Hi!
I got my Pixel today. A few hours setting up/ restoring backup... Now I've had a little time to play as I go through my day....
Here are a couple Google Pixel camera shots in Vancouver!
What are a couple of your first shots?
nerB
the camera has the best dynamic range I will say
Yes, I LOVE the camera. It does phenomenal pics.
Also want to point out, front flash... Try it, go to take a selfie and turn the flash on..

Never noticed that before.
After a long time with Samsung I have no regrets with this camera.

Yes, it was from my "air gun" after I accidentally broke the digitizer on the Note 5. It was much easier to shoot it then remove the battery.

Dude that is so f'ing cool.
Can someone posts RAW DNG files for download, I want to purchase the phone but before that I want to check RAW quality of the camera.
Thanks
I don't like the glare... My rear facing camera produces loads of glare if light(indoor shots) is above the shot or from the side...

Ok, I went through the first 8 or 9 pages in the Focus section and never found a thread for this. So, I decided to make one. Pretty much every other phone I owned had a thread for this and it was fun to look at pictures people take to test out there camera.
In less than a full year I have went from an HTC PURE to a HTC MAGIC to a NEXUS ONE to a XPERIA X10 to a SAMSUNG GALAXY S CAPTIVATE and now to my lovely brand new SAMSUNG FOCUS....alot of phone switching I know. But im so happy with my Focus...I think WP7 is pretty damn awesome so far and its a great break from Android (which Im a little bored with).
One of the things I have been VERY impressed with in the Focus is the camera quality. So, hopefully we can keep this thread going and take pictures and post them for other people to see.
Ill start, I only have 1 pic to post for now, but Ill get more for sure. This shot was from work, just the first day after I got my phone so I was testing the camera.
Let the picture posting begin!!!

Nice pic man! what camera settings were you using for that?
ps. nice backyard to
I don't really remember exactly. I took a few and I was switching between macro and normal mode. I haven't had to change much in settings to get good pics on this phone. I have messed with macro, white balance most often. I have never used the antishake setting.
I think this camera is pretty good honestly.
My camera takes some great outdoor photos, but it seems to struggle with focus indoors. Anyone else notice that?
Speaking of indoor pictures:
Right before the start of Disney Princesses on Ice, taken with absolutely no skill or changes to any settings. Y'know, just to give an impression about what can be expected normally.
I have had issues with indoor focus a few times. I have also been able to get some really good indoor pictures. Unfortunately, I cannot share those pictures.
I will try to get some for this thread eventually. Here is another outdoor shot from my backyard. For this one, I used Macro mode.

Nice macro shot!
Anyone try playing with the sharpness yet? its medium by default, Ive taken a few pictures with it set to max and they seem nicer.
Here's a shot I took at the auto show a few weeks ago. No tweaks applied. Just pulled it out of my pocket and snapped.

As you can see, I had nothing else to do but take some pictures on the new phone. I rather enjoy it as my wall paper; its a friendly reminder to leave the house a bit earlier to avoid the traffic.
Note,
The when taking the picture, it also saved GPS info such as Altitude, latitude and longitude, nice touch.

Sorry but manuals are filled with mostly garbage. I prefer to figure things out on my own, actually I knew about this the first day I had it. If I can't figure out a device on my own, I feel like I shouldn't be using it. Unless it's something like photoshop, that I read manuals on heh...
thx, never knew that

You must be blind.
The image review on the phone does not look that nice, but look at it on a computer and they look great.
Also, an app called Reduce Photo Size works very nicely for cropping images - not as convenient as digital zoom in every case, but indispensable for an image you want up in a hurry (easy crop, fast ui, and much smaller file size without artifacting issues).
Also auto desk sketch book is very cool for quick edits.
There is a timer hidden in the stock camera menus too... Took me a while to find it!
Swyped w/ XDA App. When in doubt, mumble.
Maybe I should clarify... whenever the Fascinate tries to use the flash, everything is always completely washed out because the flash is so bright. I havent had much luck taking pictures at night or even in a somewhat low light situation. What flash setting are people using? (On, Auto, Off)
Just fyi, the zoom function works while shooting video too, though it's a bit odd watching it as it's so abrupt, unlike a real video camera that smoothly zooms in and out.

My photos come out crisp and clean, even when using flash, there may be a problem with your camera if it's washed out. Can you upload a picture so we can review what you're talking about? A description is never as good as a picture

Thanks! To be fair, he's super handsome and photogenic and makes every picture good. The slow motion (which my last phone did not have) has been my obsession as of late to capture flying video.
To my great embarrassment, I haven't even messed with the 4k recording. I do take a lot of bird video, but my excuse is I run a blog for my parrot and have some pretty steep limitations on video upload.
Took a couple macro shots, quite impressed with what I see (got the phone today)
(motherboard of the Galaxy S4)
The camera still has some issues with low light conditions; however, certainly a major improvement from any other Android device and on par with iPhone low light shots (though I would say Note 5 dominates during regular lighting conditions)
Also, for anyone wondering about the aggressive RAM profile, loaded up Hearthstone, Vainglory, Chrome, iFunny, and Pandora. No Apps killed. Seems to only affect some phones (or models?)

Okay check the 4 photos below...I did them in low light conditions as well.
I took first photo of the dining room from a distance. The phone applied some correction to see better detail (aka brighter than the room really was). I then shot the same area much closer up to try and get the camera to give an idea what the true darkness was of the room. That's the second photo. It gives you an idea how dark the room really looked. I then took a picture of the chic-fil-a packet auto mode (no nightscape) and then switched to the super macro mode and got up close. That's with the light off in that room in the dark. Did a solid job in my opinion. I circled the chic-fil-a thing on the distant shot.
NO FLASH full auto mode on camera (except for activating super macro for the real close up shot).
Nice shots.... I am coming from a pixel 4XL ... The night scape shots are lacking... Has anybody used gcam?

No need to use GCam. The GCam is better only for selfies.
