Been trying to figure out how to use data for the maps, while connected to the transmitter Wi-Fi signal. Nothing seems to work. Anyone use this phone, or an LG to do this successfully?

Hey Guys, this issue has been bugging me for quiet some time:
I have been using the Soft Access Point function of windows 7 via my wlan card for a long time and it didn't really give me any problems until recently.
It goes like this:
I activate the network, my phone connects. So far so good. But it keeps dropping out and reconnecting to mobile network all the time. That happened with other devices like my Netbook as well, but never this frequent and only when I wasn't actively using the connection. When I got the nexus 4 it started happening more often. And in the recent days/weeks very frequent. Sometimes only minutes after connecting. Also when the connection is in use, even during VoIP calls.
But I'm not sure whether it's a problem with the phone or the network setup... Any ideas?
Oh yeah, I'm running unrooted stock and the PC is Win 7 ultimate x64

I forgot to mention: To fix it, I have to disable and then enable the network again. It always shows as still active on the PC but doesn't show on the phone before I do so.

Anyone have a way to enable the built in tethering on d800 att version. I changed tether entitlement check value to 0 rebooted and tried to enable tethering and it failed. I kept trying and eventually lost use of my hone button. Wiped and tried again with same results. Thanks for any help

This doesn't seem promising

I'm a little surprised that this hasn't been figured out yet, and not really talked about for the AT&T version. It looks as if it's been solved for the Verizon version though. FoxFi tether to my laptop is the only thing working for me at the moment. I did use the bluetooth tether via FoxFi with my Nexus 7, but it seemed a little unstable, and couldn't seem to access everything. For example it would access the Play store, but not allow a download.
I can connect to my Wi-Fi at home without issue, but I can't login to the Wi-Fi at work.
When I connect to the Wi-Fi at work, it automatically opens the login page. I'm supposed to click login (no password) and on the next page, click continue. I should have Wi-Fi access after clicking continue, but on my Galaxy Note 3, the browser just keeps loading until it gives a timeout error. I have tried this on both the stock browser and Google Chrome. I have tried reconnecting Wi-Fi, restarting my phone....
It works fine on my Skyrocket....

I sometimes get this on the T-Mobile hotspots on the train. But only when I still have a previously used login page open in another tab/browser.
Do you have that, by any chance?

I end tasked all the browsers and cleared the ram. Is the login page something.wanderingwifi.com? I wonder if it's just the Wi-Fi hardware.

Tried logging in with Firefox. Same problem. Is this that rare or are people just not logging in to hotspots?

Same problem with my wife's Galaxy S4. I guess we're the only ones.

Hey, sometimes when I'm outside of the house, and try to use something like YouTube in a place with low reception, it just halts, loading very slowly and won't let me view any videos. However, after this, my Google account will fail to sync. Even after going to a place with better reception, it will fail to sync. And this happens to all the accounts on my s4 that I have set to sync. The only way to get sync to run again is to connect to a wifi network. I've tried clearing app data, enabling and disabling network data, and restarting my device, but nothing works until I'd have connected to a wifi network. Any suggestions or ideas?

Just got my Nexus 10, so far I'm liking it. One problem I'm having is connecting to my wifi through my extender I can't get on the internet. It makes the connection to the extender, if I connect to my router it works fine. Only the extender is giving me trouble and I have to connect to the extender to be on the same network as my Chromecast in the bedroom. I'm on latest stock rom KitKat and not rooted (yet).
Got it working, restart extender. Simple fix.
