------Hello world of xda.
Im encountering a pretty nasty things in my Huawei P8lite and im sharing this with you maybe i could find some solution
------Details of the phone :
Huawei P8Lite / Model nr. ALE-L21 / Version nr. ALE-L21 C432 B574 / Android v. 6.0 / Baseband 22.300.01.00.00 , 22.300.01.00.00
------Details of the problem : Sleep of death
After phone is locked ( by lock button or screen timeout ) after like 10 seconds , cant be unlocked, if i press power button nothing happens. I have to press the button for like 10 seconds then phone will start. If phone is charging, is connected to computer , has application like FM Radio / Flashlight on it WILL NOT do SoD. First , i was thinking that battery is faulty , but if , i use the phone on battery and dont let him lock/sleep , phone will never shut down by itself , just when its sleeping. Then i was thinking about hardware issue, but this doesnt happen randomly, flexing the phone doesnt turn it off. The shutdown isnt with logo or something , just screen is turned off like its locked , but in fact phone is dead. While the phone dead , if i connect to PC or wall charger , no sound from pc ( new connected device ) pops out , no led on the phone blink , if i try to charge it nothing happens. I just have to manually press the power button for 10 seconds to make him reboot.
-----What i did ( and didnt fix it at all ):
Downgraded to android 5.0
Flashed other versions of firmware , android versions 5 and 6
Cleared cache
Factory reset
Installed TWRP and cleaned cache and factory reset from there
Tried SoD killed application from store ( wich sais its for nexus but may work on others )
-----What im trying to do next :
Logcat with PC , for the moment i am browsing forums to see how that does work.
*** EDIT : attached logcat file https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4HMIsHWA6NDeUNSQUkzbFg1dms
( PS : LOG settings on phone - ticked AP / CP / Charge / Sleep ) but the problem is i cannot recreate the bug since adb uses usb , and while phone charges he doesnt do the sleep of death..

It seems hardware issue. Have you tried flashing whole rom via fastboot and rescue mode?

Yes, flashed via fastboot system , boot , cust and recovery. Flashed aswell via phone recovery with dload/update.app whole firmware, but same.
Edit - Discovered something strange. Notification LED blinks are still showing up when phone is in this sleep state, but notifications gotta be received when phone is with screen on.

Exactly same problem here with the same phone. In my case is from a customer, I'm a technician . They told me the phone dropped in water for like a second, but I can't find even a minimal water trace inside. Did you solve the problem in some way? I think it's something related to doze mode, or low power on CPU cores . This only happens when you lock the screen and the phone e is flat on a table, if I lock it and unlock in vertical position this doesn't happens. I tried 2 apps to create wakelocks with no result.
Hi Axel85,
Where you able to solve the problem? I have the same phone which was in water for few seconds and is presenting the same problem.
Just install sod killer from play store and it will be fixed

Water damage is a no for sure. I submerged it fully in water and still works perfectly after dissasembling it completely and leaving it in silica gel for 24h. Doze also does no problem, my thoughts are that he harmed some firmware-related files that are not written by just reflashing stock rom or some malware did it. If not, than there may be some problem to the SoC or a capacitor, or maybe RAM, ROM, or GPU. But for sure you do have some kind of serious problem.
Has anyone figured a fix for it yet?
my phone has the same problem, and yes it fill in water for a couple of seconds after that the problem emerged.
But I noticed also that the SD Card slot is not working or no more SD cards can be read by my phone don't know if it is problem.
It's either the SD card slot has something to do with it or the battery need to be replaced in my opinion

hi guys.......
my phone issue is still not solved.
i have a U8800, came with 2.2.1 b136 rom. all things used to work fine and one fine day while i was out and the battery drained off, Returning back home i plugged my phone to the power and kept for charging as usual. in the morning when i power up the phone it started but got hanged up on the android text animation screen and then a loop of same. from that day onwards my phone is not working.
it starts up showing big huawei screen and proceeds to the android text animation there it get stuck for a few seconds and then again back to android text animation continuously the same.
I can get into the pink screen bu pressing Vol up + Vol Down + power.
I can also get to the blue screen Vol Up + Power.
i cannot change any thing in any of the drives or partitions in the pink screen. the image folder (in the pink screen), and other partitions also all the 4 partitions are freezed. even if i delete or replace files, the previous files comes back the very next movement. as if the memory is freezed. i even tried to format the 253 MB partition (image folder partition) but format gives error cannot format this drive , checked the attributes is unchangeable read only partition.
i tried updating official rom 2.2.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.5, but update failed, Some times even it reaches the update process to STEP 2/2 and there its like hanged the progress doesn't moves further even tried keeping hours, also tried update without battery but the same.
OK logically i assume i cannot update if the partition is read only. but why is it.
it used to be a working phone worked well and once sudden day its like.......
Is my phone bricked and what i can do to get it on. please help.
i cannot go asking for warranty as it is already out.
i am been asking for help like more then 45 days.
Warranty?
Sent from my u8800 using xda premium
I found the solution is working:
sorry for my English (I use the translator)
I noticed that when inserting the USB cable the phone came on,
well, same with dload in sd, volume + volume - and insert USB cable
without pressing the power button starts the update.

I do the same as to update without using battery but still it doesnot update !
Any ways i will try again without holding power ...........
my problem is my phone doesnt get updated with any rom even the stock 2.2.1. and just keep it into boot loop at android animated logo screen.
Well Maksimitoisto, i cannot claim on my warranty as it is already out and sencondly befor i can put efforts and take pain of paying for another phone or replacement, i want to try max what we can do on it to solve the issue.
since the phone can boot into the Pink and blue screen and also the normal way (with boot loop) i belive its not more then a software problem, the only thing is i need to get the right to overwrite it.
Any help please write.
Appreciate everyonce solutions & support.

Any recent application installs which might have caused this?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
if i remember correctly the last thing i installed is quadrant benchmark
is it possible that something on the root/data/app got missing or uninstalled?
this is the first time i encountered this problem. , havent seen it before in devices that ive handled
It sounds a little like the cache is corrupted (can happen if it doesnt shut down cleanly).
I had similar behaviour on my galaxy note.
The first time I did a factory reset and that fixed it (remember this wipes all data).
The second time I tried formatting the cache partition first and that fixed it.
When I did those I was using CWM recovery. I cant recall the stock recovery options.
If all is the same between phone versions, to enter recovery you hold down home-power-volume_up til it boots.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
from other posts from orher devices i have read they say its cache but the problem is when i turn it on it doesnt even boot the iniitial logo (samsung galaxy s4 gt-i9505)
it doesnt show up anything. . . screen doesnt lit up so also a problem how do i go now to recovery if the screen doesnt even turn on (the phone vibrates as a respond but the LED and the Screen doesnt lit up)
i know how to enter recovery mode. . . thats the only problem (softbricked)? this phone was bought on the official day of release
I'm having the same problem... Did you find a solution?
Anyone Solve this?
Getting quite anxious about not being power it on
Alex
Was anyone able to solve this? I'm experiencing the same problem. I can switch it on after removing the battery for a long time, but I can't seem to be able to get to recovery, or reboot proprely. Please help... thanks!

having the same problem too
1. you still CAN go to the download mode even if screen is off (I flashed full stock but this did not resolve a problem)
2. I was able to turn on my phone after many attempts: (press power, after vibration release) - I did it about 30-50(maybe more) times and my phone boots up. But after rebooting it again doesnt turn on (again many attempts helps me).
3. I have observed - in my phone vibration turns on after 6s after power button is pressed, in a correctly working one - after 4s.
(sorry for my english)
Was anyone able to resolve this?
same problem here too !! but seem to have found a solution
My galaxy s4 was acting all weird one day, randomly it switched off and wont turn on but keeps on vibrating it was only 3months old I thought it had some serious hardware issues because I tried all the means to resetthe phone but nothing gave me a solution even tried another battery no effect it wont turn on even if it did turn on it would randomly shut itself up within notmorethan 15min I stay in india where i9505 is not sold so Samsung officials would not take my phone for service as they feel its different from i9500 in all means I got fed up and brought myself a new phone a 5s .
A few days before I badly wanted my galaxy so sat whole day searching the internet for fixes couldnt find one . I got angry and smashed the phone hard on the table .to my surprise it gurned on (was connected to the charger ) turns out some phones have a problem with there power button and mine was one of them
I didnt get my button fixed yet but after turning on not using the power button helps . Have been working for 4 days in a row now no problem what so ever . But if I lock my phone using the power button then it tends to get the same problem again ! So guys get your power button checked
Try to fix the button with WD40, worked for me.

Hello
I'm trying to get a Defy and this problem is new to me. I installed the Retail Room, when the battery died in the process. Actually the battery is bad contact (discovered it today) and that every time I turn the phone gives the message:
Bootloader
09.10
Code Corrupt
Battery Ok
Ok to program
Connect USB
Data Cable
I tried to flash the rom retail again, and RDS Lite is only the message "SW Update In Progress .." ..
Stay long until the battery dies again, which I carry in another defy up to 100% and try again.
What can this be guys? What I have to do to burn the right rom? I've tried some Chinese rooms but without success.
Thanks to al ! !!

So guys ,
Scouring the internet and seeing various sites saying it is a difficult problem to solve , found in a Spanish forum a tip that changed a bit my problem .
The hint says to open the unit with a paper clip and touch the top and bottom of the stack which is positioned in the lower left corner of the plate .
I used a bent pin , and with it the phone does not give the error " code corrupt " by pressing power button + volume ( + ) button.
However the device does not leave the motorola logo and does not allow wipes data and cache by pressing power button + volume button ( - )
And if I try to flash a new rom , such as retail , or Chinese , or Chinese roted it back to give the error "Code Corrupt " .
Tried to put a Chinese rom (following the procedure of clips on the stack ) to try to see a miraculous light blue and with it access the custom menu cell . But without success.
So guys , my defy will really turn a great paperweight ?:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
thank you
Alex
:crying:
I had the message that I am running out of memory soon since some weeks but did not bother. From time to time I deleted some stuff but kept on using the Note 3. Since 2 days (after the torch turned on for no reason and I powerde it down) the damn phone does not go into the PIN and passowrd screens anymore. A while after the Samsung logo appears (feels like 3 minutes) all I can see is the uper status bar showing the time, battery status, signal levels, etc. strangely the phone seems to be connected to my home network via wifi, I can turn on and off bluetooth, wifi ,etc. but that is it. When I press the "return" button below quickly two times I can see the "desktop" screen very shortly and the phone ends up in voice control mode showing a few messages and I am not able to use voice control, the message is "not connected to network". When I go out of this screen the "desktop" appears shortly but the screen ends up being black again.....
Before I return to factory settings (no backup done ) I would appraciate suggestions what I can do get the phone working again without loosing all data (memory card was removed, some pics and videos deleted to free up space, tried a brand new memory card, removed the battery, etc, etc)
Thanks for your help!

Any idea if there is a chance that my contacts are still there after the factory reset?
Hi! It's my first time making a thread here so guidance is greatly appreciated. Here's how everything started:
I was just casually using my phone (at the time I was using the built-in browser of google assistant, just looking at some news) then suddenly my phone crashed (I've experienced this before every time I was using the google assistant built-in browser, a simple browser can crash this phone?). It just restarted like it normally would, then, after using the phone for a few minutes, it froze again! I waited for it to reboot but now it just powered off and won't turn on (it won't show any sign of life, no logo, not even an icon when I tried to charge). D:
I figured to have it checked by a local technician and when he tried to plug a charger in, a display showed it charged (found it weird but happy at that time). I figured it was the charger so I bought a new one.
So I got home to charge it fully and when I turned it on, it worked normally. However, when I tried to turn my wifi on, notifications popped up and suddenly it froze again! After that, it turned off and when I tried to turn it back on, I got this dreaded red texts on a black screen:
Bootloader exception ( RST_STAT = 0x10000)
Exception: do_handler_sync: DABT_EL1(esr: 0x9600010)
RDX, do not reboot*** ext4_wait_block_bitmap:494: Cannot read block bitpc : 0x8f0261d0 lr : 0x8f02618c sp : 0x8f117fd0
This showed and the phone won't even let me turn it off, so I just waited for the battery to die out. When it did, I tried to charge it again and planned to do a factory reset thinking maybe an app was causing this. I managed to go to the no command icon and manual mode but no factory reset menu showed up (where you navigate using the volume up and down). So I tried to restart but now it died out completely- no button combination would work, it won't charge, no display can be seen. Is it hard bricked?
I tried to wait a whole day thinking I would be able to charge it again, but it has already been three days and I am not able to perform anything.
There it is, I tried to be as detailed as possible. Additional info: I never tried rooting it or flash roms with it, I haven't done anything with the software (or hardware since I am careful) but install apps (officially from the playstore). From how I see it, it's a firmware problem and I was hoping someone here can help me bring my phone back to life. Is this my fault? If I have this repaired, am I the one who should pay for this?
I mainly want to know what the error message means and if there is a way for me to access the phone. (I figured if I have the technician fix this, all they need is a computer with a software that could fix this since it's a problem with the firmware. If that's everything they would do then I could do that too, with your help of course.)
Thanks to all in advance!
Hi. This sounds pretty strange. Technically...it is hard bricked but you can bring it to life. I can tell you what I would do, when I run into such a problem.
ATTENTION: YOU WILL LOOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA EXPECT EXTERNAL SD CARD
First download the newest firmware for your S7 Edge (G-935FD) on SamMobile and unpacking the .zip.
Download Odin in the newest version, open it and put the downloaded files in the right order in Odin (BL, AP, CP and CSC - the files from the firmware from SamMobile has labeling with BL, AP etc.)
Now the tricky part because your phone won't charge and doesn't go on. You have to go in the download mode with your phone (press and hold volume down - home button - power button) than an window appears and press volume up
Connect your phone with your PC (in Odin you can see, that your device is connected) and press start. It will take some time transferring the ROM and your phone will reboot automatically and after some minutes of blinking Samsung logo...the phone should start normally into the SIM card pattern screen.
Now you have a fresh stock ROM installed and everything should work fine again.
But your phone won't get on or will charge...maybe when you connect it to your PC it will charge. Otherwise I see no option to solve your problem. Your phone must charge again that you can go into the download mode and bring your S7 Edge back to life with a clean stock firmware and an working system.
