybody have a suggestion?
Thanks.
Sorry guys, it was because of the SD card. I just bought a Sandisk 8 GB Class 4 (SDSDQM-008G-B35N) and it works now even after rebooting.
So i started using a 64GB sd card, transfered about 11GB of app data pver, and began filling more. All of a sudden android OS usage went skyrocketing, and the storage menu reports the internal memory as being 120% full (i.e. impossible). Backed up sd card and reformatted, no luck. Issue does not persist when sd card is unmounted.
hi all, so I had 6.0 stock on my moto while using a Lexar MicroSDXC 633x 128GB formatted as internal storage and all was well with the world.
I've since unlocked my bootloader, wiped, and rooted/xposed.
Now when i first reformatted my sd card, Android OS gave me a "your sd card appears to be slow" message. I ignored it, but now I'm seeing problems related to the sd card. for example: titanium backup was one the apps the system moved to the sd card, and it reboots on launch rarely. other apps installed on the sd card have uninstalled themselves completely after a reboot....very weird.
I've already moved my apps off the sd card and reformatted it back to portable storage with the hope that I can pull it and run a chkdsk on it and try again, but wondering if anyone else has any ideas...thanks!
I have recently purchased a SanDisk Extreme Micro SD 64gb SD card for my S7 Edge.
On Android 6.0 I had various issues writing to it. Since the Nougat upgrade it has worked faultlessly until this morning. The phone will not detect it at all.
Is there a compatibility issue with this card or is it simply faulty ?
Sounds like the issue could be the card. It's happened to me with the same SD card.
Connect the sd card to a computer using a SD card reader.
Backup all your data.
Put the SD card in the phone and choose to format it.
Connect SD card to computer and put all files back on the SD card.
Put SD card back in the phone and should work as normal.
That worked for me.
