CmaSystemUpdateService wakelock battery drain - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I began experiencing pretty extreme wakelocks from cmasystemupdateservice while on Marshmallow. I then did a full wipe and flashed the nougat factory image, only to find the same wakelock causing problems. After some digging, I discovered that wiping the storage for Google play services offered a temporary fix. Unfortunately the issue returns a day or two later. Another temporary fix is to use an app like DisableService to enable SystemUpdateService. The problem here is the changes don't stick, and a day or two later the problem is back. I'm at a complete loss of how to fix this issue, and was hoping someone here might have some suggestions. I can't seem to find much on this problem, but I'm down to try anything.

Same issue on my V20. Did you ever get this stopped?

[Q] my D801 semi-randomly freezes and reboots

It seems to occur most often when I'm using Google play music. I think I see the sync icon go as well. But I haven't been able to reliably recreate the problem. I'm on a slimmed down stock ROM. Before, I was on rooted stock with lots of G2 exposed features on. Is there a good way to diagnose the cause? Should I revert to stock entirely and try to get it replaced?
Also, sometimes my data runs excruciatingly slowly, even though it says full LTE signal, and it's a site that is quite reliable and definitely not the problem.
I also have been receiving texts late (sometimes 24 hours later) recently. I have experienced similar things before on different phones, but maybe there's an actual software solution for that.
Thanks for any help

[Q] Any way to fix camera without rebooting?

Hi, like many others I also have problem with camera on my S5(G900F). Reboot helps in my case, but after a couple of hours camera stops working. Is there any way to fix that maybe using shell or something else, just without rebooting? Thanks

Yes, but with no success
Do a clean wipe cache from recovery n see if ur occurring the problem continuously
Seems that Viber cause the problem. They fixed that in latest update. After updating everything is ok with camera..
I was experiencing same issue, camera was just black with no response and when this happened phone was getting hot and one core of CPU was always at full speed, thus battery was draining way too fast.
I noticed that it has stopped doing that lately, I'm also viber user, so it might be related to the update, anyway I'm happy that it finally is fixed :good:

Phone keeps shutting down

I have LG Nexus 4 16GB version. And it is shutting down every now and then by itself, specially while using any Google application. (eg: Google Camera, Chrome, )
It just shuts down. And I have to use power button to start it again. (No shut down animation, it just go dead)
The problem starts when I stopped the Google Now. Yes I am sure. Last night I stooped it from settings. And since then phone is shutting down by itself.
So should I again start it. But I don't want it.
Any help...??????
I just saw that Google Camera is doing this. Even on the Play Store the camera is specially updated for for Nexus 4. And last updating it this problem started. Now I can't use camera. Even when I downloaded other camera app from market the phone is still shutting down.
Any help??????
flash new OS image, for example lollipop 5.1.1
Am on the latest version LMY48I and not having any of those issues. You might have a conflict in cache, or your battery could be failing, or may have an errant app or process causing issues. You would probably be well served to run a Logcat of the issue, and see what it is exactly that is causing the issue. That will help you narrow down the root cause, and determine if it is hardware or software.

Battery going up and down + reboot

Hi,
My wife's gti9505's has an issue with the battery that I cannot seem to fix. One second it's at 75% then all of a sudden it's a 5%, then it goes to 50% and some times it reboots. I don't know if this might be related but she mostly feels this happens when she uses the uber app. She has the latest official android version (5.1..), I've tried installing a new rom with 6.0 but the problem persisted. I've bought her a new battery but the problem persisted. At this point I'm thinking that this MUST be a hardware problem. Any other solutions I may try?
The reboot problem might be a power button issue.

Device is suddenly uncertified? (YB1-X90F, 7.1.1)

Has anyone else noticed that their device certification in the Play Store suddenly shows "Uncertified"? My tablet is totally stock, never tried to root or unlock the bootloader. I just noticed that I couldn't download or update any apps, then suddenly saw this.
Any ideas about what's going on?
Fix
I'm not sure about the "Uncertified" status because I never checked, but I suspect you are having the same issue many other owners have after updating to 7.1.1. I had the problem as well, in which I could not update or download any apps in the Play Store. I would recommend looking at this thread: httpsCOLONSLASHSLASHforums.lenovoDOTcom/t5/Yoga-Book-Android/Lenovo-Yoga-Book-Android-Nougat-Breaks-Google-Play-App-Store/m-p/3834779#M466. (Replace the capitalized words with the corresponding symbols because I'm too new to post external links. The solution it lists about disabling adminstrators and removing VPN's and then restarting did not work for me initially. I ended up doing a factory reset, which solved the problem for a short time. Once it came back the solution from the thread fixed it and I haven't had an issue since.
It's absolutely sickening! Since weeks Google Services stuck on my both devices (X90F and X90L) I tried all the suggestions (factory reset and so on ...) given at this thread:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Yoga-B...aks-Google-Play-App-Store/td-p/3813570/page/3
Nothing works permanently and now, suddenly Play Store says: "Device not certified" . Both devices are not rooted and System-Build is LenovoYB1-X90L_100081_171013 / LenovoYB1-X90F_100083_171013
Turning on battery saver seems to be a viable workaround.

Not really
Btw I registered the uncertified devices now at https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/. But nothing changed in a positive way. On X90F sometimes over night play store runs and apps were updated. With X90F I always I have to stop play services and play store, delete cache and play store data. Then, after restart apps were updated too.
On both devices are running the identical apps and on my old Nexus7 (LineageOS Android 7.1.2) with same apps, activated builtin administrators and AdGuard-VPN all works flawlessly :good:
I think Lenovo urgently needs to deliver an update to get the devices recertified and pass the Android compatibility test.
Encountered the same. Is there still no fix or update from Lenovo for that?
