Does anyone know of a method to fine tune the volume levels on this phone? I would like more levels and perhaps a lower minimum level (if possible). I know there must be something out there but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
Thanks!

A common issue I have had for a while is volume issues with various Roms.
Some roms have too low volume, sporatic volume issues and my current rom has a volume that just too high.
Is there any apps/hacks that can allow me how my phone reacts to in call volumes while on my headset?
Voodoo Controll, works great for adjusting media volume but not in call volume.
Thanks in advance.
I may just have to put something in my earbuds to mute the sound.
I am using my plantronic 975 and think that the volume is too low too!
Really want to adjust it

You hit the nail right on the head with this one. The only way to know how best to help you, is to know what version of Android you're running around with; then the tweaked ROM so we have a better idea.
There are a couple things you can do to adjust the incoming volume, with the most obvious using the volume while on the call, but you can also dive into the settings in the ROM itself to see if it has it's own individual tweak. Some ROMs come with an app to adjust it as well as you've seen so it's just a matter of finding that sweet spot. Keep in mind that you may have different settings for BT, headphones, speaker and regular ol' nothing.
Give us a little more info on your frustration, and I bet there's someone who's fixed the problem.
hello.
i'm pretty sure i saw somewhere a way of changing some system files in a rom to have a higher/lower volume sound (i'm talking about the real maximum level, not the volume like using volume buttons). i couldn't find anything about it. can anyone guide me? thatnks.
(what i want to do is to increase the maximum sound level)
I’m facing a strange and annoying problem on my Xperia X compact with LineageOS 14.1 / Android 7.1.1… During phone calls the volume is too loud even on minimum volume level. When I decrease the volume with the volumebuttons I see that it should lower the volume, but the volume remains the same. In other words, it doesn’t matter to adjust the volume level. It’s the case for both normal phone calls and also when I switch to speaker during a call.
It looks like the volumelevel for minimum and maximum are the same.
I’ve been searching in mixer_paths.xml (yes, I’ve rooted my phone), but there is too much info and I can’t find the right setting. Does anyone know what I should change, that there will be a difference between minimum and maximum volume level?
In build.prop I’ve added a command to add more steps to the volume slider. Now I’ve 14 steps in case of 6, but the minimum and maximum volume level are still the same so the steps doesn’t take any effect.
Other volume settings are ok btw.
Yes, right now it seems not to be possible to change the volume during phone calls which is very annoying. All you can currently do is setting the phone call volume in advance. Maybe one can have a look at OmniRom's settings (which have weekly builds but the terrible Google launcher and no built-in root) to work this out.
So, I'm trying to make a custom notification to use for a particular SMS source. It's a two second "Ding" sound and I've been using Audacity to set the output volume level very low. I want this to be a faint whisper of a sound.
No matter how much I lower the output level in Audacity, once saved and copied into the Notification folder on the phone, the volume come out as loud as can be.
It seems like the system is taking the file and ramping up the volume to a pre-determined level.
Is what I'm trying to accomplish not possible? I've seen several posts from users concerned with low volume levels, but not this.
THanks!
I know this subject has come up, but the responses seem pretty old and people seem to have different views about whether rooting allows the low in-call volume to be raised. So first, I just bought a g5 Plus and the volume is too low; if you're wondering if the problem still exists, it does. So have people had recent experience, either good or bad, in trying to raise the volume, and if so what did you do? If I can't raise the volume level it's going back, but if it's fixable through the mixer settings or a mixer program I might keep it and give it a shot. Thank you.
