Am I able to root 6.0.1? - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgraded to an S7, but I have some apps I want to test on my old S5 that require root.
Build number ends in: DPD1
I've never rooted before. If its possible can someone point me to an easy to read guide?

If you downgrade to PB1 lollipop you can root. If your Cid starts with 15 you can unlock your boot loader if your Cid starts with 11 you can only gain root going back to PB1 and root

Hello my friend cid starts with 11 what I can do really I am a little confused when you say that we can do root cid 11 without unlocking the boot loader that means that we could not install other rom? but if you can optener root that it would be important to me

If your Cid starts with 15 you can unlock your boot loader and root marshmallow
And flash custom roms. But if your Cid starts with 11 you won't be able to root marshmallow you can downgrade to BPB1 and gain root

[Q] How to root 4.2.2 AMF3

Hi im new to the ATT galaxy s4 world and my friend wanted me to root his phone for him and install kit kat, but i have a tmobile s4 and mine was extremely easier to root and mess with without any problems. But i really dont want to screw over his phone because i dont really understand the what Loki kernal or patches are and i guess i need to do them to flash roms? Could someone help me step by step on achieving root and custom recovery?
First things first. What firmware is the phone on? That will determine how your going to root and if u have to use safestrap because the bootloaders locked on the latest ota

Uggh. Unfortunately your bootloader is locked. Your going to have to use the safestrap method and I havent looked into it bcuz I rooted before mf3 came out. The roms you can flash is also limited.. ill grab you a few links to get you on track

I locked it but was unable to install the system image and then had to do something like factory mode to unlock the bootloader again and flash the system image
When I locked the bootloader it failed to validate my system image

If he's on OC4, then he can Odin back to NCG and root from there and flash any VZW S5 TouchWiz ROM that he'd like. Following the OP's instructions of course. I got this S5 on the OC4 version and haven't "officially" updated to newer versions yet. Just update the proper "flashable" firmware as needed for the ROM I'm running
I'm not sure but the new root method that JrKrsue has developed is for one's that are on OE1 and up. Due to those were the one's that were unable to gain root. I could be wrong but if you're on OD5 and below, you can get root by Odin back to NCG. Please feel free to chime in if I'm wrong or mistaken
I have used jrkruse method to root Boc4 also there are two different methods now for rooting as I will never go beyond bod5 on the bootloader so I will always have the choice to go back to 100% kit kat witch includes kit kat bootloader

SBF, S-OFF & root question any help apprechiated

Been reading and cant find a definitive answer so any help would be awesome.
I have a Verizon RAZR M 4.4.2 183.46.15, I have S-Off through Sunshine, rooted and TWRP installed. Somewhere through the process I lost all back ups and even stock images. I have tried several ROMS and none will get bast the boot loader screen. What I am wanting to try is an SBF back to 183.46.15 stock and go from there.
If I do this and SBF back to stock will I loose S-Off and have to spend $25. more to regain S-Off or is S-Off permanent? Or should I SBF to an older version? Links to SBF files are also welcome
Thanks in advance for an info.

Everything is working again after flashing a recovery with RSD. However i'e tried several custom roms and all of them never get past the boot loader screen. CM 12.1, Bliss pop and Dirty Unicorn, I'm really not picky just looking for a stable ROM.
RAZR M - Unlocked - Rooted 4.4.2 - 183.46.15 - TWRP v2.8.5.0 installed.

Samsung Galaxy S5 (VZW Cid 11) are there anyways of having root access or a rom?

Sorry if I am an "idiot" for this topic but is it possible to make a custom rom bootable on a locked bootload (cid 11) and flashing custom recovery?
I mean on my LG-D605 it had and still has a locked bootloaded but by "loki-fying" the boot.img it was able to boot into custom rom and it was able to boot on custom recovery
============================================================================================================================================
Are there anyways of having root access on stock firmware?

Is there a way to flash stock roms that are completely debloated? :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:
Anyway thanks in advance for your help!! :highfive: :highfive:
