Received a notification this morning that my unbranded Australian Note 10.1 N8000 (CSC XSA) now has an update available. A couple of days ago the N8010 (wifi) also supposedly got the update to Jelly Bean.
Unfortunately it won't do the update yet as the battery is too low even though I have it plugged in, but I'll update as soon as it has enough charge.
OTA update successful. Device is now saying it's on Android 4.1.2.
Build number: JZO54K.N8000XXCMB1
Changes I've noticed so far:
- New blocking mode in settings - can block calls/texts at certain times of the day and can set exceptions for certain people
- Smart rotation - screen rotation now based on the angle of your face, so you can lie sideways in bed and read.
- Accounts section is totally different in settings menu - now separate accounts are listed in the top level menu
- New disclaimer and privacy policy (for the OTA update service)
- Many apps, including stock browser, email, YouTube, etc can be un-maximised and become floating windows which can be dragged around the screen. They can then be re-sized and pinned (made always on top?), This is true even for some third-party apps like Friendcaster, so it looks like it's a native Android thing rather than Samsung-specific. Unfortunately I can't find a way to make them snap to half the screen like the old split-screen mode. *EDIT - The arrow in the bottom middle of the screen brings up options to switch from the cascade to a split-screen view.*
- Browser now has page preloading (in addition to search result preloading which it already had). Can be off, wifi-only (default) or always.
- Stock email app (not gmail) is still slow and clunky. Project butter seems to have done nothing for it.
I'm sure there's lots of other great changes.
Sweet, finally!!!
I wonder though, why does it say this was released in February on Sammobile.com when we're halfway through March? Why was this not pushed out with the n8010 release?

I was wondering that too. It's possible I did miss it by a while, but that's unlikely - I have been regularly checking using OTA, Kies and on Sammobile.com. I suspect it might be backdated to the date Samsung put on the build??
Mate, I've been checking sammobile every day since the N8010 JB update was released, asked Samsung and was informed that they don't answer rom release questions, just given the usual BS about testing and getting it right for us.
I think it's a bit slack though to release a rom almost a month after it should have come out. And it's a real spit in the eye to then back date it to make it look as if it was released on time....
My S4 was upgraeded to 4.3 a couple of weeks ago. This morning I got a firmware update. Does anyone have info on what was updated?

Hello
(Quick introduction : I am new here, but I've been a proud Yotaphone 2 french user for half a year now, I don't develop on it, but such a clever+smart+phone gives me the itch to)
First, THANKS to the Yota teams. I am very happy to see that Yota still develops and deploys updates, and the last one contains a lot of good things. At least, they addressed some of my own frustrations with their beautiful device :
+ Double-tap to unlock both screens
+ New backscreen widget with "Mobile data" switch
+ New small clock widget with date + battery level
+ New Events widget to display Agenda Events
+ Backscreen e-mail app allows switching accounts
+ Better sorting of the Yotaphone parameters
+ New parameters
+ No more useless "External" stockage category in the parameters
+ Some more new apps which I haven't still tried for lack of interest
So far, everything works better than usual for me with these new settings and apps. They even took the time to improve some french translations.
I feel that autonomy is the same overall, or maybe slightly better. I also feel that double-tap unlock is slower than the swipe, but it's much handier to me.
Some regular backscreen apps (Messenger and E-mails) look sluggish recently, but these slowdowns also tended to occur before, time will tell if something's wrong.
This is the end of my contribution to this forum, hope this can help someone.
Thanks for the info! I wonder which is the better firmware to run with at the moment: 1.87aEU or 1.112RU? Has anyone tried both?
Thanks for the quick review. It sounds good. Me I'm still sticking with Kitkat for the moment, seeing the drainage issues on LP. The new features you mention sound good though. Would it be possible to simply add these new widgets on Kitkat too? I´m especially interested in the Yotagram app/widget. Can someone upload it so I can try it out? thx
I have a Nexus 6P, no mods, unlocks, etc... fully stock.
I have only been on Android for a couple months, longtime BB user... so bear with me.
I went through the beta enroll method to update my 6P to nougat. The first time, the update failed... i did a reboot and it was back to MM no problem.
I unenrolled, enrolled and did the update again.
So far it looks like everything is up and running.
In all the videos of new features, everyone is using the new launcher and showing off a lot of features...
with what I did, i do not have the new launcher... my device looks and feels like MM, with minor differences (notifications, shade, etc.)
Is this normal for an update? or did my OTA update miss something?
How do I get the new launcher?
the nexus launcher, i believe thats an apk somewhere. i havent installed, i love the google launcher - not sure if i want to go that route. but yes, everything is pretty much the same as MM but with extra tweeks like fast reply (txts on your lockscreen), pull down menu is redone, multi window multitasking, smooth animations.
I got the Android O for my Samsung Galaxy tab S3 here in india. Update size is around 1123 MB.
New features are
1. Experience 9
2. Doldy Atmos enhancements
3. New options to play sound of a particular app on a particular device. Ex : if u have connected a Bluetooth speaker, now u have the ability to select only YouTube audio to be played on Bluetooth speaker.
4. Live messages
5. New notification icons and app icons( I guess part of experience 9 home)
6. Multiple clock faces and colours for clock in lock screen.
That's the S9/S9+ wallpaper. Is that on the device after Oreo or did you put it on your tablet? And if it comes with Oreo is it live like on the S series?
Are there themes? I really really want to have black theme all over instead of blinding white
Well this is my experience:
-Changes mentioned by kmdshoyaib in op
-No themes of course (and i wasn't expecting that)
-The overall experience is smoother than nougat but I have to say many lags and delays specially in samsumg keyboard, and third party apps menus are still there (I did a clean install and factory reset)
-I feel a better response time to S-pen (maybe a placebo effect)
-Other things including batter life needs more time!

Live messages is now available on Tab S3 oreo.
Other than that, I feel the tablet way more responsive now. Reacts faster when playing around with different apps.
Samsung Pass now requries secure screen lock to work with autofill of usernames and passwords. Fingerprint is still a must with Samsung Pass, but in addtion a screen lock also is needed.

I got it yest night in India too. agree with all the above comments, but disappointed by 1 thing; no change in the SNote/Samsung Notes fiasco
The Dolby Atmos is awesome. I played a song in the dead of the night and, mighty impressed with the improvement. The output from the speakers also had improved. Good thing the AKG speakers have been used and getting a good workout!
Greetings from India, received Oreo update today, and now tab s3 supports VOLTE. Jio VOLTE calls are working now.
And battery life is better?

Supports it adoptable storage or do I have to hack again?

Well that is just the static wallpaper I downloaded from Android authority.com
It would have been a charm if Samsung included s9 live wallpapers with the update

Greetings from China...
The s pen translate app also got an update and now it works just like galaxy note 8.
It can translate from Chinese and Japanese now. It can also translate sentences and currency.
My tablet is currently in for repair so have not had a chance to look at the update personally only watched some videos on YouTube about it I was wondering if anyone could have a look and find out if there's a way to change the resolution to save power yet as I do a lot of typing and office work on my tablet and I was looking for a way to down the resolution to 720 p to save a ton of power and was wondering if this has been added with the Oreo update.
Maybe it's because I am a brand new Tab S3 user and updated almost immediately. But all the apps in Play Store that I already paid for are showing up as unpaid. Here is my post about it. Help is appreciated!
Battery life has been fine for me since I got the update yesterday.

Updated last night. The process was easy and error free. The changes are really minor, not anything to write home about. In any case, as Android matures, I would not expect substantial changes from one version to a newer one.

Try to login on a pc to your google account to validate the issue.
On your tab, try to wipe cache, following this steps:
1. Turn off your tab.
2. After that press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power button for a couple of seconds.
3. Now you should be in the expected mode.
4. You can navigate here by using Volume buttons and select options "wipe cache" by using the Power key.
If this solve your issue don´t forget leave feedback to help other mates.
