Give me your best tip for a speedy, yet pretty stable, kernel for i9505 on CM13 (android 6.0.1)?
/z
I950x doesn't help much.
You want people to tell you the kernels for pretty much every S4 model out there?
I9505. Updated OP too.

The only custom kernel (that is still being updated) available for the GT-I9505 is alucard kernel.
But it is available only with JDCTeam ROMs, no flashable zip available.
No zip, that sucks. I really need a kernel alternative for CM13, too.

Anyone know the dev(s) of Alucard or JDCteam who can maybe make a flashable zip of it? Would be great!
Really need a quick kern with fastcharge etc. etc.

None of them will. It was alucard's decision to not publicly distribute his kernel anymore.
On the JDC thread it mentions the kernel, but it's listed as "stock". Is that wrong? I assume that means stock cm13 kernel.
Just installed the latest JDC Marshmallow rom, it's great. Everything works well. No OTG issues at all.

New user of s5 here. Just flashed a aosp 5.0 rom.however the battery doesnt seem to be very good compared to my last phone nxs5 with code blue kernel. Not to mention the performance was awesome!
I was hoping i could be directed towards some compatible kernels with lollipop ( tw or aosp). Thanks.

No apparently there is not yet. This is because all of the 5.0 Touchwiz rom releases are only leaks. Which means there is no kernel source code out for ktoonsez to modify.

oh.ok. thanks again
Meanwhile there are Kernel for TW made by Ktoonsez.
In my mind, the latest beta Kernel works best (01/16)

When I switched to CM 12.1 my first thought was also about flashing Boeffla kernel.
But I decided to try native CM kernel for a few days and surprisingly I was not disappointed
Nice, fast kernel, battery friendly.
So there is no need for me to flash Boeffla on CM 12.1
Boeffla kernel is not compatible with CM and he won't make a Kernel for CM until there is an official CM rom

Thanks for the info! can you tell me will AK kernel work in cm12.1?
Hi Chetan, just wondering which version of CM you are using, and how you find it (in particular photo quality). I'm very tempted to flash it myself, but have just started using Boeffla Kernel with OOS, so wish to give that a bit of a go...

No problem bro! Can you tell me which Custom rom and Kernel you using in your OP2?? :silly:
Since development of AK has ceased, don't expect the last version of AK to work with "never" builds of CM12.1 though.

Why do you think you need to tweak it?
It works great out of the box
I just edited system/etc/thermal-engine.conf to reduce thermal throttling in Real Racing 3

Is there any kernel for Android 6.0.1 on Nexus 7 2012?
Yes, every 6.x ROM provides a kernel, too, or what are you looking for? If you are looking for sources, you might want to have a look at my Github.

I am looking for kernel that enables overclocking. I searched forum but there are only kernels for Lollipop, not Marshmallow.
Probably you would like to have a look on Daniel_hk's kernel for Omni ROM. If I got it right, he implemented some overclocking into it, but I did not test it.

So just flash OmniROM for 6.0.1? And the kernel is included? Or is there a separate file for kernel that must be flashed?
His Omni-build should include the OC-kernel directly.
Looking for a kernel on Nexus 7 2012 (3G) to fix baseband_XMM_power wakelock
@williamlaw: my kernel has the patch included. Most likely I'll upload a fastboot flashable zip today or tomorrow onto my Android 6 AOSP on Grouper thread.

Thanks for your work but i am using 3G version.
First I want to say I didn't build this rom, or have anything to do with Mokee Open Source. Any bug reports or feature requests should be directed to Mokee developers.
I only started this thread to provide a link to the roms, as they are not available on xda until now, and a lot of users may not be aware they are still around.
Personally I have found this rom to be very stable, with some nice features.

Recommended Gapps
Open Gapps
Warning(particularly for MM builds): If you try to flash gapps, you will probably find it won't fit on the stock /system partition. In this case you will need to repatition - Repartitioning guide.
Make sure you choose a pit file that increases /system and not just /data(eg, I91001GB_4GB.pit)
Alternatively use Lanchon's re-pitting tool if you want to avoid losing your data
If you want to donate to Mokee and make their life a bit easier(donations will go towards bandwidth etc),
you can donate HERE
Instructions
1. Wipe data/factory reset(from KK compatible recovery)
2. Format /system
3. Flash rom
4. Flash gapps(optional)
5. Flash isorec recovery(for MM, see below), you only need to do this once
6. Reboot

Note: Now that Marshmallow(6.x.x) has been released, a warning for anyone flashing these latest nightlies. The kernel(isorec CM kernel) comes bundled with CM recovery, which is more or less useless. If you want a working recovery, you will need to flash the rom, followed by gapps(if you want play store), followed by an isorec recovery from HERE
Be sure to flash either CWM or TWRP for i9100. It is obvious from the name of the file.
And read about Isorec if you are not sure.
Thank you to @Troubadour666 for the Youtube review
Thank you @noppy22 for starting this thread. I had been downloading the ROM from G+ but the added benefit of a thread here on xda means that you have fellow S2 users to discuss problems etc with. Thank you again mate.
downloading....

@noppy22 Have you run Mokee using Lanchons iso-Rec kernel and arnabs Twrp recovery? If so, how did it run?

I've only run it with stock kernel. The only thing I changed(with Kernel Audiutor) was i/o scheduler to row. I suspect any cm12.1 compatible kernel will work. I might give one of Lanchons trim kernels a go in the next day or so
Edit: I tried the last trim/twrp kernel and got bootloop on 160102 build....

Thanks for getting back to me.

OK, I tried the latest build(12/01) with DragonKernel(30/11), and got to optimizing apps, then bootloop. So, stock kernel seems the only option for now...

Well, no. The reports of freezing with his last release stopped me from trying that. BTW the GeneSys kernel(.tar) that was released is the same as the kernel in DU 9.8, but for me the DragonKernel I tried is the last "AOSP" kernel I found to be stable

It's basically Cyanogen 12.1 with a couple of extra features like wakelock blocker. My own opinion, I think it is a lot smoother than stock Cyanogen.
To correct my earlier post. I reflashed the Rom and flashed xposed during the flash process and it flashed without any problems.

Hi,
I am running AOKP(MM) on my klte and flashed boeffla kernel to test it. I wasn't really happy with it and so I decided to look around for alternatives but I couldn't find any. Are there really no MM kernel for custom ROMs for the klte phone other than "stock" CM and boeffla?
