I have moved my market and browser cache to sd about 2 weeks ago and have not noticed any problems, yet reading here it seems to be causing problems for many others. Can anyone who is having those problems tell me what they are and how you get them? I want to make sure everything is running as smooth as it seems or put it back (ouch, id have to uninstall a lot of crap).
i moved all three caches (webview, market, and street) under jf modified rc 30, no issues. i flashed Dev Phone 1 and moved everything again. no issues.
i do not think the market cache has anything to do with uninstalling the apps. the cache, is just the display info before you install.
flashing - yes then you will have to reinstall the apps.
How do I move all market and browser cache to SD?
Moving all the market cache to SD also means that all installed applications will be installed on SD?

Last I checked, the Search button works
2 days ago, when i tried to open the market, (wifi) i got an error (A Server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen)
and after this, it says that i have to terminate the market applicazion (processocom.android.vending)
what can i do to work the market?
thanks
ps: i have cyanogen 3.9.7 and i tried to put another build or upgrade this versione (without wipe) but the problem is the same
Same thing here
Mine started the same thing today I reflashed (without a wipe) as well and removed a theme to see if it would help. I am wondering if it is a market error or something.
Happened to me just now after I wiped.
EDIT. Wiped again and made sure NOT to restore anything related to the market and it works fine now.
what can i do if i want not wipe it?
@Gamempire:
Don't use the market if you don't want to wipe.
not very good xD where can i download the apk?
Got Mine Working
I figured out why mine wasn't working. I used the TA Utility to move my Appstore Cache to my SD card and when I loaded a new theme for some reason or another it moved it back to the internal memory. I went back into the TA Utility and moved it back to the SD card and it worked fine. When you did a wipe, it must have recreated the cache folder for you.
You could always go to the com.android.vending folder and delete the data for just market. OR go to application information for market and clear the data/cache
Grab the app called Backup for Root. Backup everything with it.
Nandroid back up (just in case)
Wipe,
log in your phone,
then restore everything except market using Backup for Root
There, now it's just like you never wiped and Market will work,
Umm never tried the backup for root before, guess I will have to give it a go. I did try to clear cache from the apps at first and that did not work. Maybe the idea for deleting the folde would have
Mine did this when I used TA Utilities then deleted the cache on my sd. When I ran TA Utilites again it worked fine.
I DID IT!
i move the cache with ta utility from internal memory to sd and it works now!!!
woooooooooooooooow

How do you know what restore and what exclude with Backup for Root?
I have been trying this, excluding some files (I think com.android.vending, etc.) but after I do the restore the problem comes back.
Gameboid was force closing on me, so I uninstalled it. Went to reinstall and I'm getting an installation error, "Insufficient storage available". My internal SD has 750 MB available. My app partition has 600 MB available. My external SD has 6 GB available.
In Root Explorer, I did a search for "gameboid", and deleted any related files. I wiped cache and dalvik in recovery. I tried a reinstall from Titanium, but got the same error. I'm trying to avoid a factory reset. Any suggestions?
Bumpity bump bump
Can someone tell me what's going on? I have plenty of system space and SD space but everytime I try to update any app, I get insufficient storage available. I've cleaned the cache and deleted many apps but still this remains. I even cleared Google Play Store and the data.
Never had this happen before where I couldn't fix it.
Note, this happens when I try to update or install an app from Google Play or if I try to sideload any app
Did you force "install app to sdcard directly"?
"If someone helps, never forget to hit thanks ? "
Install SdMaid Pro app from Play Store.. Then clean your system.
P.s. YOU NEED ROOT ACCESS
I didn't force install or side load. I have root and my system is clean. I cleared almost all caches and cleared data and cache from play store. I even cleared the dalvik cache.

Take a look if the apps are in APPLICATION MANAGER -> SD CARD and are moved to the SD CARD.
SOLUTION
1) You can make a test. Take out the SD CARD and try to update one of that apps. Go to point 2 if works and you don't get any message.
2) I had same problem. My solution was change the SD CARD coz was faulty. Good luck :highfive:

Hi
i already had this problem on my old s2 because i patched the apps with lucky patcher to remove the adds.
Lucky patcher install an odex file in the system, and this causes the problem.
If you can unpatch the apps you want to update via lucky patcher, do it. (Or maybe remove manually the odex file via an explorer)
As i didn't need to keep the datas for the apps, my solution was to uninstall the apps i wanted to update, launch lucky patcher so that it removes automatically the odex file, and reinstall the app via google play ...
Hallo..
i have problems with installing some apps from Market. I have 5gb freespace internal and 11gb on SDcard.
i have tryed clear dalvik cache from recovery and system cache also from the recovery. tryed clear cache with "cache fixer" and from settings -> apps -> google play store -> clear data and cache, still no luck :-/
so any ideas ?
