Hello all,
It was not too long ago, about a month, when we announced Xiaomi would finally open source the kernel of their flagship phone. This is required by the GPL and caused a lot of trouble with other communities accepting Xiaomi products. Many didn’t believe this day would come, or that we were lying. I’m happy to announce that we have the kernel for the MI2 / MI2A public now!

This is great news for developers looking to take their purchased phone to a different operating system, and helps Xiaomi in the greater scheme of the Android Ecosystem.
We are all happy here at MIUIAndroid and thankful this day has come. Enjoy building everyone!
M1Cha has confirmed that this is a 4.1 kernel. Hopefully we will see a 4.2/4.3 kernel once those public MIUI ROM versions are released.

Now, at this moment I can offer only this AOKP 4.3 for Mi2/2s

Still the best phone on the market. I'd take the Mi2(S) over the Mi3, SGS4, HTC One, Z1, G2, etc. anyday.

Yes has great specs but is too big for my liking. The mi2s is perfect Still one of the fastest phones and is a nice size!

I understand that some of guys aren't members and just download and leave but it's just not possible that are all just visitors.
That's something what's killing out wish for moving on and sacrifice our families, kids and friends for someone who can't even say simple tnx...

Yes some people find it with google and get pointed to XDA and its indeed impossible that they all aren't none XDA members so lazyness is the big thing by members and i totally agree with you, thats killing us all with our shares, mods and roms and we sacrifice alot for that even for me my GF...
Yes thanks pressimg is not so hard for members to show us appriciation, Somy must hire us in that case and nope i dont even come here to make money but share with the people where XDA is really meant for but yes its free to say or press, but sometimes it's frustrating, we all give them something but we get nothing back.

Where to find in Sta, Rosa, Laguna: Almost all shops in SM City Cyberzone although they widely differ in price.
Anyway, I have a black one 14W16 with AUO screen and no flashbleed. Hope I can get your panel id. Just a little bothered it's and AUO but I do like the blacks on this thing.

I have a 14W19 with AUO as well. No problems as well.

good for you guys, i got AUO too from the first batches and got minor flash bleed on very dark scenes using flash, mine is 14w09.. but i don't need to use flash so often so no problem at all

how do i check the AUO
and do you know what's the latest FW available for us ?

No, it's a side project so it doesn't get much time. Release won't be for several weeks. The issues are not only on the side of device porting but also on the side of Mozilla. It is still under active development, unlike Android which is only released when it is complete.

Yeah, but of we get Ubuntu, it'd better right? But alas, no dev to port it for xsp. Same is for Firefox. As @Levered said it'll take a lot of time to get updates from the op if it gets ported

I'm curious, what are you guys 'eager' to see this?
The reason for no release is due to camera. From what I can tell the camera blobs depend on some Android specific parts which will never be part of FxOS (of course).
Unless this is solved then I will probably not release this for Xperia SP as nobody will use it without a functioning camera.
I'm considering getting Xperia E1 to continue this project as this hardware is better supported in FxOS and it also looks like the camera blobs do not have this limitation.

You caused it lol by posting this and showing a video everyone got all excited also you could just release non working build like many devs do with their custom ROMs: on some phones the phone might never have working wi-fi on custom ROMs (desire c fixed after about a year of tinkering) or if you check out the HTC one x custom ROMs they have a lot of stuff broken too!

No way, missing camera (and bluetooth) are missing features too big to warrant a release.
Besides, would anyone really permanently switch from Android to FxOS on Xperia SP if I fixed these two issues and released it? I'd bet money on it that people would use it for a couple of hours maximum, then realize they need the Google services that push all notifications to the phone.
(FxOS doesn't have push notifications for most things, pretty much everything has to be reloaded / refreshed manually, even syncing contact data.)

I have already tested Firefox OS on my older Xperia E Dual device.. it kinda sucked.. I didn't like the way it felt and it was laggy and super slow.. maybe it is better here in XSP

So basically i've been researching/looking at many smartwatches the past couple days and I keep contemplating whether or not its worth the money SO if you guys could help me find the right one it would would be appreciated.
I don't have high standards just looking for a round one with heart monitor, good battery life, and BT for messages/calls. Right now the tabs I have opened are the GW01, the NO.1 G3, and the SMA - R smartwatch but feel free to add suggestions. Now from what I understand these arent very customizable and arent "android?" But if there are any android ones out from around 40-60$ then why not if theyre supposed to be better right? Thanks in advance.

For this amount of money, you'll only find 2nd hand watches with Android wear or chinese ones that are not that customisable.
Juste above you may find sole models running full Android with playstore... That could be worth a try...

Hi. I bought the No1 G5. Pleasantly surprised. Did exactly as described. Exellent screen and the battery life is great so far. The best part is the price.

For me a clock is enough and I think the vxp files could not support these features.

You'll never find one. Especially not with that price, if you're fine with round smartwatches then you might have some better luck. I got a zgpax s8 and an inWatch Z, now neither will charge.
Lesson, go with mainstream and forget about having a phone on your wrist.
