7.1 radio & bootloader? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I did some searching, but came up empty. Does anybody have or know where to find a flashable zip of the new 7.1 radio and bootloader? I've been having a lot of data drops lately and I need a new radio to use. Thanks for any help.

[Q] install Android 4.3 modem, etc

I'm currently at the running CyanogenMod 10.1, and I think I'm just going to wait until they release a 10.2 build. I am however interested in updating the rest of the firmware, without flashing the system
. Is this possible? Can I just download the factor image and edit it? Would deleting the system partition be enough?

When you download the factory image, it is a package with different parts in it. You will find the new bootloader and the new radio. Just extract what you want from the package and install them. If you are familiar with fastboot it is really easy. If you look around a bit you'll probably even find some flashable zips in this forum.
Edit: I looked for you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2361437

poor signal reception

Hi, i'm receiving very poor signal reception on my phone and was wondering if there was a way to try and fix this? I'm currently on cm12 with hellscore. Thanks!
If you have been on custom ROM's for quite some time, it may be helpful to do a TWRP backup of your cm12 and
then Flash to Lollypop Stock 5.01 image.
Reason being, it will update your radio baseband to the latest version which may improve your signal reception.
After you flash stock 5.01 image, you can restore your TWRP backup to cm12 and reflash hellscore.
The baseband will be unaffected by the restoration of your cm12 backup and still be the latest one from Lollypop Stock 5.01.
Best of luck
thanks for the reply! i was wondering, could i just update the radio baseband?

Yes you can. Connect your phone to the computer in fastboot mode. Download the latest radio.img. Use (fastboot flash radio radio.img). OR. If you have downloaded the latest radio in .zip format, just flash it in recovery mode.
Absolutely,
Download direct from Google 5.0.1 (LRX22C)factory image for your Nexus 4. The latest is "occam-lrx22c-factory-86c04af6.tgz"
HERE
On your PC, Extract the files from the factory image and put a copy of "radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.05.img" in the ADB Tools folder.
restart your phone into fastboot or you can use the following ADB command.
adb reboot fastboot
Once you phone is in fastboot mode, run the following command.
fastboot flash radio radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.05.img
Hope it helps to improve your signal .
Best of luck

Confusion and/or problem with vendor - Help greatly appriciated

Hello everyone. So I'm brand new to not only xda but rooting and the likes all together. Yesterday I rooted my nexus 6p without issue and I will now list what I used. Twrp 3.0.0 -1-angler, BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247. My phone build was MMB29P. then I flashed on pure_nexus_angler-6.0.1-20160315-CMTE and PureNexus_Dynamic_GApps_6.x.x_3-15-16.zip. Now my phone is saying its build MHC19J. I don't know if that is normal, but now I'm confused. When I boot up I get an Android System message saying " It appears your vendor image may be out of date. Please flash the latest vendor image for your device. " So followed the link to the vendor images and I see the list of vendor images however I don't see my build MHC19J.. or am I to get MMB29P? also once I do get it downloaded and load up twrp I see the option to click image and there's several boxes there to check/uncheck.. Do i just check vendor? So put as short as possible I need to know which vendor image i should get and how to flash it from twrp. Thanks for reading and your help will be greatly appreciated.
Also I almost forgot.. Will i need to flash a raido file or anything like that??

The vendor version you need is MHC19I which you can download following the link on the first post on the pure nexus ROM. Flash it via TWRP by hitting the flash img button and then selecting the vendor partition (duh). It's also good to make sure you are running the latest bootloader and radio (the bootloader should be on version 3.51 and the radio on 3.61).

Recovery unaviable after Nougat update

Hey people,
I've updated to the unofficial Nougat leak here and ever since I can't get into the recovery. The ROM is OK but no matter what I do I can't get into the recovery. After "adb reboot recovery" I just get stuck in a boot loop and I must get into the upgrade utility and restart phone into the system from there. I've tried to flash few other recovery but nothing works. So far I'm fine with the system and I'd like to also try LineageOS but I have no way to flash the ROM. I have tried "Fastboot flash zip xx.zip" from the bootloader to flash LineageOS but it told me I don't have permissions so it was no good.
So do you folks here have any idea what I did wrong and how to make the recovery work again? I'm kind of learn from the tutorial guy so I'll post the sources I've been using to do the flash.
Unlocking bootloader and flashing new recovery
I've only used the unlock bootloader and flash twrp sections with their provided recovery. I've also tried to flash THIS recovery by Meticulus after the nougat update.
Flashing the ROM + used ROM
Used the old process because upgrade with system utility kept giving me errors.
Model number - VNS-L21
Also if this issue can't be (yet) fixed do you know any way to safely flash ROMs without recovery?
Thanks for any kind of help
You cannot flash any ROM in the nougat recovery, because it does not support /data mounting. Downgrade to MM and install the ROM you want from there.
@SALVO9
Ok, thank you for the reply. I'll probably try to downgrade and flash it afterwards to know which ROM suits me better. All I need to do is find the stock ROM copy it to the phone and restart with all buttons pushed right? Also, do you have any info about when there will be a nougat recovery that can mount /data?

No.
Flash proper OEMinfo first!
@Schlengge
Thanks for the advice. I did my research because I didn't know a thing about oeminfo and I have hit a wall since my phone is not rooted(Should have mentioned that earlier I know) and I'm supposed to replace custom.bin and then flash the img. So afterwards I searched how to root this nougat ROM and found nothing no app was working and everything I found was just using the phone's recovery which I can't access. Does anything come to mind? I will continue getting through the pages of google but I don't think I'll find anything useful.
EDIT> After some searching I found the official rollback package. I have yet to test it (downloading on slow connection atm) and I hope it will work.
Ok it's finally done and I'm back at old stock ROM(EMUI 4.1.1 VNS-L21C432B160) after hours of searching I gave up on the oeminfo or rooting the phone. I searched for the stock firmware and found some rollback packages on the Huawei site. I will post the links in there you even have instructions packed with the zip.
LINK1
LINK2
Download both start with the smaller one because it's flashing first and follow the instructions in the pdf. Worked for me so hope it also helps you.
Also as I found out just now this rollback also locks back your bootloader so be sure to unlock it back again with the code.
