does link2sd work on s7 edge - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

did anyone install link2sd on the 7e
or can we get real tweak to move big game apps and data that we choose to sdcard, like something we used to have link2sd in previous phones
when i press in setting to move for example AC Identity which is a 2 giga game, it does not move it all to sd card, it barely moves few mb only
i know there is a tweak where u make your whole sd card seen as an internal memory but that is not what i want as the whole phone starts to act up and gets slow
I want to be in control of which apps and data to move totally to sdcard for individual apps

I know there's an Xposed module called "OBB on SD" that works perfectly on the S7/edge, but I didn't try link2sd though

if works on ur phone can u tell me how, I installed the module from xposed and rebooted and in the setting of obb to sd I checked all settings?
I really hope you can help me to get this to work

Samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 SM-T210
Either go to setting->apps choose the app you want to move, tap on it, and then tap "move to sd card", or use some app like clean master (it does many other things too)

I use it too! good!
use this app / WAPKInstallManager...
if you are using a custom rom chances are it supports external and internal storage swap which means external sd will be considered internal , you can do that by either an option in settings/storage/storage config and check use internal as external (or something like that) or you can edit build.prop , for gameloft games you can use gl2sd from play store , you'll be able to move the cache to external sd , you can also use directory bind which binds the path of a folder in external sd to a folder that you choose (android/data/ in your case) , afaik link2sd only installs apks in sd card not game cache (external sd storage is slower so i dont advice you to do that for games ) , i hope i helped u

Steps for how to free your Device Memory/ Device Storage/ Internal SD Card

Hi everybody. at-last i did what is the title of this thread and thought i will share it with u guys.be advised u may brick your phone and your warranty is void now.
1. below mentioned steps works on rooted s4 mini (Stock ROM or [ROM][i919x]S5 Mini Lollipop Port v2.5)
3. backup everything of your device like contacts, sms, apps, both internal and extrenal sd card etc etc (i used shareit app to backup my internal sd card to my pc)
2. i started by clean installation of [ROM][i919x]S5 Mini Lollipop Port v2.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/s5-s4-mini-t2987500)
3. just after completing installation i made partition of my external sd card to use link2sd (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432459) (i bought link2sd plus new from market to support developer)
4. after that i put all my backup back and started installing apps back (apps got installed on second partition of ext sd card>change settings in link2sd to AUTO LINK)
5. now head over to xposed installer and install it
6. now install module obb on sd
7. after that copy all apk obb in device storage/android/obb to their respective ext sd/android/obb
8. last problem was how to copy data of some apps like DioDict4 or Medscape to ext sd card and make apks work.i experimented a lot and asked for help which was in vain so lets proceed to final steps now (above mentioned apk or others like them does not download data to android/data or android/obb but like this device storage/diodict4 or device storage/medscape)
9. install this play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount)
10. it is simple to use this app.i did like this for DioDict4.i created folder named DioDict4 in ext sd card and than opened folder mount than + sign than selected source (device storage/DioDict4) and app selected destination automatically than copy yes>wait it to finish than pinned it.
That is it guys.please hit thanks if u find this thread useful.i dedicate this thread to all people like me :highfive:

Large games on sd card

Hello,
I was searching for a way to put large games like (asphalt 8, nova3, and any other games) on sd card on my rooted samsung galaxy s4 because the internal storage is very low and about to be full.
First i tried to use the file manager i have sent the odd file and the apk(which in the data folder) but the game didn't work, it was searching for required files and asked to download them.
Then i tried many apps which need root acces on my device to send the games on sd card but i got the same problem...
Is there are any way to send the game on sd card and make it work there?
Thanks.
try app2sd...it is on play store ?
I have already tried it but it send the apk file only i want app or any way to send the apk and the odd to the sd card and make it work there.
This depends on what rom you're using.
You could try Folder Mount
Actually all these apps aren't useful i can already use any file manager to send the game files to the sd card but the problem is when i add the game to sd card when i open the game it dont find the game's files.
And about which rom am i using i didn't get it and how to know my rom?
I use the xposed module Obb2SD, so all my games are moved to SD card then the Obb files are also moved onto the SD card.
I am using a custom Rom.

If you are using the stock samsung rom then you just have to go to Manage apps and find the game you want to move and the press "Move to sd card".
Moving the apps manually will not work.
Folder Mount will move the app data to the sd card and trick the system into thinking it's on the internal storage.
I have just used folder mount by sending the game files (the folder in the data and its folder in the odd) but the game won't find their files
Did you get the phone new? Did you flash any custom rom on it or is it the stock samsung firmware that comes with the phone?
The only thing i have done with my phoned is rooting it with a custom recovery, there is no any custom roms im just using just the stock rom.
Then the rom should have the option to move apps to sd.
I know that my stock 4.4.2 samsung firmware had that option.
Go to settings > apps > downloaded, and tap any app you want to move. There should be an option "move to sd card" or something like that.

Apps write on internal SD-Card only even with Android 4.4 SD-Fix

I slowly look there no longer. I have rooted my S3 Neo initially quite normal and provided with CWM as it has been explained in various tutorials. Then I fixed the Android 4.4 write access issue with the "NextApp SDFix" from Android market. With the "ES File Explorer" and "Total Commander" I could normally rename files on the SD card, copy and move.
However, to me the practical effect is associated with all apps, which store data automatically on the SD card very mysterious, because instead of the SD card, they will continue stored internally namely in "/storage/Emulated/0". I tested this with "Dead Trigger 2", which is usually stores the game data in "Android/OBB". In Application Manager I have the opportunity the app to move itself to the correct SD card (.android_secure directory), but just the app itself and not the game data wich stay in the internal, emulated SD-Card.
For my previous smartphone, an Ace 2 NFC (I8160P) there was a fix for it to fit the "vold.fstab" to file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28419837#post28419837
I could find only a tutorial changing the internal memory with the real SD-Card for the normal S3, which, however, is probably not compatible with the S3 Neo: http://android-hilfe.digidip.net/visit?url=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036796 - Or should I try it so anyway?
At first the question: Why the Kitkat-Fix is at all useful, if it does not help in practice and the data continues to be stored internally? The only thing that has been directly accessed files to the correct SD card was the photo app but that's about it.
Update: I just see that it also provides an Android folder on the right SD card as well as in the emulated and actually reside in folders and the installed apps, including "Dead Trigger 2". However, the folder unlike emulated SD card are completely empty. What does that have to mean again?
I hope somebody can help me ans find a solution as I can't use my external SD-Card for most game datas or apps as planned or I will send back my S3 Neo tomorrow.
PLEASE!!! Can somebody help me???
do you use xposed? there are a couple of modules that allows you to use obb files from sdcard. Personally i use "xinternal". those ps apps never worked for me also.
Use Folder Mount
I use a xposed module called "HandleExternalStorage" and it works like a charm! Try it yourself!
Good luck

Link2SD or similar - SM-G360T

I've spent the last two days looking around online for different ways to use my SD card as internal storage in my phone. I was able to successfully root, but Link2SD, Int2Ext, and other apps have been unsuccessful, always with the same problem. Unable to mount. I've tried partitioning as ext2, 3, and 4, with no luck. USB debugging is enabled, as well as SU access on boot. I've checked every forum I could find (not many) regarding different ways to use an SD card as internal storage, but always get this same error. I've also tried searching for fixes to the "unable to mount" error, with no luck.
I'm feeling really stuck now. I feel like it should be much easier to use external storage this way, especially using android.
Does anyone have any experience/ideas that might help? (Besides buying a new phone.)

Yes. This is quite the problem for this device, as there is not really very much internal space. I tried all the same things that you did when I first got the device too. The problem is that the internal SD is emulated, which confuses apps like Link2SD and makes them think that the emulated internal SD(/storage/emulated/0/), which is an emulated mirror of the actual internal SD(/storage/sdcard0/), is actually the external, so you will get messages like, "No need to move the items as they are the same location." You would need to disable the internal SD emulation in order to ever hope to move your apps and/or system stuff to the external. This was actually done by someone for my last device, the LG L70. This guy made a flashable file that disabled the emulated internal SD, which allowed you to do whatever you wanted with your internal and external space.

In the meantime though, you can try and clear space in other ways. If you have the Xposed Framework installed(recommended), then you can use some Xposed modules to move some stuff to your external SD. More info on installing Xposed here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67909185&postcount=393
Some modules you can try which I use and I can say actually work on this device are:
- Downloads2SD: Allows you to change the default download locations for videos, music, pictures you take or download and other miscellaneous downloads so that they automatically go to the external. Actually does save a lot of space and time.
- Obb on SD: This is handy if you play games that take up a lot of space. It moves the sometimes huge Obb data folder for those to the external.
(NOTE: Both of these will also require you to install and run an app from the Play Store called SDFix by NextApp first.)
You can also flash SlimPickins rom, which is a completely debloated rom that takes up a lot less internal space:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...rom-slimpickins-stock-rooted-bloated-t3250883
For more info on debloating and creating more space on this device you can also check out this old debloating thread I made too here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...oating-sm-g360t1-sm-g360t-easy-guide-t3260136
You can also search the Play Store for light alternatives to your current apps. A great example of one I use now is called "Swipe". It's a super light Facebook app that looks and functions exactly the same, but cuts off about 300mbs+ of the space taken up by the original.
In short though, there is really no other way right now to clear up space on the SM-G360T/SM-G360T1. Hope this helps!

Hi,
I have a Core PrimeSM-G361F with pre-rooted firmware and I am successfully using Link2SD.
Did you format and create two partitions on your internal microSD? I think this is necessary. Check out this tutorial:
