Huawei support can't destroy your nfc. If you didn't drop or damage your phone somehow, it should be fine. Give it a simple reboot or make a factory reset

oh sure they can !
the NFC sensor is still alive, but the antenna is a sticker on the battery inside.
The contacts to this sticker are broken. (with opening the above 9 screws).
thanks,

WiFi antenna pin broken

Hello guys.
A few days ago, mi nexus 7 didn´t power up, tried pressing power and vol down for more than 30 seconds, nothing.
The screen turned on from time to time, but all i can see was some static.
After gathering some courage and reading a bit on the internet, i opened it and there it was, the battery plug was in an angle, doing a false contact.
I don´t know how that happened, it was working normally before, i didnt drop it, hit it, nothing.
Ok, then i push the plug and it fit, but mi finger slipped and broke one of the wifi antenna pin connector, it seems they are pretty weak...
I closed the tablet and it power up and works almost perfect, now the wifi signal sucks a lot, most of the time it can´t connect unless i´m really close to the modem/router.
What can i do? i still have the broken pin, can i solder it? or use something else to make the contact? return it to Asus for a fix? and i guess they will charge me.
Also i opened it again today, to take a picture, and i saw that the power plug again is slipping outside of his socket, i think there is a flaw in the design if the plug can´t keep is place...
Well, thanks in advance!!!

You can solder a wire from the broken pin directly to the WiFi antenna
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
And for the battery plug, electrical tape is your friend.

Thanks for the answers.
And... what about of the solder? i don´t know if it have the properties to transmit the wifi signal, maybe i put a wire or the pin back with solder, but if the solder doesn´t transmit the wifi signal i´m still screwed...
Sorry about my bad english, i tried my best, in spanish i could have explained it better....
Thanks!!

I've had the exact same accident, well except that i broke not one but TWO pins. So basically all should i do is solder them back just like that?
About the battery connector. Mine has a black tape over the connector. It's glued from the red yellow and black cables up to the motherboard socket where the pin connects. It may be a new revision because it's one of the latests

this happened to me aswell when I took it to my local repair store they said they couldn't solder it, if I had the tools I would have a go. Any ideas as to where else I could take it to get soldered. Thanks. Also I have another nexus 7 with which I have tried all the tricks ie: hold power on, check battery etc but still nothing absolutely nothing won't turn on or show any signs of life

As a nervous amateur I would like to see this being done, what degree of heat and what size of solder wire etc are there any video footage available anywhere.
I fixed mine
actually mine also got broken ....
soldering didnt seem a good option for me
so i took one of the gold plated contact pins used for holding the sim card from an old phone and improvised ...
(you can use any of the gold plated contact pins found in old mobiles)
photos attached ...
i held it in place by insulation tape and some rubber stickers so that it wont move away ....
antenna works fine now ... full signal strength
the main thing here is to get the same material for fixing the antenna
different material would result in poor signal

Did you find more information about the GPS?
maybe you should check GPS antenna contaco on the top left corner (viewing the phone with screen down) put it off the back cover and see if the pins are making contact with the antenna on the back cover or not

Yep..
After the screen replacement somehow the anthena of the GPS , wasn't fully connected to the motherboard, so I had to make soldering between them.
That's all.

Add NFC to our european phones

Hi friends,
I've been thinking about if could be possible add nfc to our european models.
I tried to find chinese al10 rear case as repair piece so we might be able to convect to our phones (I dont know is our phone just dont have thr nfc label or also dont have nfc controller).
It might be possible to add other phones "labels" in this phone.
Other point is software, it might not have the drivers we could need ot we would need to flash the chinese rom...
So many wonders, my knowledge is so limited, but for me, thinking in payments, is the only thing I see to have my perfect phone.
Warm regards,
Nothing new?
I was thinking about the same thing for a few days but couldn't find anything, no help from others?
Does anybody know where the nfc antenna is actually located in the chinese version?
Thanks
I am chinese, I have a chinese version with nfc.
It almost useless because honor 7 nfc is on screen side .....
That's meam you put the some nfc tag on your phone , you can not touch you screen....
Nfc under the screen.... And in eu no nfc.... But but WHY!? ?
Because the Europeans are very, very, fussy and didn’t tolerate that! -->

IMHO, I just focus about payments capabilities, juat because of that i would like to add nfc.
I havent use that function yet in any phone, but android MM enables figerprint api, and so our phone fingerprint sensor is located in the backside, it could make sense if the nfc is located on the screen so at the time you approach the phone, you can scab your fingerprint
Maybe someone that knows how thar kind of payments works can bring feedback.
Regards

@chestermax ...where specifically on the screenside is the NFC antenna located? upper-left, lower-right, middle? Or having any references available to documentation where it's NFC location is drawn up?

Attached is a picture of NFC location. As is it obvious also from picture the NFC could be used only from front (screen) side of the phone. The back of the phone is metal and any antenna from that side is blocked. Therefore all other antennas (gsm, lte, gps, wifi) are placed on the top and bottom of device, where plastic edges replace the metal cover.

Oneplus 5 not detecting NFC tags

I bought these NFC tags from amazon http://www.amazon.in/LINQS-NTAG216-Stickers-Waterproof-Compatible/dp/B01DUG1FX6. My OP5 doesn't seem to detect them. I used trigger and NFC tools app from the playstore but none of them worked. Any suggestions?
Are you matching the tags to the correct spot on the phone? Try holding then up to the camera lense.

try asking in Q&A forum
Maybe you did this already but maybe you may have missed it. My phone came with NFC turned off. Check on wireless and network settings where it says more and check if NFC is on.

I almost completely forgot that the nfc antenna lies above the lens.

Yes. Because nfc only works through glass.

I've a S8 and I have no network. I've tried with several simcard.
I've checked on Internet with my IMEI number and my S8 is clean.
I've bought it with the screen broken and i've changed the screen. I've checked that all connector are good...
Anyone has an idea?
Thanks

Make sure all the screws ar eback in and the antenna connectors are not broke and are in the correct places. I bought one did the same thing
Thanks, I've done it twice. I've seen that the white antenna wire was compressed and the plastic was cut making a contact with the frame. I put a sticker on it but it didn't change anything.

They're not swapped are they. Maybe the wire or connector is damaged
I had a note 5 that was like that the connector got damaged
You could try software and flash a carrier csc. We had issues with modem crashes and that's what would solve it
I will tear it down tomorrow to triple check everything.
Thanks
