Hi, I"m new to this whole pocket pc thing and I"m looking to find some games for my little girl that can run on my Wizard. I'm hoping to find some games that are just pure fun for her (7 y.o.) as well as some that are educational, maybe math or spelling if that exists...
And even greater fun is something like a tic tac toe game... where we can both enjoy the game.
(you shoulda seen my hand shake the first time I handed over my wizard for her to play around with a bit ) She loves the little bubbles game, the name slips my mind right now.
Anyway, Thank you all in advance and I love this forum, I hope I can contribute to it as well

perhaps the shapeshifter and zuma games?. Sorry not a real expert on Kids games but astraware tends to have a decent selection.
If your kids are able, I would really recommend Monkey Island and all of the scumm games. They had some Simon the sorceror and similar as well, perhaps sam and max? I was quite precocious at that age, and loved it... didn't do me any harm, lol!

Check the games section of: http://www.freewareppc.com
You'll find many.
Also check out the games reviews I've posted to the General forums here; for example, JumpyBall or S-Tris2 are all decent and, what is more, FREE titles.
Thank you all for your input, if you can think of more, keep them coming ...
My little girl LOOOOOOVES Zuma, at first she didn't really understand it (and she just shot the balls anywhere she pleased but as soon as she caught on that matching the colors makes them "explode" she had a great time...
I'll check out that review section right now
Again, thank you for all your help everyone.

would love to have this on Nexus
looks cool.
EDIT
Speaking of games Ill ask here instead of making a thread...on the Desire Video Promo it shows a cool looking bowling game is this real? is it on the beta ROM?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1KYffy9vaE
That maps game looks cool but in that video it lets cars go off the road, how does it know what objects you can drive through and what you can't? I would have thought it would just put invisible walls on the roads to avoid the problem
that is one ****ing bad ass bowling game..... I hope its real...I want it
This is just a tester to check it works ok,
Video took using the HTC Desire S, pretty good video recorder actually!

I have this game but hardly go on it.
It's weird, I played games on all my iPhones but after getting shut of iPhone4 for the play I seem to have stopped playing games

I hate to say it but I too preferred gaming on the iphone 4, a much much much better selection of quality games, online networks like plus, openfeint, game center etc, much better looking games, plus you got all the big name developers and indie developers making games for ios too.
Android gaming is absolute rubbish in comparison to ios, hardly any games or developers, even less quality games, the marketplace is terrible, we get poor ports from ios, none of the big names like backing android.
I love the plays gamepad but there isn't actually that many decent games to even play on it, just lucky gameloft released a few good games!
I honestly can't ever see android gaming taking off, android gaming is a total mess, the idevices already won that fight ages ago.

I didn't know people were actually using the Play to, umm, "play" anything else but emulators.
Smartphone gaming is much more casual-oriented and socially-related than console gaming will ever be, and this includes the XPlay. Plus, it seems much easier to justify spending $5 on a smartphone game than on a console game's DLC.
Sony could make a dent if they could leverage on the PlayStation side of things, but then, they shoot themselves on the foot by separating PSN purchases from the "PS Store" ones. Hell, I bought Medievil already in PSN, why should I be paying for it again for the Play? And why the exact same amount, 5 euros? Have you not amortizised the game enough already???
And let's forget about the PSX old games, what about the Minis? Fitting those in the XPlay PSStore would rapidly fill up the XPlay catalogue with more casual-oriented and socially-related games, many of them exclusive to the system... But again, we're busted. We get three stores, one with old, Sony-only PS1 games which people won't pay for if they have done so in the PSN store; one with its own issues as is the Android Market, and that PlayNow abortion which I can't really understand.
As Newtype says, one would do well in buying this device with open eyes, remembering that its only really perfected use isn't provided by Sony itself, which is emulation gaming. We're buying a Pandora with a phone and a hip design.
Could you play in cordy smoothly? I've got xperia play and this game is really laggy at my phone

remember sega? how big were they when they came out.. now look at them
so the same could happen to Idevices
so your basicly saying just give up if something is better than u..
dont try and be as good as something else or even better it?
competition is one of the main reasons fones and consoles are as good as they are today
companies trying to create the better device to there rivals

Sega was killed by piracy not competition ......
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
i didnt say what they was killed by
was just saying how big they were and now there not
same as idevices big now but who know what the future brings
Playstation 1 and 2 were one hell of a lot more pirated than Sega's consoles, or Nintendo's as well. Who pirated Genesis, MegaCD, Sega Saturn, N64 games?
Piracy is a consequence of popularity... It cannot kill companies, no matter how good an excuse it makes. Sega was killed by its own mistakes with the MegaCD/Saturn generation, and they didn't have something like Nintendo's GameBoy cash cow to subsidise that failure. The Dreamcast was a beautiful swan song...

watching these playbook commercials do any of you chuckle...really the only table that does this... Mind you I love qnx but dispise blackberries, I also hear they have lots of problems with , shotty market(whatever rim calls it) and poor quality. I love my A500.
yeah blackberry had to rush that puppy they rested on their laurels to long, smartphone arent just for the suits anymore.
Wish them luck though
I don't own one.... but that commercial shown "multi-tasking" that I like...
ie. playing a video/movie.... then selecting something else and the movie minimized to a widget but the motion still playing in the movie. Ours Android doesn't do that !
I wonder if that is true or is it false advertising ?

Yup, works exactly the way you see it in the commercial. I have a playbook and you can actually choose to pause tasks or keep them running when minimized in a setting. The only thing the playbook is missing are the common/popular/commercial apps. Needless to say, my Iconia gets more play then the playbook.
Hello XDA-Dev's!
I have published my first real game to Google Play (last month actually) and been slowly updating (with more changes to come in the next few weeks) but wanted to try and get some feedback if possible.
It is inspired by the old Moon Patrol arcade game, but given a bit of a spin that I hope makes it more playable on a touch screen. Things that I am presently working on are some "Boss" fights and a few new zones to spice it up.
Controls are very simple, the left side of the screen can be tapped to jump while anywhere else is tapped to fire at that location.. my desire is to keep it simple for comfortable play on a phone while commuting to/fro work.
Any comments, suggestions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
The game is on Google Play: com.bitgen.mars_patrol (sorry I cannot post links as I have never logged into XDA-Developers before. Only ever read it while at work, not posted).
It is free/Ad support
I like the graphical style a lot, will certainly check this out.
