Hi,
I am having trouble rooting my phone, indeed, when I go to download mode, my phone version number is: SM-G9006v, BUT when I go in about phone, the number is SM-G900F.
As I bought this phone on amazon, not from official samsung, I'm gonna bet it's the G9006v sold by some chinese as the G900F.
They probably changed the stock firmware version number.
Anyhow, my problem is that KingRoot or one click root or any other root software detects it as the G900F, so they fail because it is NOT the 900F.
Is there anyway I can tell KingRoot to use the 9006V method ? Or is there any trick I could do to root this phone ? (I can't find any ODIN images for it)
Thanks !
its getting info from your build prop,
whats the sticker say on the back of phone
post your build.prop

Also it has 185 Secret Codes (so I'm guessing it's not a fake)
Moreover, the Knox has been void, but it has always been on 0x1 ! Since the day I got it !
So basically it has been flashed before I even bought it new XD
SM-G9006V = China Mobile (WCDMA network)
what country/network are u in
does current sim work for your network for calls and data and what signal do u get now, 3g, lte, hspa etc
sammobile fw for 9006v http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G9006V/
Yes,
I am on Ultra Mobile (AT&T sub contractor) And it works great, the phone is fully unlocked and worked in Japan on Docom and France on Free...
In the 3 countries, I got 4G data (LTE for US, not sure for japan or france)
What should I do with the stock ROM ?
Should I reflash the phone with the stock chinese ROM ? (ahahah that's gonna be fun with kanji based menu to find my way around XD)
I'd rather Root this build, than learn chinese xD
oh, i thought u wanted stock.
how does it fail when flashing for root, whats the error message.
So if I try with ODIN,
It loads the 900F file, uploads it reboot, and then goes onto a Recovery boot loop
Loading recovery ...
Reboor
Loading Recovery ...
reboot
I can unbrick it by uploading philz klte recovery, BUT I still can't reach the recovery menu
Sadly there is no ODIN root file for the 9006v
If I use King Root (or towel root) it basically tries the 900F method, and then tells me it could not root it.
if it truly is a 9006v twrp has a recovery for it , its code name is kltechn and u use odin to flash the tar image
https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys5qualcomm.html
it seems 9006v is the same kltechn as these SM-G9008V, SM-G9006W, SM-G9008W, SM-G9009W

Just after some advice please guys. I just bought an s4 ( in australia ). 1.9 processor and the usuall other stuff but this s4 is the arctic blue model with 16gb internal storage.
I can't find enough consistant information about this model on the forums. I couldn't even find the corresponding firmware for the phone on samsung website so i checked if there was an update for the phone....there was and i downloaded. The below are the new details for the phone. All i want to do is root the phone and remove as much bloatware as possible without downloading any roms or any boot animations etc etc.
1) Where can i get the corresponding samsung firmware?

GPS Status shows me both GPS and GLONASS.
CPU Identifier reports CPU is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T x4
My concern stems from the Build Number being DONGCHOU.V1 being that Dongchou is a city in China, the various CSC codes being CHN, the model reporting as GT-i9500 but the Product Code reporting as SGH-I337ZRACHN.
I've been unable to get root on this phone nor can I load a recovery.
Does anyone recognize the DONGCHOU.V1 build number? Or give me a pointer to how I can root and/or flash a custom recovery?
This appears to be exactly what it seems: a 9500 with AT&T firmware. And whenever I see people saying they purchased one of these off ebay I tell them to return the phone and purchase off Swappa instead. You may have a lot of work ahead of you to get this working, and even if you do you still have to deal with AT&T's encrypted bootloader in customizing the device.
Note that the 9500 is not available in the US, and thus NO 9500 should ever have AT&T firmware.
So if it's a 9500 with AT&T firmware, then it either wasn't made by Samsung or it was modified after manufacture. (If I put my tinfoil hat on, I could come up with all kinds of nasty scenarios.) Either way, it's going to be difficult or impossible to do anything with it.
Thanks for your help.
Modified after manufacture more likely. Posts regarding these phones have been coming up with some frequency over the last two months, and in each case the phone turned out to be an AT&T S4 with modified or otherwise incorrect firmware. Yours may be the first where the device is correct but the firmware wrong, but I wouldn't bother cracking open the phone to find out.

hi guys, i have got a Samsung s4 which is showing a circle sign within line in it at network. i checked the IMEI in about is "null" & even in *#06#. i tried to re-flash it with Odin 3.09 it says "fail (auth)". i tried to delete data & cache in recovery mode but suddenly checked it is showing SGH-I337 in there. i am totally confused whether i have Samsung i9505 or i337 in my hands.

for me is false, i9500 uses Exynos , not Qualcomm Snapdragon 600
I missed that about the CPU when the post was made back in January, and thus the OP's device is just like all the other Frankenphones.Even so, my advice to return the phone applies regardless.

hello bro...have you got any help???? What have you done to your mobile???
Hello guys. I am from chile and i am new here and would you mind help me with a problem in my Galaxy S5?
I bought this phone in aliexpress. I guess the hardware is genuine. But the software have some weird thing.
My phone is G900F version. But in the Download mode the version is G900T?? Is that wrong?
Also, in the menu of android recovery system is G900T too. But when i extract the battery i can see Model: G900F
I am not sure what is the correct model, and i think that the software was modified, because Knox is 0x1.
Yesterday, i treid to update the Android from 4.4.2 to 5.0 with Odin using an oficial ROM from Sammobile. I used a ROM G900F, but the process failed every time.
Is the Android Recovery Modified? What is the correct model? I think that correct model is G900F because is appears behind the phone but now i am not sure, and still i cant update to lollipop
I wait for your help
Thanks

it sounds like they had a G900T phone that probably had no battery or a crappy one and decided to switch it with a battery from a G900F model for whatever reason. I'm sure the phone itself is a G900T, but it's hard to tell.
They could also have flashed a G900T ROM on a G900F, i think.
IMEI Info
Days ago i checked the IMEI info about my phone. The website say that the model is G900T
But it is weird. IMEI, Download mode and system recovery say: G900T, but Behind the phone (extracting the battery) i see G900F and in Settings: About Device: base band is G900F, compilation number is 2jia478.G900F and model number SM-G900F.
¿What is the correct version? Because when I tried update manually to lollipop with a ROM G900F, Odin said: FAILED.
¿Have I to try with G900T ROM? Because G900T ROM from sammobile is for T-Mobile and It is for USA and I am from Chile.
Is there a problem with that? (Doesnt exist ROM G900T for Chile, just for USA)

Hi everyone,
I bought a secondhand S8 but I am confused what version is it. Under "About Phone", it says the model is a SM-G950F. When I did a IMEI check online, it says it a SM-G950UZSASPR
So which model do I have exactly? A SM-G950F or a SM-G950U? It only has 1 slot for SIM card and the other for SDCard. I suspect it might have the wrong firmware inside? But the phone doesn't look like it has been rooted.
Should I be changing the firmware to something that I can use in my country (Singapore)? If so, how can I go about doing it and which version of firmware should I use? Will samsung pay not work if I root the phone and change the firmware?
Thanks in advance.

Install Phone Info Samsung from the play store.
Link here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
From there take a look at your "CSC CODE" tab, should give you the country and what carrier specific model/sw is installed.
I would update it to your country specific sw if possible.
If you root, you will not have Samsung Pay. I am not sure if majisk can hide it enough to use, maybe someone else can chime in on that more thoroughly.

Looks like you have options if you wish:
Singapore (XSP)
Singapore (MM1)
Singapore (SingTel) (SIN)
Singapore (StarHub) (STH)
I'm not too familiar with how you would need to change it, if it's even required at all. My method, me being located in the US, is much more complicated than what you would need to do. Hopefully someone else can give you more input or send you in the right direction.

There was a Hong Kong variant that was Snapdragon for the S8
The only true method would to be remove the back glass and check model of mother board
Exactly! That is what I am confused about.

It appears to be a Sprint version. But with Odin and csc files and matching sim card you can make it any us carrier
Thanks guys. The phone is indeed a SM-G950U. I managed to used Odin and flash SM-G950U1 firmware onto it. I used the XAA version with a local non-US SIM. Samsung pay seems to be working. However there is no option to enable VOLTE and the FM radio.
