Hi, im selling my S5 so wanted to unroot it and put the stock Rom back on it.
So using Odin 3.12 I have put the phone into download mode, added the .tar file to the AP part of Odin and hit start. I get a pass and the phone reboots, then states it is sorting out the App's, then it reboots again and just sits on the Samsung screen.
Can anyone help me? I've obviously gone wrong some where.
Opened Odin as Admin, think that may have been the issue as all working fine now, or 3rd time a treat, whop knows!!

Hello, my SM-G935A is rooted, and I have 2 issues with it. Firstly, I'm unable to receive texts or phone calls (I can send them), and I've tried a factory reset and I even got a new SIM, but nothing worked. I think if I flash stock firmware, it might fix the issue. Second problem, when I go into download mode and select my AP in Odin and press start, my phone gets an error and Odin freezes at Initialization.
Any help would be appreciated. I would prefer to fix the texting issue, as I don't want to return the phone to ATT. In either case, the Odin issue needs to be fixed
I'm having a similar issue. This afternoon, 2 apps threw errors and closed. I rebooted, which apparently was the wrong thing to do. The reboot stalled on the AT&T logo and stayed that way for 5 min - the unit became very hot & the power button did not respond, even while holding it down. I got into recovery, cleared the cache and factory reset, then rebooted. The unit came back up and started reinstalling everything. I took it back down into the download status and attempted to reload 935x via Odin, only to stall at "initialzation" [sic] as you did. I got out of that after waiting for some sort of response. SuperSU was still in my apps as was Root Checker. Root Checker indicates the system is rooted. SuperSU indicates it needs the binary updated. BusyBox and TiBu indicate they cannot find root. I deleted all the root apps and tried reinstalling root via adb which completed successfully, but the same outcome with all the root apps. So I'm not sure if I'm still really rooted as Root Checker claims, or not.
EDIT: I just saw that I have 2 "Knox Settings" apps. Clicking on either returns, "Unfortunately, Container Agent2 has stopped."
use the odin from the stock firmware thread to flash it again. if it fails you can flash the u firmware and then the stock again. then you have to use a different odin if you want to flash the root api file the one you flash the firmware with wont work. also there is help in one of the threads about fixing the volte problem so you dont have to turn it off to get calls. i didnt have to do it as using the odin i mentioned fixed it for me when i came from the u firmware.

I was having the exact same problem you had with Odin. It seemed I was able to flash stock firmware using this version of Odin: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2t2sjqxtogbkafk/odin_3.12.3.rar

did you have any problems with the u version of the s7 edge firmware, like the fingerprint scanner not responding? i am on that version and cant get any odin version or any version of s7 edge g935a firmware to flash, tried unrooting and was forced to use the U version of the s7 edge firmware, everything works except the fingerprint scanner, cant get back to full stock firmware, need help!
im having the exact same problem, when i put my phone into download mode and flash the stock at&t firmware, Odin get stuck in "initialization" and my phone screen displays and error message.
Same stuff was happening to me, I went back to stock and took the update. When your phone stops working as an actual phone, it's time to roll it back.
I played with it for a week and my phone was so freaking hot (with hot weather) equals a wait and see if this gets more stable in the near future. I did use the Odin 3.12.3 mentioned by King James III. Honestly, I did so many things to get it back to stock I forget what actually worked (it was the wee hours of the morning and I was spent). Don't give up guys, it will and can work.
edit: It may be as simple as not right clicking Odin and running it as Administrator.

I used Odin_v3.12.3_Patched_SHA256 to flash the 935U Firmware then used Odin3_v3.11.2 to flash the June Firmware release.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, I thought I was smart enough to try and root the phone but I was wrong. Now it is in a bootloop. I have tried everything...I did a factory reset, flashed, cleared the cache partition, I have used Kies3, Smart Switch, ADB server, Odin , I tried it all and now I am just needing help if anyone can help me.
I tried to go back to Kies3 but it keeps rejecting my serialnumber for some reason, I even went back to the recovery log in the recovery console to make sure the serial number was right. I also thought maybe I flashed the wrong firmware with Odin? I am not sure I got the right one because I amnot sure what PDA means on the download site, so I am just lost now. The only thing it does is a bootloop and I can get to recovery console, and the bootloader.
If anyone can help I would so appreciate it.

If you have Bootloader it can be fixed. Download the firmware from sammobile and put the files in the spot it says it is. PDA file will go to PDA etc.
Edit. Sorry forgot that PDA is the old Odin. Download the newer version v3.12 and put the AP files in the AP slot and the same with the CP file and CSC. You might wanna try leaving the BL file out as when I did mine it would only work if I didn't add BL.
I had quite the same thing. I rooted my S7 Edge abd installed Lineage, but I was not satisfied of it, so I decided to come back to stock ROM. This was impossible : flash with Odin, with TWRP, etc... All came to a bootloop or freeze when the phone booted.
And yesterday, after a new attempt, the phone booted and now, it works very well. I don't really understand what changed or what I did more, but it seems that your phone is not bricked. Try another Odin flash with forcing CSC maybe.
I have an SAMSUNG s8 SM-G950F which I purchased threw Amazon as new from Italy, I live in the UK.
I decided to try rooting it Following these steps
1st of all I tried using Odin3.V3.10.6 and using CF-Auto-Root-dreamlte-dreamltexx-smg950f.tar.md5
Al this seemed to do was factory reset my phone it still worked fine but was not rooted.
so I tried the method below, from that site, wont let me post links so took the . out
galaxys8root com galaxy-s8-root how-to-root-galaxy-s8-or-s8-plus-exynos
When it game time to to do the 2nd key combination (step11) for the twrp, to load the boot loader i missed it, and my phone was stuck, at boot screen and would do nothing, i tired to use Odin to write the file again it never happened.
I did some more goggling saw that web site is out of date and there was a new version of twrp, downloaded twrp-3.2.1-0-dreamlte.img.tar and tried using odin to flash that, still was not having it, still stuck at the screen. Figured out how to get my phone back into usb upload mode and tried again, and then i kept getting the message that their was no P part partition and it failed.
Tried this a few times did some more goggling, saw the thing about doing it letting it fail, reboot the phone and do it straight away this did not work with the twrp-3.2.1-0-dreamlte.img.tar, but did work with CF-Auto-Root-dreamlte-dreamltexx-smg950f.tar.md5 file.
This let my phone boot again, and was rooted, but this caused me issues with running apps and I saw there was no way to hide the cf auto root so decided to just reset my phone.
This worked but now my phone fails the Safety test and i can not use apps that need it....
So was wondering if any one could advise me what my best course of action is, can i put my phone back to stock some how so it will pass the saftynet again or do I need to try the twrp so i can use magika and hide the fact its rooted?
Thanks in advance, included some screen shots from the software screen in case it helps..
Hello, all!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A). I originally used the PrinceComsy post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/root-s7-att-g930a-g935a-t3410538) to root my S7. This was back about 6 months ago. I ended up using an iPhone (for change of pace) and came across my S7 again and wanted to go back. It was working at the time, no problem. Since then, however, I must have done something within Odin to break it as now it is stuck at the Samsung logo boot screen with the "custom"/unlocked padlock icon on it. I cannot boot to recovery mode as when I do, it simply flashes "recovery booting..." indefinitely.
I think I need help to get this thing working again. I don't necessarily care if it has to get wiped. That said, I am willing to do what I need to do in order to get this damned thing fixed. I have tried flashing a few different G930A firmwares, but Odin either just says "failed" or "model dismatch." I have no idea what to do and all the threads I've read so far seem to be different than what I am going through.
Any ideas? Anything is much appreciated. Take care!
As it would turn out, the only firmware that I got to actually successfully flash to the S7 was the SM-930U firmware. I can now get into recovery mode and I can at least get passed the initial logon logo. When I start the phone, it takes me to the setup as if it is a new phone, however, after a certain amount of time, the phone will randomly reboot. Hmmm... going to continue to tinker with it.
Here is how I fixed my issue:
1. Downloaded and flashed the SM-G930U firmware using Odin3 v3.12 to my SM-G930A S7. This fixed the issue with not being able to get into Recovery Mode and with the phone stalling at the first boot-up Samsung logo screen.
2. Once I was able to get into recovery mode (verify this... my original issue was that it would simply flash "recovery booting..." and go nowhere.
3. I downloaded the Nougat QE1 firmware from this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...mware-g930a-qe1-android-7-0-6-4-2017-t3617101
4. Flashed above firmware.
5. Rebooted a couple of times and I got into first time setup within Android (I could also tell that it worked because the ATT chime came back after rebooting).
Hope this helps someone out there! Been working on this for a couple days and it is nice that it is now working

Hi, I have an old N8010 16GB which was bought from John Lewis in the UK (an official retailer). The tablet has worked great, however recently it screwed up and got stuck in a bootloop.
So I decided to see if I can try to recover it and that's why I am here. I tried Odin and started putting what I thought is the correct firmware on it, however all the firmwares I try all PASS and seem to install correctly but the device still has a infinte bootloop (it crashes and reboots after the Samsung logo shows). I noticed the PIT file says -8G on one of the firmware files - I guess this means it is for the 8GB version which is clearly not going to work on my 16GB version?
Please can someone guide me on what firmware to download and what to try as I have been trying for 5 hours now and cannot find any way to get it out of this boot loop, I have no problems at all installing firmware as it passes every time with Odin. I am using Odin3 v3.10.7
I'm not sure but I think I need this firmware: N8010XXUCMG1

Hey, I had the same problem recently and I fixed it using the stock firmware (can't post the link due to forum rules) and using a patched Odin 3.14.1 3B.
Hope it helps
Lets hope the OP has fixed the problem in the last 10 months .Unknown as he never came back .
