Hello guys, I have created this thread to discuss about the CM12.1 by @Moyster, so we don't flood the thread's ROM with useless messages regard our problem with the devices, and leaves that only for developer things
I hope to have done a good move by opening this thread. If there are some problems, if I done something wrong, sorry in advance.

I don't think it was really necessary but it's up to you
The rom thread is not a "dev-only" thread (or I would've restrained who can post, there's options for that at least) but most of the users are simply new or didn't read the rules, and therefore simply come in the thread and ask "what about this ?" when there's already 45 pages and a Search Feature, for example to find infos about the battery consumption.
If people don't take the time to understand that, it will forever continue, hence it's still better to keep the discussions on topic because I don't especially have time to read a dozen threads to have returns about my rom.
Regarding bug issues, recurrent problems and things like that, I already made it clear on the rom thread HOW TO SUBMIT BUG ISSUES, but obviously that's the same as my previous paragraphe
This thread would be way more useful if it was a summary of all tips and tricks for the device / rom, a clean formatted post that links to "how to volume speaker", "how to wipe", etc...
Greetings

Ok, I understand your opinion, but I haven't time to mantain a thread like the one you adviced. I created this thread to group all users so that they help with each other.
So, it's better if this thread is deleted and recreated the one you mentioned by someone.
And thank you for your work!
As I think this thread might be useful for those noobs on Android And thank you again for your hard work @Moyster
By the way, seems Audio FX has crashes some times on my device. And I may to tell you that the baseband for international version of m571 might be different from those in China, for we're using TD-SCDMA network for 3G on CMCC(China Mobile). Someone recently tested a MIUI8 rom on 4pda and met the problem on baseband. And what's this for? http://forum.xda-developers.com/t/meizu-m2-note
And it seems m2 note is the only Meizu device (except meizu m2 mini) which has truly unlocked bootloader. And if anyone needs factory firmware or original Flyme firmware for SP Flash Tool ,I can offer that.

You could try to replace the firmware files and if that works for you, make a flashable zip for other chinese users maybe ?

hello all,
so after several attemps to unbrick my Dopod 858 with no luck, my only oppertunity now would be to create a gold card. The thing that gets me is you cant do this unless you have a working WM....! If I did then I guess I would not need to unbrick my dopod and use that instead!!! I would really appreciate if anyone has a solution for me on how to create a gold card without a working WM. If not anyone in Germany near Hamburg who can help
I originally updated my Dopod through links on this website(Juststable v2), I followed all the instructions correctly and everything worked fine until my battery died !
Now only 4 colour screen ispl/spl 1.09.0001.
Anybody actuall thrown a dopod? if so how far?
Did you try to charge batt again to full and begin again the process ?
Then, try again to flash from SD card, it usually works.
1. Do not use HardSPL on the lower SPL's.
2. This is not the correct place to post this. This is the Development forum. This is not a development post. Moved.
3. There is another way. It requires Linux. Search for "Dream Goldcard". Just make sure you make a Herald goldcard when following the instructions.
Is this getting personal ?!!
I am trying for help but the second time my post is in the wrong place!!
if i read the heading correctly, the forum i originally posted is"Herald ROM development " with the sub info"This forum is only meant fro ROM issues and ROM development".
Therfore I guess I have a problem with installing my ROM hence I posted it there.
Moderators may be there to help and I fully understand that "old" members may rip out hairs finding things.
But ultimately we are all here to help each other, so Ivanmmj do please explain what my WM issue is or extend your forum explanations. it's not rocket science.
Thankyou

Don't take it the wrong way, it is not personal. The sub is a little misleading. It's meant to be to report issues within their particular ROM threads, not creating separate threads. I'm fully aware that we need an overhaul of the titles and descriptions. I'm working on that. (It's not something that Mods can change.) As it stands, the reason why it's so hard to search for answers is because no one ever posted things in the correct place, making it very hard to search in a particular area.
As far as you feeling that I didn't help you, I did help you. And when that didn't work, I told you what to search to make it work. The only other kind of help I could give you is to search FOR you. No one is going to have the links already ready to paste into this thread. Ultimately, the way a lot of questions get answered is by someone else doing the searching and answering the original poster.
Note: The main thread in XDA that showed you how to hardSPL warned you against using it on a phone that had an SPL lower than 4.0. Unfortunately, many of the threads that have appeared after (usually created by someone asking for directions) does not include this warning.
Thankyou
hello Ivanmmj,
thankyou for your response, its good to see we can all talk at the same level, I appreciate your honesty.
FYI I never doubted your help in any way or form. just a little frustrated with the thread movements, I am sure you can understand I have been trying for a solution quite a while now.
best regards
Hello everyone,
I've been an Android user for nearly a week now. Most of what I've learned was here at XDA. I'm very grateful.
The purpose of this post is to make a constructive criticism and help those who are are seeking information about rooting/flashing.
I have found that information in this forum is quite disorganized. It is there, but it's hard to find it. And sometimes to understand. The home page of XDA does have a FAQ, but it's quite poor. Often there are many discussions inside the same thread and it's hard to follow and to find the relevant part for you.
Here are some topics that I haven't really understood, even though I have searched for them (and in some cases asked) and which I believe are utterly important:
What is the difference between JPA, JPB and others? What is it different from the default firmware? What the characteristics?
What are the custom ROMs available? What are they characteristics?
How do I backup my default firmware?
Can I flash an European firmware into an American phone? If no, why? If yes, then why does it matter (and means) saying it's European?
Is ODIN the only way to flash a firmware? Couldn't we use ROM Manager, from Market?
What is Hard Reset/Factory Reset? Are they the same thing? How do I do it? Why/When should I do it?
What is OPS?
What exactly is the Quadrant Score? I've understood it's some kind of measurement on the phone's speed, but not much more...
These are just some of the questions I remember right now. There are probably others and also those which I have already figured out through digging up.
I think it would be easier if there were sticked threads detailing the procedures for rooting and flashing. With a FAQ in the first post. Take for example the Samsung Galaxy 3 GT-i5800: root, gps fix, upgrading thread that has (at time of writing) 3114 posts. It's too much to read to solve common doubts.
Please don't take this as a "lazy" posture of me. I think it would benefit everyone, those seeking answers and those who are tired of always hearing the same questions.
What do you think of doing a complete guide? I could help with my (limited) knowledge.
Apparently, I am not allowed to ask questions in the developer forum until I make ten posts in a non-developer forum. I am just a casual reader and I rarely feel the need to post. Anyways:
The ROM in the subject line is a JM* ROM and it is suggested that those ROMs are locked in some way. Ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=888071
Someone else asked the question that I want to ask: Is this ROM safe to use. Ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933028&page=5 reply 42.
The question is dated at least 4 days ago and there are no responses. Since the firmware bundle was released a month after the warning, is it safe to assume that the bootloader issue is taken care of? Is there a safer and just as smooth version that I could use instead?
I bought my Galaxy Tab used and some stuff is weird or missing (like the calculator app) so I want to do a clean install. The ROM referenced in the title appears to be the best that I could find so far. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I guess it does not matter now. I installed it. In case anyone is curious, I am not running across any major issues other than that the taskmanager widget no longer seems to be available. *sigh*

No need to answer such question since it is a cooked ROM; where; usually, such traps have to be removed.
It is based on P1000JPJM4 Middle East version that support Right-to-Left writing languages such as Arabic, Urdu & Persian...
This ROM is rooted so you can add/remove any app upon your usage
If you are not interested in Right-to-Left Language, I suggest you JMI based modaco or overcom versions; both are recently updated.
Awesome. Thank you for the answer. I am in Kuwait currently so even though I do not speak Arabic, it is possible that an Arabic person may need to use my device so I will stay with this ROM for now. I greatly appreciate your advice.

Oh. I just noticed. You are the one who cooked the ROM. Thank you. It works very well. I noted that someone said their camera app did not work but I tested mine and it works fine. I definitely appreciate your efforts. Rock on.
its working fine for me
I am using this rom and it works great for me and the task manager is there! maybe because i backed up all my apps and restored it after I flashed. I really love that it supports arabic. Even though i live in the US, I read arabic a lot and its really dumb that they don't have that in all the roms!
P.S. I posted things in the development page many times before and they never rejected my posts!! I never started a thread though I always reply with my questions or comments to threads, maybe thats why.
hey there paranoid team,
you have posted your rom on the oppo forum but it seems there are no installation instructions...can somebody please post...thank you

Why do you need installation instructions? It's the same as any other ROM. Custom recovery, factory reset, install ROM, install gapps. Reboot

because sir,
it reassures people who have never done it before....a small example...i am 43 years old and until feb of this year i had never used an android device, then one day my brother came over and gave me one and voila i was introduced to android and have never looked back..my point being...there are new people discovering android every single day...we are labeled....NOOBS...by the community...and for good reason,we know little if nothing about the devices we own...but as you....and maybe many people all over the globe were once also NOOBS you can understand that a friendly bit of info..like installation instructions...can go a very long way to helping people feel better about what they are doing...and save everyone who has to help them out,(when they maybe mess it up),wasting their time when i am sure they could/will have better things to do...capeesh...
There are tutorials EVERYWHERE. Xda, YouTube, blogs. This is not ROM specific. Why do we need to rehash the same things that are already published out there? Use the info that is already there. No need for us to rewrite it. Flashing Roms requires learning the lingo, the proper tools, and the willingness to learn how to recover from failure. This website contains more knowledge than you can imagine on these things. The onus is on you to learn what others have already provided.

Questions before buy Oppo 7
Hi
I love the paranoid rom, thanks a lot!!!
I have figured out that many questions is answered in change log, but as a not so experienced user i hope the community will answer me in this thread, by prose or by links, thanks!
Before i buy oppo 7 i like to ask a few questions.
- is headset play, paus, skip volume etc part of PA rom; when the screen is on, and off?
- support PA install apps on sd card, or can it move apps to sd card?
- what steps is recommended before i root and before i change rom to PA? Do i need to take some backup of important info? This question is due to possibility to restore phone to "original"

Hello!
It's Briefin here, [okay first a quick background of mine: I'm very familiar with Custom Roms/Recovery/Rooting/Kernel etc. And have been doing it since a long time. Never got any significant issue to write on XDA. So it's my first thread. ] Okay now the issue is I recently flashed the EFS Partition of an another device (A TWRP backup file). The device from where I got the backup file was of the same model as mine of course. So it should be okay I thought. But after that, my phone's network signal stopped working. Tried everything available on the web but nothing worked. My whole IMEI is just messed up. It's showing 0(Zero). So my question is, is there any way that I can rewrite my IMEI?
Device name: Asus Max Pro M2 (X01BD)
(I know this forum is for Asus Max Pro M1, but I'm completely helpless you know. That original forum for M2 Pro seems like dead. No one answers so I had to)
Sorry and Thanks!
