So i started using a 64GB sd card, transfered about 11GB of app data pver, and began filling more. All of a sudden android OS usage went skyrocketing, and the storage menu reports the internal memory as being 120% full (i.e. impossible). Backed up sd card and reformatted, no luck. Issue does not persist when sd card is unmounted.

I have upgraded my phone to marshmallow. I formatted my sd card to use as external storage. Now I want to change my sd card to class 10 type. I bought one memory card. How can I transfer all files from previous card to new card without any data loss? I have not tried anything as while formatting present sd as internal storage it showed that card would not be recogniged by any other system from now.
hi all, so I had 6.0 stock on my moto while using a Lexar MicroSDXC 633x 128GB formatted as internal storage and all was well with the world.
I've since unlocked my bootloader, wiped, and rooted/xposed.
Now when i first reformatted my sd card, Android OS gave me a "your sd card appears to be slow" message. I ignored it, but now I'm seeing problems related to the sd card. for example: titanium backup was one the apps the system moved to the sd card, and it reboots on launch rarely. other apps installed on the sd card have uninstalled themselves completely after a reboot....very weird.
I've already moved my apps off the sd card and reformatted it back to portable storage with the hope that I can pull it and run a chkdsk on it and try again, but wondering if anyone else has any ideas...thanks!
Hi,
I formatted my external Sandisk SD Card 16GB as internal storage. Went to my native place and took tons of photos and videos. Everything was working good. Suddenly while coming back my phone lagged a lot and after a restart it failed to detect the SD Card. The problem still persists. I am feeling really bad for the photos and videos I will be loosing from it.
Need help in getting all my data back.
I did a little research and found out that the SD card is encrypted in the external-to-internal process and so any PC recovery applications wont be useful.
Did any one else face this issue?
Thanks
Did you migrated any Data to the Internal ? . If so just Migrate them back to the SD Card . Now you should be able to reformat as portable as the Format to Portable would be available.
This disappearance of either Internal Storage or External SD Card is caused because Android excludes to display the Storage Disk which has less files on it . So It doesn't show it . I had the issue but resolved it by re-migrating data from my SD CARD to INTERNAL which i migrated to my SD Card . Then I had the option to Format to Portable ( In the drop down menu of Storage & USB ) . Hit the Thanks If I helped you out
I'm on Android 7.1.1 resurrection remix, and I often get the message that my storage space is insufficient. I checked the storage info and it says that for example my Spotify is using 2gb, while the Spotify app says it's saving onto the SD card.
I installed link2sd and checked the storage info, and it shows my internal data, SD card and external SD card. I think the problem here is that the SD card is the same as my internal data, and apps are saving to this partition (see screenshot).
Is there any way I can fix this? For example by removing the "wrong" SD card partition? Right now this is causing a lot of issues, since I only have ~14gb to use instead of the ~46gb I'd normally be able to use.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Guys,
My dad receive hundrets of picture in whatsapp everyday, making his internal memory go to full on a weekly basis.
My question is: when formatting it as an internal memory, will those pics & videos go to the SD card after formatting it ?
Can someone with an SD card as internal memory configuration confirm me that?
SD card will become internal memory, one and the same. So essentially no more sd card. However, if you don't treat sd card as internal memory then you can tell the camera and other apps to save their files on the sd card and therefore have control what goes where.
