Quite a few people complaining about poor signal strength. See some of the other posts on here.
USA version has apparently had an update that may have improved things. It may be we get something similar.

Ok. But i use this for my Business. You know i can Cross to the US Soft Version?

Don't think it is that straight forward. Different modems or something like that.

OK. Thank you for help. I think must wait for update or go back to my mate8...?

Bad signal reception seems to be a universal problem with the A2017G model

FWIW I flashed A2017U B29 on my A2017G B05 and noticed considerably better signal and call quality. When I had dropped sound and low volume in call in some places before, now it's pretty good.

Hey guys, so I successively tried a speedtest in 4G indoor on 3 phones on marshmallow (Honor 7, Axon 7 A2017G, OnePlus One), all with the same operator on the same servers. Here are the results: http:/ /imgur.com/JchlM7T (sorry I added a space in the url because I can't post outside link because I didn't post enough).
As you can see there is an issue with the axon 7 upload speed in 4G. I tried the exact same test on another server and got similar results. The firmware is B05 but it was as low with B02 before I made the update. Obviously I tried under different conditions (outside for instance, when the DL speed is 120Mbps, the UL speed hardly reach 10Mbps), but it stays slow.
Any hindsight?

Also, it might be defective. My earlier Axon 7 had bad signal and my intuition told me to get a replacement which I did, and that fixed all the signal issues.

Modem,baseband or radio only discussion.

I have seen quiet a few threads that include discussion of modems, firmware etc, for example the one, by Intratech which many of us are subscribed to, however, I just feel that most of these threads, don't focus, primarily on the modem, or radio, which to me, based on my limited experience of these phones, can make such a huge difference, in terms of battery life, and signal strength. So just wanted to share your views, if it's a good idea or not , to have a thread, that focuses on modem or radio only, since new modems, come out often. In my views, for instance, I have become resigned to the fact that the s3, struggles against the one x, in terms of good signal, as have had them side by side, same network. And I have also come to the conclusion that the LE8 modem, is the best at the moment, in terms of signal strength, so what are your views, I am using le8, on vodafone UK. If one such thread already exists, apologies and please direct me to it.
How do you measure signal strength .

The only problem with your idea is that different people have different results with different modems depending on their location and their carrier.

There's a bug with a lotta phones where signal strength API ain't working. I tried to use signal monitoring apps without success.
In dialer, type *#0011# and check RSSI/RSCP to see current signal strength.

Hey!
Good thinking with this thread. Coincidental timing too, as I was just looking into the same thing. In the past I've always gone with the latest firmware and never considered my locality!
I'm base in oxford, and am on three. LF2 gives me good speed but the ping and "lag" is high. I think LE8 is just more stable!
As for the HOX vs SG3 comment, I would beg to differ. My HOX had the worst signal out of any phone I've ever owned. Putting the same Three slim in my .sg3 in the same location would give me far better results
I just realise LF2 is unbranded in the UK. So in theory, shouldn't this be better than LE8?
LE8 could be for many countries likewise LF2 for many countries .
Modem not specific for many ..
UK SGS2 the last three UK modem was supposedly tuned better and gave better performance . A lot of the this modem is better posts are hit and miss anyway lacking definite measurements .
Plus modem builds do not always . update with firmware builds .

Does anyone have a problem with the mobile traffic consumption? I used up my hole volume in 3 days and I was connected via WiFi. Is there any bug with the WiFi because when I wasnt connected to WiFi the whole day I consumed only 7mb =/
And btw...my phone says I used just 10mb mobile traffic.
I flashed the rom clean not just a dirty flash.
Any hints?
PS: I hope you'll get the point and you understand my english =D

Samsung Apps on Lollipop ROMS
Anyone know how I can get Samsung Apps, i.e. Fit Manager/S Health, loaded back onto my phone now that I installed a Lollipop ROM? I am pretty sure it has to do with the Model in the build.prop file. It currently says klte. I tried revising it but when I did my phone wouldn't start. I really want to be able to use my Fit but none of the Samsung Apps are working. Any help would be much appreciated.

Loving the ROM. Great work!
Was rocking the Albinoman one, but that one had way too many issues. Dialer not working etc.
Yesterday I installed yours and it works like a charm!
Saw one little thingy, when entering a pincode at boot the numbers displayed on the dial-pad are in random order, changing on every boot. It's not bothering me at all. But it's the only thing I noticed that was wrong.
Maybe a bit of a noob question but, where can I find the changelog on github?
Loving the frequent updates, keep up the good work!
[12/8 build]
What's up with the new dark grey and green colour scheme?
White toasts and backgrounds were so much more .. Lollipop. And easy on the eyes.
At least make it a choice?
By the way. The Superuser menu is illegible because of the change in background colors.
Have found a bug . Seize the standart launcher and when I touch the screen under the wifi or mobile display comes spoke google search . I have the google search in launcher disabled. Can this be fixed ?

Running this on a G900V Dev edition... can't get a wireless signal. Data works great and fast, accessing Verizon 4G LTE network like a champ with 3-4 bars almost everywhere. But no phone and no SMS/MMS. Tried flashing ktoonz 5.0 kernel and that restored phone and SMS receiving, but still can't send SMS or MMS using any app other than Hangouts, which uses data network. Anyone else seeing this issue or have any input? Love this otherwise, but kinda need phone and SMS... TIA!!
with the newest build 09/12 i have no mic when i someone calling me. does anybody have the same problem?
Dec 9 build missing trusted agents functionality
Fusion rom has been working great for me for the last 10 days as my daily driver, but todays built, dec 9th, seems to have lost the trusted agents functionality where you can set a bluetooth device as a trusted agent so that when that bluetooth device is in range, you do not need to use an unlock pin or pattern to unlock you phone, and when that bluetooth device is out of range, you do have to enter your pin/pattern. I have an android wear watch and i was using this functionality and love it in lollipop.
The settings screen for trusted agents is still there but there is no way to add anything to that screen and it lost my previous trusted agents when i dirty flashed it from the Dec 8th build. Setting lives under settings->security->trusted agents
thanks,
Andy

[EU Users] Do you want a Camera 60fps Video Recording Option

So ive been asked by ZTE to setup a poll here to find out if EU users want this option for camera recording by the developers.
I was told by ZTE that the 60fps option did not bring a good effect to the phone and would be buggy so it was not put in whereas it was in the USA version.
After seeing if people want it, they may roll out an update to include it so lets get those votes in!
Just got news that 60fps is going to be added in!
How did you manage to contact someone at ZTE who's actually responsible for that stuff? The german Facebook page is utterly useless for anything but marketing. I'd love to get some info whether the bootloader unlock will be available in the EU, whether something will be done about the notification bell and if there are already plans regarding how long ZTE will support this phone with at least security patches..

I doubt anything can be done about the Notification Bell as it is part of their UI and it is up to ZTE heads themselves rather than the devs to get rid of it.
There are plans to support the phone with security patches in the EU as we have already got a B02 update and a B03 coming soon.

I fail to understand ZTEs update policy for EU. I was on b01 until I was able to find a A7 user in Germany, who was kind enough to post the b02 image on his Webserver for download. Why was this image not made available to ALL users via OTA?
How can I be sure, that b03 and future updates or sec.patches will be made available?
A selective approach for example per country doesn't make sense to me as the HW is the same all over Europe.

Sounds like you are wanting to seperate media volume and system volume, I believe there is a Magisk module that can take care of that.

Speed and UI Tweaks?

I recently dumped my Pixel 3 in a lake (kayak+puppy=bad) and needed a new phone. I spent about a week with a OnePlus7 and it was a great week. It was BY FAR the fastest phone I've ever held in my hand; stock or modified. But ultimately, I liked the size of the Pixel 3 and ended up with a Galaxy S10e.
I'm hoping to accomplish two main things. Speed up the phone and make it more "snappy" and simplify the amount of crap that Samsung has embedded into the device. For example, the Bixby key, can I make it do something else? I just feel like Samsung has the phone trying to do a million things in the background that aren't even remotely helpful. And yes, I disabled/uninstalled as much of the bloatware as I could.
I looked for a quality ROM but it doesn't look like anything is available to be honest.
To make the Bixby button useful use this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.bxactions
As for the Bloatware, if you don't want to root or use a custom rom and keep the phone as it is, use this to disable ANYTHING you want and can't disable through normal ways And buy the license, you have my word you wont regret doing so

CCSWE is great I have used that for a while now well worth buying licence for it so much can be done with it ..
Question....can I use that to disable things like the stock apps for email, calendar, and browser without harming those functions?? I'm prevented from doing so natively and wasn't sure if Samsung just doesn't allow it or if those apps actually include services that things like Gmail, GCalendar, and Chrome use to run.
Also, I'm not against rooting and using TWRP to install a custom ROM. Lord knows I've done plenty of that in the past (although it's been a few years now). That being said, I didn't see any ROMS that appeared to be worth a damn or were well supported. If I missed a good one please let me know!
Apps can all be hidden and disabled from the settings. No need to install anything else for it. As for the browser, I've been using Samsung internet on my phones for years (even when I had a Huawei P20 Pro) and it's better than Chrome imo, especially with adblocker and Amazon assistant to help with pesky ads and automatically finding prices on Amazon for items I an browsing on sites. Disabling/ hiding Samsung's calendar or email apps won't interfere with any other ones installed like gmail etc.

ALL apps can be hidden yes, but not ALL apps can be disabled.
something that i did which you might have done already if you've seen literally any youtube video on the topic is turning up the animation speed in the developer options. It really does make the phone feel faster.
