I know there's many threads like this already, but as there's new roms and soft mods being made I thought i'd make my own. So i'm going on holiday In around two weeks, and i need a stable rom to keep me going. I'm going for 2months, and probably won't have internet access for the most part.
There's a few things I'm looking for:
- Decent battery life
- Decent free ram
- ^ Good enough for some games when I'm bored.
- Somewhat stable
- Gingerbread*
- Fast and smooth
- Good enough to make clear calls
That's about it, I'm curectly using ICM cm9 by miroslavv (sorry I forgot the exact name), But I guessing I should go use a more stable ROM.
Thanks in advance.
I was also wondering if i got a new digitaliser, would it sort out the calibration problem? (I''ve read that it does)...
:good:
Tejas build three ;D is best
-i have 2 days of battery life with games and wifi turned on
-minimum 50 mb of ram average on my phone is 70-80 some times 90
-i play PvZ,Fruit Ninja,Asphalt 5 on it and it's smooth
-it's very stable and it doesn't have any bug's
-2.3.7 GB CM 7.2
-it's very fast and smooth
-When someone call's you it shows imidietly which number and who,you can talk normally like on every phone and speaker is working
I dont know about digitizer...
I'm actually with 2.1 by miroslav
The only thing that i need is a ROM that the battery lasts at least 20hs with GPS on, because i use CardioTrainer for recording my bike trips, and this weekend i'm going to go biking for 3 days in a row, so i'll need the phone to last at least 20hs perday with gps on
any sugestions?

Only 2.1 can do that.
A new battery gave me 50% more juice
Edit: original battery by LG

Yeah, i thought so =(
But i'm having a lot of FC's in some random apps, for example maps, titanium backup, lancher, system. Even when i'm not using them! Does anyone know why?
Should i go for stock? but without root it will suck =(

yes, but it is smaller then stock, you need only 140mb system size (for stock 250mb i think), and it is rooted and you can oveclock, support ext3/ext4.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364416 try this.. For me this rom is stable, fast and smooth... This rom is the best..
What about the smoothness, quickness and stability of GREENDROID? is it quick for multitasking etc?

well its just like any 2.1.
with some overclock it should be with good speed
RAM isn't a problem for 2.1
edit: stability of course very high

ok cool thanks for quick reply these htcs are way diffrent than my lg g2x ha i like how much easier that phone was...whats a good rom for this phone im going to try out the nexus ics one
no problem haha
For starters, I would suggest a CM or an AOSP rom:
For CM9: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361859
For AOSP ICS: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
Then if you get bored of them, try out the variety of sense roms

have you tried any of the jellybean roms out yet
JB ROMs aren't fully working yet and not really good for daily use. All of the ICS ROMs are good, but I'd recommend changing the launcher to GO Launcher as the ICS launchers can have poor frame rates if you have many widgets on your home screen. And as for you saying that this phone is harder to flash, I'd say it's unique, but far easier and more risk free than flashing other devices once you know what to do

I agree with you on l it me 10 mins to figure out how to install clockwork and everything n get a custom rom up and going
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
I can also recommend Apex launcher (On ICS and JB) if you like the stock look of the ICS/JB/Trechubet launcher. It's much smoother and has many more options.

Surprisingly, I have better battery life in Android than in WP7. I think you should flash another radio if you are getting bad battery life as that is what caused bad battery life on my HD2.
WP7 is much more fluid than Android, and everything works, including 720p recording.

Depends...When on Mahdi I can usually get 6-7 hours heavy usage(jumping between games and browsing on xda)and usually still have 10-15%...I don't like to let it get much lower as I had an older device run out and never take a charge again...

Hey, no one said you have to like it
Talking only about MM systems.
DU is my prefered in this moment. Has good features, smoothness and battery.
AICP is the most complete but I'm not getting results in smoothness and battery as good as DU. Gets better with Lambda kernel.
crDroid is maybe the most smooth, has good battery but not so much features.
The best MM custom kernel actual is Lambda, specially the most recent builds (Beta).
Off course devs are working to get their ROMs better at each build, so it's always worth to try each ROM for yourself and see what you think about latest builds.

Yes, I mean Marshmallow.
I heard DU 6.0.1 is having some problems with Bluetooth. I said I heard because I never use Bluetooth, so I can't be sure about how it is.
Camera is also not so good as stock camera, but still is pretty good, I can use it as daily camera. Custom ROMs AOSP/CM have not so good camera, it's common, but I think it worth cause you gain with smoothness, features (Ambient Display, Easy flashlight, Themes, Navbar and Statusbar configs, and lots of other features). You can have more control over your system.

Google edition 1.4 + Xceed kernel 14 = Awesomeness
i've just bought the oneplus 5 a week ago and i am very impressed with the phone so far but i want some help regarding battery life i'm getting mostly 6-7 hrs of SOT on OOS which is very impressive but i've seen some people here getting like 10 hrs of SOT i'm not a heavy user i mostly use the phone for youtube and music streaming services such as spotify and i also use facebook, snaptchat and whatsapp also my phone is always connected to wifi and i don't do any heavy gaming on the phone so can anybody recommend a good battery friendly rom and kernel which would push my SOT up a notch i've seen in some posts that the lightning kernel with the spectrum app helps alot but i really don't know
i've tried to attach some screenshots of accubattery to show my usage and battery health but it's not allowing me to post links or images it's the first time i make a thread and also i never go past 50% brightness if anybody could provide any suggestions for me i'd truly appreciate it thank you
For me at least, it's hard to say. I know this might not be the answer you're looking for, but the best thing in my opinion, would be to just flash a few ROMs and see which provides the optimal features+battery life for you.
My usage is going to be different from you, so if I say "X" ROM gives me 10 hours of SOT, that may not hold true for you.
Even though you provided some info on what your usage is like, I'd still recommend just flashing and testing out yourself! I feel you'd get the best idea by experiencing ROMs out there first-hand, rather than others recommending what they use/is best for them!

If you are encrypted then Bluetooth media will work, just not Bluetooth calls. For me, Bluetooth calls is not a deal breaker, and I think the dev is working on a fix for an upcoming build; don't quote me on that though lol
