Is there any way to roll back the version of Oculus we have installed to be able to access it again?

Even if you're willing to keep using your Note 7, using it directly in front of your eyes, while running battery-intensive apps, is something you might want to reconsider.

You have got to be joking with that roll back question lmao. I guess his face is worth risking for that sweet Gear VR gameplay. Just replace the phone dude. Theyre doing it for free. Your imei is eventually going to get turned off anyhow.

This better be for the first ("old") version Note 7's because I'll be getting my VR from the recall any day now and I'll be extremely PO'ed if the dang thing doesn't work!

I called Samsung promotions today to see if they'll take back my gear vr that I've only had since Saturday and send a 256 GB sd card instead. The rep said she would put in a request to a higher department so I'm waiting for that to happen. I will likely be getting a v20 so the gear vr is going to be permanently useless for me.

I absolutely love this phone, but now even I am considering exchanging it for a V20. I'm getting extremely fed up with all this bull, and I really don't want a V20 because I really need the S-pen since I use it daily for work notes. I also need the memory card support for all my music, no a Note 5 is out of the question. Man, I should never have sold my Note 4, but I had no idea this crap was going to happen. This is just so dang stupid!

Yeah this whole situation sucks but I think the v20 is as close to a lateral move as possible in this case.

Yeah lookin at the v20 seems the closest to the note 7 even though I really don't lg lol, looks like it has sd card support so I can use the 256gb card I got. I don't use the s-pen alot but sometimes so it's not a huge loss, still nice to have…. Wish I could have my S6 Edge plus back while I waited for the v20 to come out.
Thought the VR that you could get was just for the s7 phones…. Still glad I got the second sd card instead cause I didn't use the vr I got for my s6 edge plus much got it free with the 100 offer they had with Samsung pay. Which I will also miss…. Man this sucks.

Yeah I haven't had an lg phone since the lg vu (what a terrible phone) it's been between HTC and Samsung for me until now. And no actually the vr they give you is the newest one with a swappable USB connector for either USB c or micro USB. I'm going to miss Samsung pay the most out of any feature it's so incredibly convenient, but it's not going to make me choose an inferior phone.

Oh cool, I wanted the second sd card though anyway lol. Yeah I'm a big samsung fan but can't help but wonder if and when it will combust I have a 2 year old, what if he happens to grab it and that's when it happens just along to think of.
The first vr system was neat but I dojt thinking I could watch an entire movie wearing it… it got uncomfortable after wearing it for a bit.

I figured after putting the 256 GB sd card I got for my original note 7 and putting it in my tab s2, the 64 gig card I had in there would be fine in my phone so i figured I'd get a vr headset because it is something I really wanted to try out but couldn't justify buying. Being at new York comic con I got it on Saturday but got less than an hour's use out of it before it got disabled so I couldn't even give it a try.

Package disable Oculus and related items. Doing so wont launch Oculus when you connect your Note7 to the VR.
Pick an alternative VR app from the playstore, launch the app, and connect your devices. Enjoy~

Best Phone I have Ever Used

As you can see im my signature I've been back and forth between Android and iOS a little bit and have now landed back on an Android device, and I honestly think that the Note 2 may well be the best phone I have ever used.
I very nearly got a Nexus 4 but the stock situation and the pretty woeful battery life put me off getting one. But with the troubles I had with my original Note I never even thought about the Note 2 until seeing a few videos on YouTube.
A brief summary of my phone switches:
Had an iPhone 4 started to get a little bored with it and I had seen the Note advertised and found an amazing offer for it and picked it up, but with my knowledge of Android at the time, the horrible ICS update (IMO) and the fact my battery drained itself over night I was just getting annoyed and went back to iOS which I fell back in love with. From that experience I almost said never again to Android. Used iPhone 4 again for a while, still looking around at phones and seeing what was coming out but nothing took my fancy, I was back with iOS. iPhone 5 came out and I jumped straight on it, a month into it Google Announces the Nexus 4, which made me wonder, hmm maybe I was a little quick to judge. The iPhone was boring the crap out of me, don't get me wrong I'm still a little bias towards Apple, I use a bunch of their products and I couldn't live without them at times. But iOS is so stale at the moment, being "just good enough" is not enough. So then I sold my iPhone 5 and got me a Note 2 (After watching hours of videos to be sure the same problems from the Note 1 weren't there).
And so far I am happy to say that they are not! The phone is just so good! I'm still a little worried about the SDS that could happen at any time. But other than that, it's just amazing. The screen, although hard to put screen protectors on, is beautiful and makes media consumption, gaming and everything just so, so good! It's super quick, I've had no lag so far for anything. The S-Pen updates are excellent, just wish there was an app that could really take advantage of the touch sensitivity as S-Note does not, there is no difference in how hard you press at all.
Coming from an iPhone 5 which is super light, compared yes the battery basically weighs more than the iPhone, but the Note 2 is still very light and feels great in the hand. Camera is very good, I think the iPhone tops it, but stock camera app on here is certainly better than stock iOS camera app. I don't use all the TouchWiz features as I am running Nova Launcher Prime, but Multi-Window (after working out how to use it) is so useful at times, when you would least expect it to!
Kind of a small comparison to the iPhone 5, but I hope I got my point out there. It's just an excellent phone and I just hope it can stay that way after a few months of use as I have seen a few threads pop up of some problems, so I'll keep the "best phone I have ever used" until then. But based on first week or so, yes, 100%!
Only small complaint really has to be the lack of good cases made for it, I've got that 6 Abundant one on order, but other than that there isn't much out there, again compared to the iPhone. And there are some apps and games that I do miss from iOS, I may get an iPod touch so I don't waste the purchases I have made.
I'm currently using the official Samsung tpu case and its great.

Nice sharing, from my point of view after tried both iphone 5 and note2. I would say that overally note 2 is better than iphone 5 by a miles.
Besides note2 sizes might not suitable for small hand, camera shutter speed slightly slower than iphone5 and stock internet browsing not smooth as iphone5....other than that, im really cant found any of advantages iphone 5 over note 2.
By the way, the place im stay really easily could find any type of screen protector and case. I has varoius colour of mecury jelly case.

Obviously you dont own an ip5 or never have chances to hold the real devices and test the features.
Read is good...but..try it.......then you will know the result..

Are u iphone lover as well as note lover?
Haha not that it offends me but i just think iphone is overrated. personal point of view. but my view is i just like the quality & resolutions of photos of android phones more than the iphone's. havent tried ip5 but ip4 self-portraits were horrible, and the overall quality of photos cant match up with galaxy S2's.
as i said, just my view. you could prove me wrong.

Well I love my Note 2 too, but two things I don't like, one is, the build quality, it shatters from a soft fall as many users have reported, and the second is camera quality, however I can live with that. But the build quality does scare the hell outta me.
I love my iPhone 5 too.

How do I know if I have this update? My carrier has not released 4.1.2 yet, is it that update?
I have an i phone and interesting with it is like trying to hold a conversation with a rock. I don't get any joy out of using it (have to since its my work phone). The camera on my note 2 is much quicker from my experience but my other daily phone was a thunderbolt before this so that could also be seeing my opinion haha..
Either way the note 2 is better than any phone or right now

You say that you don't see differences in pressure sensitivity with the s pen, it does for me, and should for you too, so perhaps something is wrong.

s Note actually use the pressure value, but the default variation is too small, hard to notice. Ominisketch and sketchbook also use the pressure data. none of them have the option we have on windows for Wacom tablets that can control the min and max size of the brush to map to pressure...

Pulled the trigger on the Note PRO 12.2 today with FREE Keyboard

Happen to be at Best Buy and had always thought the the price was a bit high for the Note PRO 12.2. But today it was on sale, which by the way I was only going to get the 12.2 PRO. My wife said you might as well get the Note PRO for $649.99 and got the $129.99 Samsung keyboard for free. So far, really liking what Samsung has done with this Android tablet. I'm still a Windows user but this really comes close to what I need to get done.
I already tried using a Remote application to access my Surface Pro 2 tablet and works great. I haven't loaded the remote app that Samsung provides. I will continue to use this and test out for on the road use.
*Update: The FREE keyboard deal ended on May 29th.

I had a chance to try the Note Pro 12.2 at Best Buy (they didn't have a display unit but the Samsung rep had her personal tablet available to try). I was surprised by how much I liked it... I expected to be put off by the size. I went ahead and picked one up -- the extra screen real estate makes for a great inking experience with the S Pen.

Thanks... :good: Have to admit. The Galaxy Note PRO 12.2 makes a great Note Pad. Used it today for meetings and really liking the real estate compared to my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Can't wait for the FREE keyboard to arrive. Right now I am using the HP Bluetooth keyboard and a BT Microsoft pointer mouse.

Sure will... By the way I did think of getting the Verizon Note PRO 12.2, but I have AT&T. Do you know if the Verizon Note PRO is carrier unlocked? This is also on sale for $749 and would get FREE keyboard. I already have a few tablets on AT&T and use the SIM card from the tablets to use on the other tablets.

I agree. Without trying it, you might think it is too big. When I first tested the Note PRO and the Tab PRO at CES, I really thought I would pick one up at some point. But I wanted the price to drop. I almost purchased when it had dropped $100 off, but with the FREE keyboard, made me get one.

I took the plunge on Saturday with the sale and free keyboard, which they had to order and should be in tomorrow. I'm liking it so far, although still trying to learn everything and take advantage of the size, pen, and processing power. Got the 32gb black wifi version.

Your post with the free keyboard (is it really a $130 value) made me pull the trigger as well. I will probably root it (basically so that I can put any app in the multi window). But does anybody know if rooting it would affect the screen mirroring?
edit: nvm I just saw the thread that speaks of a fix for the screen mirroring
It's good to see this sale has created such a following for the Note 12.2 on XDA. I wasn't paying much attention to tablet news recently and only accidentally came across the demo for the Tab 12.2 while shopping at Costco. I fell in love with the screen instantly, that was on Saturday and Thursday night I placed an order for the Note directly from Samsung. It's an expensive spontaneous purchase but it has everything I wanted when I tried but failed to like the Nexus 10. Firstly the screen is amazing, it has super battery life, expandable memory, multi-window and the processing power to do everything smoothly. I can't wait to get it, has anyone had the chance to use it on a plane yet? I'm wondering how well it fits on the tray.

Congratulations! I am going for about week using the Note PRO and so far it has met my needs for work and for home use. I got the email that my FREE keyboard was in at Best Buy yesterday but went today to pick up. Unfortunatley the black keyboard is on back order and Best Buy can't even order it. I got the white keyboard for now. The guy at the store said since I have 45 days to keep an eye once the black keyboard was in-stock, then I can exchange it. I am typing on the keyboard and typing is very good. I don't see any problem that would prevent you from using the keyboard to get some serious work done...
I was using the Note PRO to watch a movie the other night to my Samsung Plasma TV... Worked great! No wires.

I got the same sale but am I the only one that is returning tablet?
I just can not find enough reasons to keep it since I already have a powerful laptop and note 3. I am actually leaning towards a surface pro. Reasoning has to do with websites especially ones concerning my college as some websites load weird on the tab. Also even with keyboard its still awkward as it another item I have to keep around while I'm not typing which I want to do papers on this. But since the keyboard doesn't fit well when your using tablet but not keyboard kinda annoying opinions?

I find the Galaxy Note PRO to be able to get work done. Sure it won't replace my Surface Pro 2 but can get most of what I need done. For some this tablet just won't work because they require full Windows application or special programs. The new Surface Pro 3 is pretty much the same size as the Note PRO.

Had to go back to my nexus 5 due to a few drops of water screwing up my s6.... Holy god and it is actually faster than the s6. Not hard video gaming but normal tasks it blows the s6 away. ....Samsung sucks. Android n has released images and we dont even have marshmellow.....pathetic

Samsung suck I have s6 didn't like it I'll go with nexus next year the thing I love about nexus is they always get new updates and this Samsung you wait 100 years to get beta and then wait another 100 years to get official LOL
We've had official Marshmallow for days though .. So much smoother.
Agreed with you OP althought I'm still sticking with my S6 until new nexus arrives.
I returned to my nexus 5 today to see if I can flash Android N images on it and it's so much smoother and faster when it comes to app opening and animations. Of course in gaming and other similiar stuff it is worse but still, clear proof that amazing hardware doesnt mean anything if you have sh** software.
I'm gonna keep my S6 until the S8 comes out. I just can't stand on the looks of pure AOSP. I've been using the MI 3 since it came out and then devs ported/cooked an AOSP Lollipop for it. Yes it's fast and feels really clean. Don't pick me for shooting AOSP though. I liked and loved AOSP, but I grew tired it. There's nothing much to do unless you're a die-hard who customs his phone a lot which can either lead to: a.) Helpful with your everyday task, b.) Just for fun, c.) Waste a lot of time. There are a lot of phone companies here in my country who uses AOSP as their main OS. It just feels so generic nowadays. Like I said, don't get me wrong, I was once a flashaholic and loved pure/customed android.
Yeah me too. Before this (S-S5) will root after 2 months of usage. Flasholic before but after I didn't even bother to root because maybe I grew old now and s6 tw already mature enough with good performance and usability

That's what I felt too. With the MM update, I think I'm very greatly satisfied with my S6 now.
I just bought a Nexus 5x - updates mean more to me than hardware that just suck the battery when idle.....Android N convinced me that i would be waiting 18 more months to get something that I can have in 3 or 4 (or now if i want bugs). Nexus from now on for me....

Hope you get the update quickly. That's not true that number of 920i are higher than 920f. From business perspective and insight in world economic zones, I will be surprised if 920i is even 10% of 920f numbers.

I am also thinking of dropping Samsung. I really love my S6 dual sim, but its ****ing expensive and resell value is crap compared to the price you pay for initially.
Im a light user. I dont play much games and i mostly do web browsing and youtube on my phone. So maybe the nexus is a good option.
However I always end up sticking to my S6 because i am obsessed about camera quality particularly in low-light. and the S6 excels at this ( well low light is not that good but still better than other).
My question is , how does the camera on the nexus compare to the S6 ? it would be really hard to beat.
Sorry for my bad english.
so the only thing you care about is speed? and no, the S6 with MM is faster than nexus 5....it's faster than all android devices excluding the 6p....so please...if you're angry because you missed up you S6 don't blame samsung.....the nexus 5 is below midrange phone......crap camera, battery, design, screen.....
Well galaxy s7 edge is pure junk it still lags I saw mate8 and nexus 6p they don't even blink on multitasking and mate8 Is older than s7...just wait next nexus they will beat Samsung soon they will take over
Android N isn't out yet. It's at a alpha stage. Officially it will be out at the end of the year. Wait for MM and your s6 will be awesome. I know, because i have both (also 5X) phones.

TBH i have always been on Samsung for last few years. Initially with Note 2 more than 3 years and then now using S6 since launch. Sometimes i do feel lag but cant really make out as i hardly used CM on note 2 due to S-Pen features.
Just 2 days back i played mate 8 as its widely available here in China. I do have to say that the device was fluid fast and it was already on MM which i dont know when i will get it on my S6 G9200. I was mighty impressed with how the apps were could be open and app switching was fast even on the browser. Except on apps which refresh everytime you open all the other apps opened instantly where it was at the last state. Just the device was too big at 6" but i have to admit the device was damn fast. I think my device might be a nice Chinese Company since i live in China and its easier to get so might be Mi5 or Huawei product which are anyways half the price of Samsung flagships.
I'm keeping my s6 until it breaks only because I can't afford new phones very often, but my next one is definitely going to be a Nexus. **** TouchWiz, **** samsungs inability to update phones quickly. still waiting for MM on my s6 g920i

Is it worth downgrading to a S7 Edge from a Note 7 (which I still have)?

I love my Note 7 although hate the fact that I can not root or it even use the gear vr with it. I wanted some feedback from some of you who use the s7 edge that maybe had a Note 7 or a Note 5, both of which I still own. I spoke with a rep and saod that Samsung is currently being 100 dollar credit to everyone who turns in their Note 7 and buys another Samsung product.
I think the s7 edge is priced at 780, upfront they want 140. If I return the note 7 I'll be returned 160. I know the s8 is just around the corner, wondering of I should justbwait for it and keep the note 7 I since there's no cut off date for the return it.
Read around about a lag issue when rooting the s7 edge. Is that also an issue with say a Rom like tekhd?
I'm in the same boat as you, they say the lag issue can be fixed with a kernel tweak app.

This situation sucks man. I can't root my Note 7. S7 Edge doesn't sound very stable when modded. -_-

Correct. All you need to change is the governor back to ondemand and set the min / max frequencies back to their proper lowest and maximum values. They come all stuck on 1100mhz and performance governor which causes massive lag.
I'm using the s7e for now. The .2 inches of screen size is negligible in hand. The only major thing missing is a stylus. Yes it doesn't have the iris scanner or USB-C but both of those are really novelty upgrades. Files transfer just as fast over my USB3 ports. I had the iris scanner set up but I don't really miss it. It's neat ...yes.... but the fingerprint scanner is instant logging in and a lot of apps can utilize it. I had both set up on my n7 because of my banking apps using the fingerprint. Pressing the home button to turn the screen on instantly turns on and unlocks provided you're using a finger with a registered print.
Hope this helps

Definitely blows, I'm actually picking up a black s7 edge tonight. I think I might just keep it stock and run the package disabler app like I did on my note 7 before I rooted it. I'm actually hanging on to my note 7 for a little bit longer. Not quite ready to part with it.

Any other small issues when rooting your s7e besides the obvious crap like losing android pay etc. I heard you get a hurricane icon and a few other dumb little things. If so are they easy tweaks to correct? Ya I never really used the stylus pen and the iris scanner didn't excite me. I did use the crap out of the finger print scanner on my apps like you though. I'm hoping Samsung adds some of those little features in a software update. Accessing the notifications on the AOD was nice plus the extra clocks/options with it. I also liked the blue light filter
Well, after I rooted, I flashed a stock rooted deodexed rom for xposed. The creator of echoe rom made it for those who want all of the Samsung / T-mobile bloat. I don't have the hurricane icon anymore lol
Once you root you just need flashfire and download the rom zip to external memory. Then use flashfire to flash the rom package.
I use xposed which works with deodexed roms better so it's been a godsend. First boot will take forever ( 15 plus minutes ).
Everything else seems to work properly. No issues to include wifi calling. That hurricane icon was for LTE if I remember correctly.

root on S7E is simply not worth it. aside from the lag issue (which, btw, is not "fixed" by kernel tweaks but only alleviated slightly), playing 3D intense games will overheat your phone almost instantly, in any climate.
even after you root, you have nothing special to do except install xposed. which is a nightmare on S7E (lag intensifies). even flashing a custom ROM results in a loss as they suffer the same issues (lag, heat, battery).
root isn't what we need on this phone. we need AOSP.
Just got my S7E and while I do miss my Note 7, it'll do. The iris scanner is more than a novelty, in cold weather with gloves on it makes unlocking a breeze. The N7 was perfectly sized and the blue light filter plus better AOD notifications were great, truly usable features.
I struggled with the question also, but this ended up being the only viable alternative. Eagerly awaiting the N8! Let's hope for a removable battery....back to the good old days.
I thought about the S6E+, but no SD is a deal-breaker for me. They can be had very cheap, and the audio is so much better than the crap-DAC that the US 7-series has.
Here's my 2 cents. Basically the N7, feature wise is great device. For me, the Spen was the tipping for staying with line. Because of the current situation with the N7, I was forced to find an adequate replacement I felt would be strong enough to fill the gap of the N7. Owning both Gear VR and 360, I decided to grab the S7E since it was closest to the N7 spec wise. While playing with the S7E, I did go thru some withdrawals of craving the Spen, but what I found most interesting was my newly acquired S7E was noticeably outperforming my previously owned N7's! The S7E was much more consistent with the smoothness and snappiness of the OS. The N7 suffered a bit with stutter, lag, tears in the video thru VR when panning, and it struggle to stream newly recorded videos from my 360 camera. The S7E easily handle the same process heavy task from certain apps that the N7 seemed to struggle with. With all of this said, I believe the N7 could've been a great device, and I loved every bit of its potential, however purchasing the S7E has made me realize that the N7 may have suffered from defects other than the battery, that is causing it to underperform the S7E. So basically I consider the S7E a worthy replacement if you want to stay with the Samsung "experience"!

Just picked up my silver s7e...I'm satisfied with it.
I've had mine for two days. Same situation as you guys. The only major issue I'm having is with overheating while using the Gear VR. My two Note 7's never overheated. After only 15 minutes using Gear VR with my new S7E, it overheats and forces me to exit VR...
I picked up my black s7 edge the other day. its a little bit smoother than my note 7 but in fairness, the note7 only had one software update and the main focus on it was to have the green battery update to confirm its a "safe version"
I would say no.... I had to switch from the note 7. Got this device. Less then 2 weeks later I have a cracked screen and scratches all over.. I have not dropped the device so I don't know where the Crack came from as it is in a case as well. So in comparison to the note 7 this is a pos imo.
We have root and 1 rom basically and it's only a beta. I would NOT recommend this device if your into rom flashing etc.....

i hear you on that too, i had a silver s7 edge loaner during the first recall and i dropped it once from 3ft and the back glass cracked. so this time around i had a case and screen protector bought before i picked up the phone. the s7 edge is definitely fragile which is probably why they upgraded to G5 glass on the N7. i also do like to root and flash but it seems its hit or miss with this device. I'm probably going to attempt it/play around with it but i have a feeling ill be back to stock with some package disabler tweaks. i really didn't want this device but its as close to a note 7 as you're going to get(note 5 doesn't have expandable storage which i need). i can live with this phone until further notice(note 8 release hopefully). always been a note guy since the note 2 and i already skipped the note 5 because of the lack of a sd card slot.
To be honest, I'm a rom flasher on the s7e. All you really need is root with the addition of xposed. Any tweaks / modification can be made still. Thanks to the dev who gave us Echoe Rom , he also gave us a stock rooted deodexed base to work and xposed works flawlessly.I may give his echoe rom a try later but I'm a week into this one and it seems fluid after fixing the governor/ frequency issues on the eng kernel.
That said, I don't use gear VR so I can't speak on how smooth it will work. I CAN however tell you that the battery life is exceptional with a fair bit of heavy use ( Netflix, chatting, fb, screen on etc ) and I wireless fast charge with no issues. The battery doesn't overheat.

I thought hard about getting a S7, I had it as a loaner and loved how easy it fit in my hand. I felt that I didn't even need a case for it. But as I looked at the ROMS available, I saw only one, Echoed. I don't know anything about it or how good it is compare to TEKHD which I have used since it came out on the Note 5.
I am also a flasher and I am consider getting the S7 Edge but wanted to know if the lag issue after rooting is an issue. You did say that it can be fixed but someone had also mentioned that it can't be fixed. I want to be able to flash want to be able to use bad ass kernels etc. I do have my Note 7 stock unfortunately but not by choice.
I am not worried about the glass cracking as I will use a case for it. I'll probably use it for VR too but maybe not as I will have my Note 5 for that.
Any negatives on the S7 Edge? Would you suggest maybe not getting anything at all and stick with the Note 5 until the 8 series roll out?

Considering I'm running a rooted stock deodexed base and have plenty of modules loaded.....trust me...the lag is near non existent ( still smoother than my note 7 was ). You just have to tweak the kernel settings. I'm sure we will eventually get a better kernel. All in good time. Right now I don't have Knox tripped and everything works. Any mods/ colors / themes / etc can be done via xposed.
I'm not saying the other guy who said rooted lag can't be fixed is wrong....but he is wrong. Lol

Note FE to Note 8?

Anyone jumping to the note 8 following launch this weds?
I think for the first time since the note series was launched, I for one will not be jumping in feet first for the following reasons:
My S8+ was worth £240 less after 6 weeks of ownership.
The cost of the note 8 will be ridiculous (almost £1000 going by reports) and based on the above I should be able to pick one up at 40% off in 2 months time!
Loving my note 7 mk3....err note FE.
Samsung are not indicating any discounts for note 7 victims therefore my loyalty is waning.
Anyone else think phones are starting to cost too much?
I will never get rid of my FE...never lol.
Im with you on the 8 though for once I wont pre-order etc etc...
Ive got a few issues with it:
Fingerprint reader still in a stupid spot...my nexus 6p had it in a perfect spot.
Dual camera assembly/bump appearance absolutely ruins the asthetics of the rear of the phone.
Not a huge fan of the screen aspect ratio
And sammy should be discounting the 8 for those of us that went through that train wreck of a recall.. i bought my FE full price bought my S8 plus full price...ive stayed loyal to sammy after all the BS last year. They owe former note 7 people a break.
The colour selection stinks black, dark blue or maple gold only? Wtf?
My s8 is maple gold and its okay but I wouldnt buy it again.
Wheres silver? Silver is what i want.
So yeah i may go another route this year. V30, pixel XL 2, mate 10, HTC U11 hell maybe even the iPhone 8 plus version lol..
sent from my Note FE, S8 plus, or S6
With all the "hands-on" videos coming out I admit it looks very pretty. But I feel like I made the right decision with the Note FE. Like some have said before I just don't like the aspect ratio, I get that its more space for reading and multi-window but for me I watch alot of videos.... and from having the s8+ I didnt like the crop to fit option.
The only major "pro" I see is the Camera, but I dont feel its worth selling my FE and picking up the Note 8
The battery in the Note 8 seems to be lacking a bit, but im sure with the 835 it is power efficient.
This is all just my opinion, If i was given one I would use it, but for now Im enjoying my Note FE with the option to root, no AT&T bloatware, and super cheap accessories.... plus it a phone that no one else will have (I doubt I will run into any of you in public lol)

I've got my Note FE on the way, but, despite my preferences for it vs the Note 8,part of me is a sucker for new hardware.
T-Mobile US has a $0 down lease w/option to buy (JOD), it's tempting, especially since I can "Jump" to another phone in as little as 30 days.

Unfortunately the Note 7 recall discount for the Note 8 is not availble outside the USA otherwise the Note 8 would be a compelling buy.

agree with this so its a no for me especially as I bought from CPW and they certainly won't discount given their profit warning today! The FE is a fine machine and I'll wait until prices drop and I've physically had a play.

Mind if I ask what made you go back to the FE? I saw your original listing on Swappa (and am still kicking myself for not buying it when I saw it) and just noticed you re-bought one yesterday.
I've been on the fence about getting one for awhile now... I've been using an S8+ for about 2 weeks now and it's too flippin' tall for me to use one-handed (without the one-handed mode). And I hate that #[email protected]%# Bixby button (work phone so not customizing it for myself). It's just... hard for me to justify spending $700+ on this thing, even though it ticks all my boxes and I prefer its design over the N8.

I sold the 1st one, anticipating a DualSIM version coming out & thought it'd be a good time to sell it,while there's still interest.
Took that $$$ & bought an Asus ZenFone AR on eBay,sent it right back after discovering this particular model only had Band 2 support (Amazon's has better North American support, but a 2-4 week wait, too impatient).
Thennnn, turned right back to the Note FE,everything else after the original Note 7 paled in comparison.
One of the major draws for me to the Note 7/FE is the overall dimensions & feel-in-hand.
The performance & battery life are right up there.
Not a heavy S-Pen user, but, same as with the now MIA I-R Blaster,it's nice to have when you want/need it.
The Note 8 is likely not much more than a curiosity, but, who knows,it may grow on me. (Just as you,I I didn't care much for the S8+,ditched mine after about six weeks)
If it ends up sitting unused for days at a time,I'll JOD that much sooner to the V30.....
Pricing on the FE in the future, that's a tough call, but, current pricing seems to indicate that if you wait just a bit,the Gold version could soon dip below $700.
The Onyx Black FE is fetching top dollar,if that's what you want,I'd keep watching Swappa..............

Sweet, thanks for the reply.
I always buy my phones outright (I'm prepaid) and usually use a phone until it dies, hence struggling with the decision. I just want my physical buttons and front-facing fingerprint reader...
Only thing really keeping the N8 in consideration right now for me is the dual camera... been trying to figure out what differences there are between the main N8 camera and the S7/N7 camera (since they're using the same sensor). The secondary lens just doesn't seem that useful to me.
And yeah, I'm after the black one, which seems to be the only one going up in price on ebay. There are a lot fewer listings now than a month ago, not sure if that means no more stock for the distributors/resellers to buy and then flip.

Not on Rogers, but Samsung pay doesn't work unless you have a korean sim card (you might need a korean credit card if you want to use it)
