This is my second Android phone. Been looking for a high-end small device, so coming from Galaxy S2, this phone seems to be the best upgrade I could have.
Where to find in Sta, Rosa, Laguna: Almost all shops in SM City Cyberzone although they widely differ in price.
Anyway, I have a black one 14W16 with AUO screen and no flashbleed. Hope I can get your panel id. Just a little bothered it's and AUO but I do like the blacks on this thing.

I have a 14W19 with AUO as well. No problems as well.
good for you guys, i got AUO too from the first batches and got minor flash bleed on very dark scenes using flash, mine is 14w09.. but i don't need to use flash so often so no problem at all
how do i check the AUO
and do you know what's the latest FW available for us ?

hmmm just tried checking on PC companion and SUS both no new FW... it should be checking the same thing as Sony Bridge for MAC right?

The Xperia ray and the Neo V has the same specs as the PLAY so theres no reason why the PLAY should not be getting ICS.
It will definitely get ICS and it's just a matter of time !

Other same spec device's got the update because it works ok. From the look of how the games run on the beta i would say ICS would brake the gaming side of a gaming device which would be silly for Sony to release it.
I still reckon people should just flash to AOKP rom. Looks better than the standard Sony Ericsson UI anyway.
Something about the standard UI just looks to me, I dunno, plain.
I couldnt care less about games working on it. I just use mine for emulators anyway

I can't help but think that maybe the XPlay-to-ICS thing would be like the x10-to-Gingerbread event. I never had the chance to play around with an Xperia x10 before, but last night I had to help my friend with his new x10. It was super snappy with its stock Froyo ROM, then lags were very evident and noticeable when I flashed the latest GB for the x10. I fear this will happen to Xperia PLAY.
I'm well informed about Sony warning 2011 Xperia phone owners around a month or two ago that the ICS coming to the portfolio might not be that fast and reiterated that their GB is very stable. Everyone wants a good upgrade, but again WHAT IF the fate of the x10 happens to our Xplays, too? God I don't want a laggy phone!
right now which is best custom ICS rom in the dev section ?
best in the field of stability and working touchpad.

X10 never got an official froyo. It went from 1.6 to 2.1 to 2.3.
Not only that, but 2.3 on X10 was identical in performance to 2.1 (general consensus). Something must have been wrong with your buddies phone. When CM7 came to X10, it was (and still is) the fastest, smoothest and best ROM on the x10.

Xperia play Definitely my last sony and android phone. Bought this last december just for the ICS.

S advance doesn't even come close to the SP.
3 times faster than my old 2011 Xperia. Very good result, even with the crappy 2gb microSD card with no class rating :laugh:
A friend's S3 only gets 13060 LOL
Bootloader unlocked, rooted, CWM recovery...no system apps deleted except for chinese keyboard.

Totally agree. SP is a great value for its price.
Samsung tries with S4 mini to compete in this segment and what do they do? They have a phone with lesser CPU/GPU and lower screen resolution, but try to sell it with a higher price (here S4 mini is 100 EUR more expensive than SP)...

Best is from the US. You can get it from amazon at $699 for the unlocked silver and gunmetal gray. I got my dev ed via ebay.

I can! It doesnt stay shut flat on the screen. Its like a couple of mm lift above the screen

latest price as per Kimstore's FB page P29800 for Grey and Silver po. Dunno about battery life yet since naghahunting pa din ako ng ok na pagbibilhan pero for sure it varies din from user to user.
I got mine when it was 29990. It seems that Dbgadgets and Kimstore are quite competitive with each other's pricing. As for the battery life, heavy user ako ng NBA Game Time, uTorrent and the Video app. Gives me about 7-8 hrs per charge.

Can't wait to get my hands on the z5 compact even if it's just to try it out.
But since I have a z3 compact am still undecided.Should i upgrade to the z5 compact when it comes out or wait for the next iteration?

The Z5m is a completely different beast then the Z3m
Z3 compact vs Z5 compact
Same Screen Size
Same resolution
Same RAM
Same battery
Differences are-
Faster CPU
Better Camera
Fingerprint Sensor
Heck..the.Z5 compact is even uglier
I am keeping the Z3 compact with me
So how is the camera? I mean pixels are nice but does it shoot nice? Anyone has a good place where to see this?

ooohhh how is the heating? That was like a big problem when i owned the z2 with recording it shut down pretty fast..
No dock or wireless charing

One thing that you've missed: the Capless Micro-USB and relocated to the bottom really huge pro, makes waterproofing A LOT more reliable!, (and removes the ugly magnetic charging port)
add also a lot of other specs derived from the chipset.
I've seen some pics taken on a Z5, and they look stunningly amazing.
Another huge pro for me is the new button placement, though it might be ugly, sony really knows what they're doing, why? because the old buttons made almost impossible use a selfie stick or car holder,
I always had to put it away from the center or they would keep pressing the buttons all the time . (I have a Z2)
Con, the same chipset is untrustable in terms of heating, it really depends on software, we really have to see how it comes.
Any rumors on release date besides just "October"?
I just hope it will have RAW support and i hope they redo the camera software because its pretty crap. I would like to see that they change the lower right button to something more usefull and more integrated like little round orbs in a ring so you can easy pick the mode you want.

Yea i already seen the video that was in the other topic bout the camera so thats why i still asked for RAw support because i think it was a highly requested feature and sony said it would add it if people wanted it. But i doubt sony reads these xda msg and no other way to ask them so guess it will never happen.

Why Would you want RAW support on a smartphone? Why not just take an SLR camera for this?

Why not? They can add it pretty easy and more high ends have this like S6 etc. and RAW support means more control.
