This is good news!!
At Geekbench, you can find as many as 7 listing showing Android 7.0 running on Galaxy S7. And even more listings for the curvy brother, S7 Edge.
See them pages here.
It's entirely possible Samsung could release the Nougat build this month, otherwise October looks a sure-shot!
Thoughts?

Probably right knowing Samsung
Don't forget after Samsung is done testing it still has to go to the carriers and they do more testing. 2017 sounds right.
My guess would be for December 2017 for us USA users!!! Lol

Any ideas if they'll finally fix the MVNO roaming issue? It stops background data on a lot of apps when it detects you as roaming, regardless it's your own network. This is not a Samsung bug, more like Android, but Samsung made it worse with the way it makes some apps behave when it detects roaming.
Greatttttttt news guys....

No way
There is no way that Samsung will release Android N for any variant of the S5. It's too much work for them when there are too many models of the S6 and S7... By the time the S6 gets N it will be the same time scale it took for Marshmallow to come to the S5... I'm still waiting for my S5 (G901f) to receive Marshmallow in the UK!
Samsung also want you to upgrade... Why would they want you wasting your time on a model that came out 2-3 years ago?
It's a shame that Samsung work this way but you can kind of understand their Strategy.... After all Google only support their Nexus range with firmware updates for 18 months.... But you could look at that at being not too bad and seems to be a similar time frame for Samsung too.

Think newer versions of Andy are supposed to be more backward compatible i.e. work on legacy devices.
We'll (hopefully) get Nougat in one form or another [emoji7]
Although, it (Nougat) doesn't seem to have anything major over MM

Hey everyone
I heard the Android 7.1.1 update for Galaxy S7 & S7 edge is in testing at carriers and is just about to come for us
Anyone heard when exactly ?
The Beta testers will probably get it first. Release date is probably somewhere near february or even march.
I'm starting to seriously doubt if 7.0 will ever come. I rather stick to MM right now as not much dev been going for the Google Pixel.

Because it is only a beta release and AT&T does not allow betas.
Final version is rumored to be released on February or March, and even then, carrier specific releases will probably take longer.

Hey guys!
I don't know if you already heard it but the Galaxy S6 lineup will probably receive Android 8.0. Many Samsung employees confirmed that and there is already a leaked list of devices which will get the update. Today I noticed that not only the S6 was mentioned on that list... the Galaxy Tab S2 will probably receive the update as well! In my opinion it is really great to see that the first premium devices from Samsung will get another update
What do you think?

Maybe we will get Samsung Experience 9.0 with the update. It would be very great to get some S8/S9 UI feauters
If Samsung's track record holds of two major version updates per flagship device, the 2016 Tab S2 should get Oreo. The 2015 may or may not - I guess it depends on whether Sammy is feeling generous.
I'm not sure who would hope their device doesn't get the update? While it's possible Samsung could pull an Apple stunt and kill performance with an Oreo update, that generally hasn't been an issue. In reality, it will just be security patches and support for newer apps. The days of new Android versions bringing sea changes of improvements appear to be in the past.

I agree Samsung seem to give 2 major updates to their flagships and higher spec devices.
The S2(2) should get Oreo. I'd say unlikely the S2(1)will see it.
As a 2015 owner, all I want for the last major update is a stable build without any major bugs. From then on, I'd just like the same build with the security updates. The current Nougat is pretty solid but the screen brightness does keep going up and down on some occasions.
i would love to see something for the 819N, i mean there isn't even any custom roms for that version of the tablet, i hope at least samsung goes oreo for it.

Probably 2016 model can hope for it because it has been shipped with 6.0 and also is not sure...but 2015 model should kill the idea because has been shipped with 5.0.1. Even if we could run oreo Sammy will never give a third major update to a 2015 device, even if the only difference between 2015 and 2016 is the CPU (correct me if i'm wrong)
I think it's crazy how Samsumg abandons its own products. I can understand their budget devices getting updates, but this is their only tablet line. Not to mention they were selling these for $400+ a pop (i got mine out of a pricing error for $200 though).
Just shows you that iPad should be the only tablet product to purchase from here on out... I think the last year and a couple months I've owned this it's been updated a whopping 3 times! Never again will I buy Samsung.

Galaxy S6 Android Oreo Update
Galaxy S6 Android Oreo Update
Samsung still isn’t saying much about its future plans for Android Oreo so we can’t tell you anything with one hundred percent certainty. That said, we can tell you a little bit about Samsung’s history.
The company typically keeps its Galaxy devices upgraded with major Android software updates for two years before killing off support. The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge started on Android Lollipop and they’ve been upgraded to Android Marshmallow and Android Nougat.
The Galaxy S6 celebrated its third birthday in April which means there’s a very good chance it’ll stay put on Android Nougat. After all, Samsung Turkey and Samsung Canada have both left the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge off lists outlining upcoming Android Oreo updates.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge also have disappeared from Samsung’s list of quarterly and monthly security updates. This all but confirms bad news for those of you holding out hope for Oreo. The Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy S6 Active both remain on the list.
There’s also a chance Samsung decides to push a third major update to the Galaxy S6 series.
The company still hasn’t released an official list of devices getting upgraded Android 8.0 Oreo, but we’ve seen unofficial lists appear on Weibo and XDA-Developers.
The list from Weibo includes the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Active while the list from XDA-Developers, which is based on data pulled from the Galaxy Note 8 Oreo update, doesn’t.
T-Mobile’s also seemingly confirmed Android Oreo updates for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5, but nothing is official until Samsung itself confirms the development.
According to multiple Samsung customer service reps, the Galaxy S6 will be getting Android Oreo. The information comes from threads on Reddit and XDA-Forums where posters state they were told that the company is currently working on a Galaxy S6 Android Oreo update behind the scenes.
One customer rep went as far as to say the Galaxy S6 Android 8.0 Oreo update is set to arrive sometime in January or February. That obviously didn’t happen.
Customer service representatives have been known to push bogus information to those asking questions over the phone and online so take this information with an immense grain of salt.
If Samsung does update the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Active with Android Oreo it will inch the company’s software support closer to Apple’s support for the iPhone. Apple typically keeps iPhones updated for four (five now that the iPhone 5s is getting iOS 12) years before kicking them to the curb.
At this point though, Galaxy S6 users shouldn’t be holding their breath.
Galaxy S6 Oreo Release Date
If Samsung decides to release Android 8.0 Oreo for the Galaxy S6, and that’s a huge if, it probably won’t release the software in June.
With the Android Oreo update just now hitting the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, we’re likely months away from a roll out. If there is one.
Samsung Canada’s confirmed Android Oreo support for the Galaxy Xcover4, Galaxy A8, Galaxy J3 Prime, Tab A8 and Tab A10.1. The regional arm says those updates will arrive later in 2018.
It makes no mention of the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge.
Having launched more than two years before than Android Oreo’s release, the Galaxy S6 is not eligible for the Android 8.0 update.
soo wait and see fellaazzz!!!
The S6 never get Oreo officially

This isn't the reason at all, Pie is out for the note 8/9. Problem is T-mobile needs to do testing with their software before it gets out to T-mobile customers.

This IS the point. Regardless of who is doing the testing, the freaking phone doesn't get the update. The Note 7 FE version got it already and we are still waiting. The Note 8 was a flagship a year ago. Updates should come in a month or two, not a year's time regardless of who is testing it. Both TMO and Samsung need to respond faster. Not a problem on my Pixel 3Xl since TMO doesn't need to "test it".

PIE is out for Sprint
Its been three weeks on the testing block and still no update. Its a shame tmobile lacking to update the note 8 knowing this was a flagship phone when it came out two years ago.
It'll be here in days.
Looks like ATT is rolling out as of now. Let's hope T-Mo has it together enough to be in the same ballpark as Sprint and ATT, at least.
T-Mobile begins to rollout Android 9.0 Pie for Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 phones
First Sprint, second AT&T and now T-Mobile is sending Android Pie for Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8 phones that are running on Android 8.0 Oreo.
The latest software update bring Android version 9.0 Pie and Samsung's One UI interface along with new features. Also, the update contains March 2019 security patch including bug fixes and system improvements.
