This question is addressed to developers mostly.
Is there a difference in modem between MPH24.107 AND MPHS24.107 (Notice the extra S)?
Both are single SIM but I can't find the actually differentiator factor here. Can it be that the only difference is the distribution channel, if yes then for which country MPHS is for ? Both have cid7 tho
In the end It seems that the two builds : MPH and MPHS , are the same ! (From solely a cause study not a root-cause study)

Hi everybody know that rSAP is not working anymore with ICS on Samsung
phones!
I have today taken with the Samsung B2B contact (phone call 15 minutes), there were reasons why rSAP NOT was implemented in ICS. Samsung will eliminate these problems, and then will come an update WITH rSAP for ICS!
Cheers
Thank you very much for the info, do you know when will update ICS for working with RSAP?

They told me in an email yesterday
Thank you for contacting Samsung and I have pleasure in providing the following assistance.
In response to your query, please be advised that Google's Android 4.0 operating system does not support the rSAP bluetooth protocol. Google may choose to add this feature in a future update for his OS, however we do not have any further details at this time. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

So if they are actually working on a fix, so I do not need to pay (what seems a lot of money) for an app, that is good news. My issue is with google as it is clear that android does in fact NOT support it.
With Kies software, from Samsung

I don't have a Galaxy yet so i cannot check - waiting for Samsung to get RSAP fixed to get it
Please don't forget to post here when RSAP works with ice cream sandwich.
Thanks
ICS 4.0.4: rSAP ist working again!

So does anyone know if rSAP has been reimplemented in the new 4.0.4 ROMs?

And what about contacts, are they transferred correctly? I have a 2010 RNS 510.
I just got a Galaxy S3 and all works perfectly with my 2010 VW PREM
Can you read SMS and your contacts on your FIS display?
Enviado desde mi GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk 2
I'm not sure what is FIS, but I see SMS and contacts in the display in front of me behind the steering wheel, and in the RNS 510 I see the contacts only because my RNS 510 unit is from 2009-2010 and it does nos support SMS. I see all contacts from phone and sim without any problems!
Good job Samsung!
The only difference I noticed is all contacts must have a name - Before I had contacts with only Company name, not a personal name and they were imported with the company name, but now if they don't have a personal name they are imported without name, just the number.

Hello there
I recently acquired our beloved Idol 3, the 4.7" variant (aka 6039Y), and I couldn't help but noticing a rather disturbing fact :
=> Any information about the 6039Y model is diluted in general threads or buried inside the 6045Y threads ...
Would it be possible for everybody posting information/patches/docs/etc specific to the 6039Y model to post stuff in specific threads with a [6039Y] tag in the title somewhere ?
I believe this would make finding relevant information way easier for everyone
I still dream of unified methods/patches for both models, considering both devices shouldn't be that different, but that is up to the volunteers providing the software to decide.
What do you guys/gals think ?

The problem you are gonna have is that you 6039 users are kinda gonna have to run with the ball because your root method AND version of TWRP is totally different then the ones for the 6045 so you can't even follow our guides (for example your version doesn't offer the option to backup "System image" which included partition info). Since no one has done it I don't think anyone would have an issue if you started "how to root on the 6039" and "how to install twrp on the 6039"...notice I'm not identifying a letter because I don't know if the 4.7 model only comes as a 6039Y....the 6045 has 6045i (usa/canada), 6045Y(europe), and 6045K (Various other places). There is also a rumored 6045B.
Dose the 4'7" even have same specs as 5'5" normally the specs ain't the same in smaller version CPU and ram etc , ie s4 quad core 2GB and s4 mini dual core 1.5gb and have totally different root guides and methods , I believe both variants will get good support evench its a cracking device and support is slowly building

Different hardware. Different root method. Different version of TWRP. Different method of backing up system image. Basically the only thing that is the same is the fact they call both of them an "Idol 3".
Thought as much

Considering both phones are Qualcomm-based, I would assume they aren't THAT different after all ? (I AM new to Android development, so there must be something I'm missing for sure )
I mean, Android is based and Linux, and our chip is just yet another ARMv7 chip which the linux kernel supports pretty well, so what makes an ARMv7 chip different from any other ARMv7 chip ?
Do they optimize the kernel so far that they strip anything useless for each phone out of it, effectively rendering each kernel useless on any other phone ?
One last question : wouldn't building a generic ARMv7 kernel from this page be a good starting point ? (msm projet is for Qualcomm hardware) : https://source.android.com/source/building-kernels.html#figuring-out-which-kernel-to-build
Note that I might be daydreaming here and I don't fully realise what amount of works this implies.

You need to spend some time reading the existing threads such as the root thread etc where alot of this has been covered. http://forum.xda-developers.com/idol-3/help/root-ability-phone-t3116179
4.7" and 5.5" models have different hardware
The whole forum about Idol 3 is a big mess to me because most people do not realize that the Idol 3 comes in many different hardware configurations.
Indeed we should start stating comments in for at least 5.5 and 4.7 models. (GPU/3g/4g is different and what else) or for both if it applies.
Although this forum already implies it's about a 5.5 model according to the home page, there are many different hardware models discussed! We need active moderators when roms start roling to distinguish ourselfs from lemmings!
Maybe ask a mod to make a 4.7 model sub-forum.
Hi, there is any chance to add fingetprint support in apps like Lastpass or PayPal?
Inviato dal mio Nexus 5 utilizzando Tapatalk
I think it depends on the apps support and not on the phone support. For example number26 banking app seems to support fingerprints for zuk. So you should encourage the app developers to support zuk fingerprint scanner.
Ok, thank you!
What about use something that makes the device looks like another device to the app?
CM security, a popular antivirus offers the option to lock certain apps and you can unlock them by fingerprint. Not sure if that's what you are looking for but I hope it helps.
Since I got no OPO, I just want to spread the word, that OnePlus is now running with Canonical.
They´ve set up a ROM with Ubuntu and the Download is already available!
I´ll give you the Link to the Original OnePlus Forum Thread -here- !
You may also write down here how it works out for you.
Happy Flashing!
A couple of methods of flashing do wipe the entire drive out, including user data, but it looks like there are alternatives to that. I may give it a try after I back up my drive, and export it to the cloud.
It works well, except for the known not yet woking parts, like camera and something else (phone?) It's a shame it is pretty much useless as a mobile OS at this point, mainly because of the lack of good apps. I would like to see the project succeed, but if they don't get support from commercial apps it's going to die as others before ...

I will wait till the build is 100% ready
I've just talked to the Honor-Support Germany.
I've mentioned some things and the friendly staff-member gave me this information:
Known Problems they're working on currently:
Battery-Drain issue
Music-Player Control Support on Lockscreen for more players
I have also mentioned that the impossibility of extracting the system .apk's prevents improvements of some apps by the community, maybe they'll give us the chance to improve the Huawei apps by ourselves...
Things I've mentioned, which are not in work today ( 12th May 2016) but which will be forwarded to the corresponding department:
Port of Cyanogenmod to Honor 7 (they also wanted to know my E-Mail address to contact me if they'll begin to port)
I will continue the list so that we can have a summary about what Huawei/Honor is working on at the moment.
I you also had contact with the Honor support, post it here and I will add things to the list!
btw: I know they can tell you everthing and maybe they are not even working on that points, but come on guys! Because they have already helped the CM-team to port Cm to the Honor 4 they will maybe do it for the H7 as well
Sebster
I'd also spoken with honor Sweden regarding awake problem together with Google now.
These is their answer
We have escalated this on to our developers now we'll see if it found something at this there.
Regards Christian

Thanks for info. I am waiting for new update. I tried B300b rom but I did not like it so much. I hope new rom will be more stable.
And they still not released the MM OTA in Eastern Europe...
