Hello guys,
have you got any news regarding the adoption of knox 2.7 and personal folder on s7 edge as in note 7?
Actually Knox 2.6 has similar features but knox app list is visible and it could be seen in RAM usage as well.
Are there any news with nougat update? Is "personal folder" arrived on s7? I read that Knox 2.7 will arrive on s7 with nougat update.
i dont think so since its not implemented yet in the beta. But who knows maybe they will include this in next build...
Knox 2.7.1 is here, personal folder isnt, for now, in the future? Maybe
it's one of the best feature of note 7. Where can I ask for adding that on s7? It would be great!

I have just ordered an S5 (G900H model) in India. Got it at less than half its original price from Flipkart. I decided to go with S5 for its SD card support and replaceable battery both of which I hugely enjoyed in my old S2. I know the support for Exynos based S5 is quite limited here. But, unfortunately, this is the only model we get here in India. I got couple of questions.
1) Can my Indian friends tell me if rooting voids warranty for S5 in India? I just like to gain root and remain stock only to be able to use AdAway, TiBu, and debloating some Samsung junk unless I am able to see a very stable stock custom ROM here (still searching)
2) Does rooting trip Knox as in S6? If I unroot and flash the stock firmware will the service center people have any ways of knowing I had rooted it ever?
3) What is the experience of those who upgraded to lollipop in terms of both stability and battery use? Is it really worth it or should I just wait for 5.1.1 upgrades (if at all that is coming) or M?
Thank you.
What to do? Root or not? S7 edge sm935f unlocked uk btu. Tell the true is the best phone ever... i had s6 edge , s6 , s5 s4 note4 all of them i used root and flash custom roms. Whit the s7 edge black onyx is verry diff. Its like i whant to keep the phone virgin...
Hi.
Not a very useful title for a thread. Most everyone needs help or help in having a question answered...
And also your question isn't something to be answered clearly...
You could root your device. If you need it is your decision. Do you see clear benefits in it? Are you aware, that there is no way to do it without tripping knox atm?
Do you have a device with an exynos processor in the first place? If it is a snapdragon you could forget the whole idea of rooting at this point, because there is no way to root it atm.
ah.. okay. must have missed the device model type.. yes, you can root. you have the exynos...
hey guys i have a galaxy s7 edge exynos version .I recently rooted it and then unrooted it and installed official rom .After unrooting i didnt get any updates at all.So do i have root back and install a custom rom or is there is any way that i can install the nougat update.

Verizon hasn't released Android 7 to the S7/S7 Edge yet.
There hasn't been any official word from Verizon on when they plan on releasing Android 7, but search for any information about it, a lot of different sites seem to think it's going to be sometime in March.
As for the root / unroot question, if KNOX was tripped during the rooting process, you may not be able to install the OTA update.
You might be able too using different software, which you should be able to find by searching the forum.
A handy tool to check of the CSC and KNOX were tripped or now, install the.

If it comes back saying Warranty Valid, then you should be able to install 7 no problem.
If it comes back saying Warranty Invalid, then you will probably need to wait until it's available for manual download.

That's great. The 935t is T-mobile. We have the 935v, which is Verizon. Which is what he was asking about.

Greetings,
I would like to ask some help, i have s7 edge G935FD 8.0 GLB. unrooted.
for samsung health error: can't be opened on a rooted device.
for samsung pay: your device has been rooted. samsung pass cannot be used on rooted devices for security reasons.
and there's a way to reset knox?
i've noticed in official custom room its custom. but when i checked in settings the "it's official firmware"
Thanks!
I just bought a T580 and seeing all the available roms for that devices (especially those enabling the 64bit part of the CPU) I am wondering what exactly are the consequences of tripping the knox counter.
For my Galaxy S8 I know that some Samsung apps will cry about the fuse being burnt but in a Galaxy Tab?
I have never used secure folder or something.
Is there anything other to look after while flashing these devices (apart from warranty issues)?
Regards,
Martin

For some odd reason I didn't even trip Knox on my tablet, at least it isn't *****ing about it. Last time I did was on my S4 a few years ago and I'd see it every time the damn thing booted (I think?).
Someone told me these tablets don't even have working Knox? No idea, but I haven't seen any indication of it having been tripped, despite having TWRP installed and being rooted on a custom rom.
I don't use any Samsung apps either though and custom roms don't tend to care about anything Knox
So unless you HAVE to use Samsung apps I think you'll be fine :good:
