Sm-a500g -- unable to copy some apk files to system partition - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

On a rooted phone, when i try to copy specific apk files to system partition, app or priv-app, it fails with error "copy failed" in root explorer, some other explorer states insufficient space, etc.
Does anyone know why this is happening and why the ROM is blocking the copy? Is there mechanism that is blocking the copy or move? Is there a way to copy it.
Strangely even recovery flashing though successful truncates the file, for e.g. a 14mb file shows up as 13mb and is corrupt and of no use.
Also tried skipping signature check by modding services.jar but no luck. ...inputs would be greatly appreciated

3g mobile hotspot file and location

where is the 3gmobile hotspot file located in a rom? and what is the name of the file? I deleted the file and now I want to restore it lol.
It's called mynet.apk and it is found in /system/app.
OK found a copy of the file after I unzipped the rom, but it gives a "failed to install" error...
would be nice if that was a bit more informative... anyone know how I might get this back on my phone?

OTA Update location A501

I have an A501 with 3.01 (Acer_A501_1.037.03_PA_ATT) The OTA update downloaded but I did not install it yet as I don't want to lose root. I can't find the update but I would like to back up the file if possible. I tried doing a file search but with one of the file manager apps but it got into a loop on a recursive symlink.
Some questions:
1. Where do I find the update (it is not in the cache directory)
2. Is there a good file explorer that can deal with recursion
- or do I have a corrupt file system?
Here's an example:
/sys/dev/block/7:0/bdi/subsystem/7:0/subsystem/7:0/subsystem/7:0/subsystem etc
Found It
Just in case you didnt find it, I used root explorer and it was in the cache folder long numbers.zip
There is a process to use it to update your tab.. I however forgot all of the steps..
i know you have to decrypt it. pull the update.zip out remove the boot loader.blob file.. This is not intended to be instructions just a guide as to what you can look for to find the information to do so .
Sorry i could not find the tread explaining this..

[Q] Help with JOP40D Files

I did a n00b move and integrated the Music2.apk into my system files and now the 4.2.2 upgrade keeps crashing because the checksum fails. I found the files but when I try to put them back into the /system/apps directory, the date changes so the checksum keeps failing.
Is it possible to take the files from a titanium backup or something to restore. My original backup is corrupted so I can't get the file from there.

[Q] File Manager not working

I don't know if it's just me or not. When trying to copy a custom bootanimation.zip to system/media after upgrading to cyanogenmod 10.2, file manager asks to confirm the overwrite, and after clicking overwrite I get an error, "The file or folder was not found." After the error I try going back to storage/emulated and file manager doesn't show anything below emulated. I have to restart the app to see the files and folders below emulated. I am sure the file structure is okay because I can connect it to my pc and browse and manage the files.

Latest root method in Android 4.3 no longer work on /storage/emulated/0/, try use /storage/emulated/legacy to copy your file.
You get used to doing something one way ...

Thanks, that did it.

Invalid file

Hi
I have an annoying problem with a file I can't delete. When I do any operation in TWRP I get this error :
E:error opening '/data/property////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////E:error: Too many open files
It seems to be a file that is linked to its parent folder. I have tried deleting it with various root file explorers and with TWRP file explorer.
Anyone have an easy way to delete the file? I read about a utility called "fsck" but I'm not sure it will fix this invalid file.
Thanks
