Last month i faced the same issue and this mostly happens when flashing/changing rom or kernel or could also happen when you dont charge your phone above 90℅. The battery stats file needs to be refreshed. Charge your phone to 100℅ and dont unplug it. When it reach 100℅, unplug and plug the power cord in and out a few times (wait a few minutes before unplug again) to make sure it reach 100℅. If everything goes well it will show the correct battery levels again.

Battery Calibration Problem
No need to worry man...this happened with me too..its just a battery calibration problem
If non-rooted
1.Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
2. Turn it on again and let it turn itself off.
3. Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent.
4. Unplug your charger.
5. Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in (leave your phone on) and continue charging until it says 100 percent on-screen as well.
6. Unplug your phone and restart it. If it doesn't say 100 percent plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen.
7. Repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without being plugged in.
8. Now, let your battery discharge all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again.
9. Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption and you should have reset the Android system's battery percentage.
If rooted then just follow these steps:
1. Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
2. Turn it on and let it turn off again.
3. Fully Charge the Switched off phone.
4. Unplug your charger.
5. Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery indicator won't say 100 percent, so plug the charger back in and continue charging until it says 100 percent on the screen as well.
6. Unplug your phone and restart it. If it doesn't say 100 percent, plug the charger back in until it says 100 percent on screen.
7. You want to repeat this cycle until it says 100 percent (or as close as you think it's going to get) when you start it up without being plugged in.
8. Now, install the Battery Calibration app by IMobS Ltd(Available On PlayStore) and, before you launch it, make sure your battery is at 100 percent again, then restart.
9. Immediately launch the app and Re calibrate your battery.
10. Once you've calibrated your battery, discharge it all the way down to 0 percent and let your phone turn off again.
11. Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption while it's switched off, and the Android system's battery percentage will be reset.

IF above methods doesn't work. Take backup of important files and Reinstall rom

there is a xposwd mod called disablecriticalbatteryshutdown.maybe it will help..
Peace to all

my phone switched itself off once from 60% when I was testing the coffee kernel. I'm not saying the kernel caused it but I reflashed to optimus and never had similar issue.

Battery Pro-Tip

Just a little something lots of people have probably noticed with the vibrant battery that I ran into as well.
When you are done charging the phone and unplug it, sometimes it immediately drops down to 97-98%
Yesterday, each time the phone said it was fully charged, I just unplugged and then replugged the battery. And It would charge for another 10-15 minutes.
I was able to do this 4 or 5 times, each time it took a little less time. But once I got it to a 'true' 100%, i reconditioned the battery, and I feel like I am doing a lot better on power than I was before.
Maybe the whole thing is in my head, maybe theres 20 threads about this already, but here it is again. Hope it helps someone.
Nope, that's real. You're doing a type of bump charge, and it does help your battery at the top end. Normally I stop when my batt hits 4250mah.
Thanks for the advice.
Have any of you guys ever experienced something like this?
Last night I got my phone down to 2-3% before recharging. However, it was feeling a little sluggish so I decided to reboot (with the charger still plugged in). After I rebooted it, it reported the battery at 27% charging. Note: This was literally 5 minutes after I started charging my phone...
I think I'm going to reboot my phone first before I plug it in..

Try recalibrating your battery.
If you have clockworkmod installed follow these steps
1. Charge phone completely, leave plugged into power
2. Boot into recovery
3. Wipe battery stats
4. Reboot
5. Remove power cable
6. Drain that sucker all the way
7. Recharge fully
8. Rejoice!"

[Q] Weird Battery Issue

I have drained, reset, charged, drained, calibrated, reset to original rom, etc etc etc... No matter which ROM i use (currently on Trips MIUI103) my x10 will not go higher than 90%, then, even though it remains plugged in (and shows charging in Juiceplotter) it slowly drains until empty. Makes it difficult to plug in at night before I go to sleep, and to wake up to find it empty.
(At night I turn off Cell radio, 3g, wifi, bt, gps, etc etc etc) Does the same if the phone is off completely.
Any one have any ideas - it is not the battery, as i use my wifes battery and the same thing happens in my phone, but not in hers.
Well you may have a defective chipset or battery pack.
I suggest return it to SE.
Are you 100% that your apps or firmware isn't causing it?
Sounds like your phone is getting a run off current..
Does the Green "fully charged" LED ever show up.
Yup. Green LED is on at 91% right now (the highest I have ever seen it). and if I wait, it will be green at 90%, 89% etc
Use the phone for one week without reseting or wiping the battery cache..
run it down all the way even when it reaches 1% leave it..
the moment it shuts down.
begin recharging..
"don't use the phone"
till the green led comes on.. leave it a extra 30 mins.
repeat this twice!
then use it normally for the rest of the week..
this time charging at 15% when the phone notifies you and leaving it at least 30 mins after the the green led comes on...
if this does not work... ship back to SE.
Now battery doesn't charge at all (either the regular BST41 or the CSino 2600mah)
Luckily, under warranty, Rogers is sending one to replace. should be here today..
try removing the battery, then plugging it in (without the battery) for about 10-15 minutes.
unplug, put the battery in, plug it back in to charge.
As far as I know, when you calibrate the battery (charge full, the wipe stats, back to 88% then recharge, 2-3 times), I never got 100% after it (always back to 88%, so I have to charge it up to 100%).
Try to wipe again battery stats from xrecovery
Check also the Wolfbreak's CM v054 (dev section), on the first post there's a trick for battery troubles, you might try it
Edit : check also your charging supply and use as possible the stock SE charger. Why ? Because x10 often charges bad/not/slowly with other charger, most of them use a lower mAh charging and the x10 loves high mAh

Streak 5 dead, what now?

Hello! i have problem with my streak 5, few days ago battery drained out and phone shut down.
i connected ti a charger but nothing happen, no reaction on phone so i left it on charge all night.
Still no response, no picture on the screen, no backlight, no LED, completely dead.
I can get reaction only when i enter in fastboot mode (holding power+camera)
IN this mode touch screen not working, computer recognize device and i can do flash and i do it successfuly but i still cant turn on my phone.
What can be a problem, I tried everything with no luck, also i have not found anyone with same problem
I have 2.2 official, no root.
Try changing the battery. The one you have could be defective, or else there is an issue with the charging circuit.
I measured with instrument 3,67V, connected od 1 and 4. And few other combination i get from 3,30 to max 3,67V.
This seem to be ok, regardless of that you think might be the battery?
Never let the battery drain that much becase now the battery doens't have enough power to start the charging... you should charge the battery manual with some wires on (+) and (-) from a old phone charger be carefull with the voltage(V) and the ampers(A) not to brake the battery, 20 or 30 min should be enough, or you should buy one of this Universal charger. Then place the battery in the phone and it should work ok .
This morning I optimistically tried to turn on a phone and it was successful
battery Indicator showing 7% so i connected to charger, now is normaly charging, everything is working normally...
I do not understand, what could happen? i few times drained battery to 0% but still able to charge, maybe battery is problem, but again, turned on after 3 days
Don't worry the battery is ok the problem is not to empty it again to 0%, at 5% 7% close the phone if you don't have a charger to charge it. This method applies to every phone and battery. It's not a good thing to fully discharge.
Now is fully charged and power is 4,07V.
So obviously battery caused this problem.
I think, good info for all who suspect on battery, 4,07 V is power you need to have on fully charged battery.
With 3,6V you cant event turn on the phone.
Thank you for suggestions

[Q] When turning off, a fully charged battery has 0%

Finally receieved my Nexus 4 after almost 2 months waiting, but not really enjoying it right now.
Received it yesterday, unpacked it and I couldn't turn on the phone. So I've connected the cable into the charger and a light showed up.. After 30 min I saw a battery icon and after 1 hour I could turn up the phone.
When turned on, it showed 3% battery, so I let it charge for about 5 hours. While charging I've noticed something strange.. it was charging very slow. After 4h of charging it was showing just 16% battery and 1h later it was suddenly at 70%. After it got till 99% I unplugged the charger and tried to use the phone.
Everything worked till I wanted to restart it. The phone doesn't want to start up! Pressing the powerbutton for 20-30 seconds.. nothing happens. Tried the volume button combination.. nothing. Plugged it into my PC and after 10 min the battery icon showed up?! The battery was at 0%! The battery went from 99% to 0% just by turning it off!
I've let the phone charge again, this time the whole night (7 hours).. It was fully charged at 100%. I disconnected the charger and turned off the phone.. and again: a black screen.
I've Googled and searched everywhere but couldn't find 1 thing.. what could be the problem of this? How can my phone go from 100% to 0% by turning it off?
I have no idea what is going on but you need to contact google asap, they'll send a replacement and hopefully the new one isn't a dud.
If you want to try playing with it, plug the phone into a different charger with a different cable, let it charge overnight/12hrs and give it another shot it could be a bad cable/charger (to be honest I think this is a long shot.)
Really sounds like a hardware problem.
Your only option is RMA.

[Q] Battery at 0% - Won't Charge!

Sorry if this has been covered but after an hour searching lots of threads about battery/charging issues, I can't find anything...........
Plugged my phone (S6Edge+) in as normal last night, this morning after about 1hrs use the battery was at 10%?? Didn't notice when I unplugged it if it was at 100% when I unplugged it but I guess not?
So I've plugged it back in and gone back about an hour later and it's shut down? Battery is showing 0% and it goes through power up sequence ok but then shuts down due to lack of battery.
When plugged in, I have the red LED top left, I get the empty battery graphic with a lightning bolt in the middle, then the graphic changes to 0% and I get the 3 green circles in sequence at the bottom of the screen.............all as normal, except the battery is staying at 0%?? Is there anything I can do?
I've tried different charger/cable, tried volume down + power, about to try a hammer.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.
I had something similar happen to me recently . Heres what I did. Connect the charger to the phone, while connected reboot to recovery(TWRP), leave the phone alone about 20mins, after the 20 mins are up reboot back to recovery while still connected, now you should see atleast 1 percent battery while in recovery, reboot your phone as normal from recovery and now it will charge. This is what has worked for me.
