I don't know did anybody notice this, but I couldn't find any thread about it.
When you change XA theme (it's probably the same with all X series Xperias) to white, when in lockscreen, all the status bar icons are turning to dark grey logically, otherwise they would be invisible on white background. However, the network coverage icon stays in white, being almost invisible, and making the gap between WiFi and Battery icons. Looking incosistent and not that pretty though.
Also, it's the same in Calendar app, or any other app having the white background. I hope this will be fixed in some of the upcoming updates.

I'm on 33.2.A.2.93 version. Well, it's definitely a software glitch, I just wanted to check if anybody else is experiencing the same, and to which version of software this is related. So it was OK back on .73 version then. Now it's just a question what about versions above 33.2.A.2.93.

I had no problem changing the clock on 33.2.A.2.35, 33.2.A.2.73, 33.2.A.2.93 or 33.2.A.3.81.
The data indicators on WiFi icon are the only ones that stayed white on a white background on mine. Not noticed it on the latest firmware to be honest.

I never said that there is problem with CLOCK. It's just the network icon that stays white, when all the other status bar icons are turning to dark grey. Also, no modifications are made to software, it's pure stock, unrooted.
And by the way, it's the same with Lime and Rose themes.
Last night I got the update 33.2.A.3.81 and it's still the same.
Related
1. Black status bar
I was always very careful to avoid screen burn by using ADW launcher to hide the notification bar but I still had to worry when going into things like settings or the stock browser. Now I no longer have to worry whatsoever!
2. Great battery life
Gingerbread has been fantastic for my battery life. Before with Froyo I would have to carry a spare battery to make sure I made it through the day. With Gingerbread thats a thing of the past and I haven't had to use a spare battery even once.
3. Tube TV style power off effect
I never get tired of this. Has anyone else just turned their phone off and on to keep seeing of this cool visual effect? I love the extras Google put into GB.
4. Better keyboard
I like the stock keyboard much better than it was before. The text selection seems much more accurate and more along the lines of iPhone's perfect virtual keyboard.
5. Better battery life statistics
I love how when I reboot the phone it still shows the current battery statistics since I've been unplugged. Before with Froyo the battery statistics would completely reset if you rebooted the phone.
6. Youtube videos in portrait mode
I love the new YouTube application that comes with Gingerbread! I greatly prefer the ability to watch videos in portrait mode so that they are less pixelated
7. Wifi sleep policy fixed
I love how Gingerbread has finally fixed the wifi sleep issue. Before with Froyo even if you set the wifi sleep policy to "never sleep" it would still lose connection when you put the phone to sleep. I no longer have this problem with Gingerbread.
8. Much better text selection for copy/paste
Man I HATED having to use the trackball to select text with Froyo. Gingerbread's text selection has been a breath of fresh air and just as perfect as iOS's.
9. Nice eye candy effects of the orange highlights at the end of scroll lists
Little things like this and the power off visual really puts the cherry on top of an OS like Android and show how polished it will eventually move towards. Eye candy is almost an essential part of an OS looking great and Gingerbread is no exception.
AND BEST OF ALL.......
10. Continuous Google support for the Nexus One!!!
Wow. Google is amazing.
When the Nexus S came out I was one of the weak minded individuals that thought perhaps Google might abandon the Nexus One completely and instead focus on their new toy: the Nexus S. Oh how wrong I was
Google has come through and shown us Nexus One owners that while they are still terrible at giving timelines, they really do care about us Nexus One owners and have gained lifetime immunity from me doubting them for all future updates
Youtube videos in portrait mode are not new in Gingerbread
Bravo!!!

Well summarized! Agree with all those positives on my N1 with GB, and I've had no big issues! And the 5.08 radio has improved my up/download 3G speeds...
For me, the WiFi sleep policy issues stills happening. After some minutes, I lost the WiFi connection even when it was setting to never sleep.

Nice thread. I agree with pretty much everything.
Black status bar is nice. (finally stock)
i have not seen this posted anywhere else, but i have a bad screen burn when text/browsing in portrait mode from the old light colored status bar from 2.1/2.2
My only complaint is that I now need to turn wifi off if I'm going to be away from a wifi source for any period of time. Right after the GB update my battery life took a horrible plunge. Checking the battery history showed the android os sucking up massive amounts of battery. After a little experimenting I noticed that if I'm home where I have constant wifi I'm fine. Once I leave home the android os starts sucking battery even when phone is not on use. I found that turning off wifi solved this issue.
I'm guessing that the new wifi sleep policy has my phone constantly searching for wifi and therefore killing my battery very quickly. Not sure why this shows as android os using battery instead of wifi. Never had this issue with 2.1 or 2.2.
Other than that I love GB!

I doubt there will be a 2.4, that wouldn't make any sense since they already said the next major update will be from the honeycomb branch. That said there had better be a 2.3.4 coming soon to fix the major bugs still afflicting gingerbread.
Only issues I've noticed coming from KH3 are:
1. The default font sucks (and there's only two other slightly less sucky choices)
Can we get the fonts from KH3 anywhere?
2. The lock screen clock has a leading "0" even when not needed, so the clock in the lockscreen reads, for example: 04:25PM. Of course, I'm not on 24 hour preferences in the display, or this would read differently (I tried it.)
Not thrilled about that at all. Anyone else see that?
3. The dialer says "Favourites" which isn't a US English spelling, despite the fact that this is how I use my phone primarily, and how it is set now in Language preferences.
Did you change your language to United States English?

The fonts are in /system/fonts folder. I am on KH4 and not noticed any difference.
I suppose you could copy the KH3 fonts into the KH4 folder and reboot your phone.
I have not tried this as I am using the Choco cooky font.
As an alternative, you can do a google search for fonts and install the ones you like. I tried this and installed some interesting fonts but got tired of them after awhile.
As far as cycling through the screens, I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary. I am using Launcherpro Plus.
What about the leading 0 in the lockscreen clock?
How can I get rid of that? I hate it. I flashed back to KH3 and cleared everything via CWM, yet it persisted. I went back to KH4 and did the same thing, still there.
For example, I'm on 12 hour time US English settings and my lockscreen clock will read: 09:45 PM
The dialer still says "Favourites" instead of "Favorites."
Anyone?
(I'd also love it if someone could post the KH3 fonts)

Just a thought is their a American English language pack .
jje
I have noticed some weird effects on my screen since upgrading to KH4 where fonts arent completely black, but lets say in the sentence "The cat ate the bird" two of the words would be slightly grey, and this occurs throughout black text on white backgrounds.
Also I have noticed the left side of the screen in some apps, seems to be darker than the right.. so i'm going back to UK stock KE7 to see whether it still does that.
Apart from those, it seems blazing fast with no bugs from what I can see.

The thing is that the leading "0" in the lockscreen clock is wrong in ANY language.
For example, if you change 2:00 PM to 24 hour time, it should read 14:00
In this ROM, using 12 hour time, the lockscreen clock reads 02:00PM
That's the problem, and I'm not sure how to solve it, but I don't think the language is the issue, because the ROM has US English as an option... and I'm using it.
Is there anything positive about KH4 compared to KH3 which can be noticed?
There is no us firmware released yet, so that's why "favorites" is "favourites" and the issue with the clock its not an issue at all, I'm on kh3 and its the same.

Thanks for that. I'm really surprised if that's the case, because I was almost positive that the lockscreen clock wasn't like that for me when I first flashed KH3. I was pretty sure it only started for me after KH4, but I could be wrong.

Hi all,
i bought a I9505 16 GB in germany and after some hours of testing i found an
issue with the screen color. It seems that the black color (OLED pixel should
set to off) aren't set to off. The color looks like black with 5 % red brown and you
can see it in dark ambience with large black area (e.g. ScreenTester )
I changed the device to another one and saw the same problem. But this time i get
an OTA update. After the update (the last for germany i think MDM ) the problem
is gone. Ok now i know that the problem isn't a not fixable hardware problem or
only a software problem...
i startet some test...(i didn't change modem and csc)
1) flashed a costum recovery -> black isn't black in CWM and Touch
1.1) created a backup from stock rom
2) flashed CM 10.1 (build from 19.5) -> black isn't black
3) restore backup from stock rom -> black is black
4) flashed a the omega rom 3.0 -> black isn't black
4.1) flashed the adam kernel 1.2 (with update 1 from samsung) -> black is black
-> The fix/cause for my problem is placed in the kernel.
Maybe the kernel developers can check what are the differencies between
the kernels and update the kernel sources from modded stock Kernels, CM,
CWM and so on...
big thx
its a known bug and you have to update your firmware to the latest version to fix this. i had this bug earlier and after an OTA update its fixed, it never showed up even with custom kernels(9500), not sure whether the kernel sources for 9505 has the fix included...

mhm, so it seems that many kernels sources which are used in cwm, touch recovery and CM doesn't include the fix.
Is the fix delivered by samsungs update 1? because the adam kernel which use this update doesn't have the bug.

Upgraded using Sony PCC yesterday, and must say that I like the new build very good. My phone is totally stock, unrooted, non branded version.
Overall the speed of the phone is a lot better. Especially in Hangouts and the launcher. No more waiting for two seconds after pressing the "home" button for icons to show.
Also battery is drastically better for me. Two hours screen time, an hour of talking, everything on sync as normal and still 70 % battery after 12 hours... Pretty impressive.
Still have black screen in Chrome on multitask, though. Annoying
Anyone else have experiences or bugs to share? I will try to sum it all up in this first post, making it easier to get an overview. I will mark the info I have been able to confirm with green color.

any can confirm it?
Now that Lollipop 5.1.1 has officially released by Sony, what are your impressions? Is it worth the upgrade from kitkat or lollipop 5.0.2?
Please share your experiences.
Camera focuses MUCH faster and I have convenient shortcuts in status bar for wifi and bluetooth. I don't have any problems with 5.1.1 nor did I have with 5.0.2.
Z3(5.1.1) stands for a while, line messages won't notice me.
It works great with one exception, every time I power up my phone I'm getting the following message:
5.1.1
I don't know when the launcher was updated to have a custom drawer layout but it's extra smooth and now for the first time ever I'm using a default launcher because I can arrange the apps and hide them out of the way, etc.
The ui feels silky smooth and fluid compared to 5.0.2, I feel like I'm using the z3 again and not some ****ty galaxy ace with unofficial lollipop or something.
Overall the looks and performance have gotten a lot better.
The sound still needs improvement.
What about the audio during calls when using the speaker phone option?
I feel after updated to 5.1 phone easy get warm up
For me biggest bug at the moment is that after deblocking screen colors are washed out when brightness autolevel enabled.
Only had the update installed for around an hour, so my experience is limited. I'll update this post once I've had time to use it for a while.
However, immedietly I have noticed that my phone is MUCH more responsive and fluid. There isnt a stutter when I open my app draw, it's now instant.
I havent noticed a differnece in sound quality - or if I have it isnt a huge difference.
It does seem to be running warmer than usual.
The camera now loads instantly when I press the hard camera button, which is really nice.
two days, no bug for the moment
