Hello everyone I'm trying to go from 6.0 to 7.0 but I keep having so many issue with all ROMs I try crashing what are the proper steps to upgrading
This should be in the q&a thread
They're probably crashing due to the updated vendor and other images. I always update manually with Heisenberg's guide in the general forum. It's stickied. I would update manually with fastboot and then flash a custom 7.0 ROM if you wish.

Hi there,
Official update of Lollipop you wont receive anymore.
Until the mods will move this thread to the device specific forum please register an account on XDA forum :

Q&A for [RECOVERY][YotaPhone2][Lollipop][ROOT]Modified YotaPhone 2 Stock Recovery for ROOT
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [RECOVERY][YotaPhone2][Lollipop][ROOT]Modified YotaPhone 2 Stock Recovery for ROOT. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
Sorry for my ignorance...
but I can't understand if is it possible to flash a kitkat yotaphone 2 with this image,
or can I use it only if I already received the OTA lollipop update?
In Italy we're still waiting for lollipop!!
thank you so much!
P.S.: lollipop kernel source code request sent to yotaphone
Consider yourself to be lucky, as there are a number of ppl reporting battery drain with lollipop. Maybe you get a patched version by the time it hits your country.

There's a fair chance it would work with a kitkat device too, but I haven't tested that. To minimize risk, just boot the recovery once, (instead of flashing). For kitkat there's also at least one other way to root: with Kingoroot.
Edit: to be clear: the recovery image is not a complete ROM, so while it might work on kitkat to help root it by flashing SuperSU with it, it won't automatically upgrade your device to lollipop... Guess you'll have to wait or obtain a fota zip from somewhere (no, I don't have any for you . Thx for submitting a kernel source request, hope more people do the same
OTA update problem?
A few minutes ago I received a system update (with some buxfixes for EPD widgets etc.). Download was ok, but the installation didn't work.
Error: /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system has been remounted R/W; reflash device to reenable OTA updates; Error in /cache/update/yotaphone2-user-EU1.1.44-from-EU1.39.zip (Status 7); Installation aborted.
So with a rooted Yotaphone 2 (with Lollipop) I can still download but not install OTA updates, right? Can I integrate these updates manually somehow? But OTA update from Kitkat to Lollipop worked fine although it was rooted?!
Edit: "fastboot oem unlock" before using the modified recovery to root the phone is the problem and it's currently impossible to lock it again, correct?
Edit2: It seems I tried the same things as Jeopardy. So the solution is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61451450&postcount=22
Hi Guys I wanted to ask that I have LG G3 D855 and I am running a custom ROM Blisspop v3.7 . I am getting update v3.9-d855 12th August and Its asks me whether to download or ignore.. Now the thing is if I download this file on my G3 so would it update the ROM automatically or I have to go to TWRP recovery and flash the update and the Gapps... ?? I am attaching a screenshot to show you.
Please let me know as I haven't gone through this thing before.
First there is a dedicated thread for Bliss Pop over in the ROMs area:

And also there's an Q&A area for starting threads asking questions.
Thread Closed.

You'd have better luck asking this question in the thread for the recovery you're using.
This thread will be reported as it doesn't belong in the development section. However, I'll give you some time to post your question in the relevant thread first.
Hi,
after updating through LG program, now I have an original PIE branded rom, but have no twrp nor root.
I'm searching for a guide to install twrp and root to an original and clean pie rom, but I find only old guides.
How to install twrp and root to my original pie rom? Links appreciated
Thanks

Hello!
Why did you not look at the guides section of this forum before asking - that's BASIC forum etiquette!
Please do that, there's a pinned (!) guide for unlocking the bootloader and installing twrp, so you don't even have to search.
So next time please do search and not just claim to do so (searching requires actual looking) and don't start another useless thread.
Regards
PS if you're absolutely clueless, ask in the noob friendly thread (again, pinned).

I already looked to that guides, infact I used them to install twrp and root when I was on nougat or oreo, because they are guides that were created in nougat or oreo times or, best, they clearly state for what version they're right. But reguarding android pie I have not found anything by "date" or by "clear reference to pie"... Have I been clear?

Nothing has changed, it still works, as I myself can confirm (just did it last week, when camera started freezing on me, going back from an Android 10 ROM - flashed stock Oreo via lgup, upgraded, installed twrp via fastboot, rooted, np).
But to reiterate... Why exactly didn't you ask in the corresponding thread? Sorry, but I'm a stickler for uncluttered forums.
