Help Regarding Cyanogenmod 13 - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Hi, I have a redmi 2 prime running fastboot flashed kitkat based MIUI 6.7.1.0 stable. I'm using TWRP to flash cm13 and gaps and when the phone boots up, during cm13 setup screen, at last it stucks at please wait a sec and nothing happens even after 10 minutes. I even tried Mokee rom and same happened. When I flashed both the ROMs without gaps then there were no errors and ROMs worked flawlessly. Please somebody help me! !

Ok , here is the fix for you , you just have to flash the Rom.zip (whatever custom rom you want) , and do not flash the Gapps (google apps) , reboot the system after flashing only the rom and complete the setup , after that again boot to recovery mode and normally flash the Google apps and your problem will be solved

I flashed CM ROM today to try and see what progress has been made. I decided to return to the stock ROM. Flashed the stock ROM and wiped everything except system partition. Rebooted the phone and it is resetting itself at the first logo now. The second stage of boot (animated logo) doesn't initiate.
Download and Recovery modes work. Flashing the stock firmware with both Odin and Smart Switch didn't fix the problem. I tried PIT file and NAND Erase with a no go. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: After spending some time trying, I realized I can only boot CM. Maybe CM caused this problem or the Gapps package I have been using. I am not sure. I'll be happy if anyone can help me fix this problem.
just flash cm12.1 (clean install without gapps ) do not let device boot just flash and then flash any rom you like it (dirty flash )
sorry for bad english

this doesnt work mate

OnePlus 2 never boots up into system, but boots into recovery and fastboot mode.

I Installed the unofficial cynogenmod 14 with gapps , and i was enjoying the new rom. After using the rom for 8-10 hours , the mobile froze , so i had to restart the phone . After the phone started , it started to lag , and while it was lagging it restarted on its own, and was stuck on boot logo.
I waited for a long time for it to boot up , but it was stuck there , so i tried flashing the unofficial cm14 again as it was in the internal storage , but the result was same no matter how many times i try , and in between numerous OS flash attempts , i accidentally wiped the INTERNAL STORAGE
Getting the PC to recognize the phone , and also for the ADB and FASTBOOT to work properly was way too much of a pain , but i was able to get everything correct so ADB and FASTBOOT were working .
AND THAT'S HOW MY JOURNEY BEGAN.
I HAVE FLASHED ALL THE OTA ROMS , flashed the official cynogenmods , flashed the unofficial cm14 and cm 14.1 , tried flashing thru MSM8994DownloadTool , all of the Roms i FLASHED were successful even the MSM8994DownloadTool was SUCCESFULLY FLASHED
BUT MY PHONE STILL DOESN'T BOOTS UP IN SYSTEM , IT'S STILL STUCK AT THE ONEPLUS BOOT LOGO
I LIVE IN BANGLADESH (ASIA) , after i failed so many times and given up all hope , i went to the mobile shops for repairing the HALF DEAD SOUL , and its really sad that even they were not able to make it LIVE AGAIN
ANY HELP TOWARDS MY SITUATION WILL BE REALLY REALLY APPRECIATED
It maybe cause of old modem. try restoring to stock(i.e oos 3.x) or flash latest modem then latest recovery and Rom.

Are you following the right steps to flash rom? if you don't rom won't boot. also try resetting your phone to stock, it might help you.

Oreo 8.0 8.1 installing issues

Hi you there,
I start this thread because I´m having some issues installing 8.0 and 8.1 Oreo Roms, every of them have the same problems when I try to install them in my device (REDMI 3X). Actually, I have install and running Resurrection Remix Nougat + Gapps Micro, and it works fine.
When I try to install some Oreo Rom, I have these 2 possible options:
1 - I install rom + gapps (no matter which one, cause I tried each one): phone restarts and stucks at logo and after maybe 30 minutes I must restart it manually and reinstall a nougat rom. It never starts, and it is f...ng annoying.
2 - I install rom, afterwards, I restart and it works fine, but I have no gapps. The I boot into recovery and after gapps are installed I restart the phone, then gapps never work.
Please, I just get 2 times an oreo rom working, but now they never work, I don´t know whta to do. I also tried different recoveries, flashing them from PC, installing them from .img with TWRP, nothing seems to work. As I said: F...NG ANNOYING. I need heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp
I think I am not the only one with this problem, if anyone can help I will appreciate that.
Thansk in advance.
First of all, this should be in the Q&A section. Secondly, I can help you. I'm sure that you downloaded the gapps from the cloudkenzo something, right? Yeah those gapps do not have any issues, instead they make an issue. After flashing your rom and then these gapps file, the system partition normally unmounts. But usually when you boot into the ROM, the partition should re-mount. These unofficial gapps causes some issues with that. A simple solution- Just mount system in twrp, now reboot to system and you should be fine. I faced the same issue and this is my solution.

Make sure using the latest twrp.
If u already have the latest twrp then the problem is in gapps, use gapps for oreo 8.1, maybe there is posted in ur rom thread

I already tried, it did not work, I have installed last gapps 8.1, last twrp, last everything and it never works, it keeps stucking again and again.
same ****ty problem with my 3s 2gb .. doesnt matter which oreo 8.1 rom i flash.. tried almost 4 oreo 8.1 roms.. all couldnt boot.. and if by chance it boots then cant add google account..
yet to try that 'Mount' thing solution suggested by Williams
You ask in wrong place stupid!
Ask in Q&A section stupid!
This section jus for downloading rom and kernel stupid!
I face the same issue with a Redmi 3 S (global version) with 3 GB RAM. Nougat ROM's are fine but all Oreo ROM's which I tried (most recent builds of PixelExperience, crDroid, Atomic-OS) show these boot loops. This is all with the latest TWRP installed (also tried custom builds), cleaned properly my device and was using the linked Oreo GAPPS. I usually flash in one instance 1) ROM, 2) GAPPS and 3) Magisk.
The only time I had a working Oreo ROM was after several tries with PixelExperience where on my last try I booted into safe mode and it somehow worked after that.

if u want to use custom rom just follow proper steps and it will install.
-unlock bootloader (which i assume u already have)
-fastboot boot latest twrp
-do a full wipe and reboot to bootloader.
-again fastboot boot the latest twrp
-now copy rom, gapps, magisk(mandatory) and twrp installer(optional)
-install rom and twrp installer only
-reboot to booatloader and fastboot boot twrp again or if u installed twrp installer just reboot to recovery.
-now flash magisk and gapps
-reboot system
By mistake if u flashed factory.bat then read this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/guide-how-to-restore-imei-permanently-t3759190
if your phone is rebooting after every 60 sec then u most probably corrupted /persist. Don't worry custom roms will work without any problem as they don't touch persist.
did you by chance used flash_factory.bat in mi flash tool ?

i will try to use custom rom and i hope it will work
and i did use flash_all_lock_crc.bat in mi flash tool then i'm start getting the restart problem with unread sim card
use flash_all_lock.bat only or flash all except storage.bat or flash_all.bat .except these nothing else.
flash custom rom or flash_all_lock.bat in mi flash tool (it will work work most probably).

Boot to recovery with Power + Volume up, and dirty-flash your ROM. Don't change the kernel, and don't root.
If that doesn't fix the problem, then do a clean flash of a ROM that you know will work.

U can go in the recovery mode, when not in the fastboot?
1. Dirty flash havoc.
When it don't work, recovery, format system, dalvik, cache, maybe data and flash the rom without the kernel.
Or first flash another kernel and test. I use morfuz with havoc.

WHAT is dirty? how to do that?
No need to format system, cause in result page - they said there is no system...
i will flash kernal when the stopped saying no system found...
BTW I THOUGHT EVIRA is best... why using morfuz?
Dirty flash is without format
Dead
Format system or mi flashtool back to miui without look bootloader, then fastboot recovery flash, format all and then flash ur steps.

2. When first don't work. Look by thee tool on the right side down.
Normally is on clean all and look
1.But maybe first make a backup from ur sd to ur computer. Format system, vendor (not vendorimage), data, dalvik, cache and internal.
Then copy all, rom.zip, gapps and Orangenfox.zip to ur internal sd with a computer in recoverymode.
Flash Orangenfox.zip and the recovery reboot.
Make ur flash steps.
Fixed?
