ASUS ZenFone Max [SD 410] Battery Stats and SOT - Asus Zenfone Max Questions & Answers

When I got my ZenFone Max it was already running Marshmallow 6.0.1 [18.8.26.36] out of box. Thus I never had a chance to test/run Lollipop in it.
I see most of the people here in xda and in other forums as well says that, using this phone in Lollipop gave them better battery and when they update to marshmallow the battery life got worse.
I just want to know what battery stats does this phone give in Lollipop, so if you guys can share your battery stats that would be informative for me. Also if you guys are on Marshmallow then also do share, I would like to see that too.
Thanks.

Here are my battery Stats :

This Zenfone Max is for sure and by far, the best smartphone I've used in my life. Considering that I came from a LG G3 and a BlackBerry Curve 9300. Of course that I did a huge downgrade on CPU, mostly on screen, but the battery as also the SOT, worths for all the others things that I lost... I'm not seeing my self changing for something less than this 5000mAh, considering that this is a dual SIM and I really need it. If using with only on SIM, I believe the SOT can perfectly reaches the 5 days.

battery life improvement on Lollipop

hello,
i've seen this video about comparison of battery life test between KK and LP for the lg G2,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV_3XWEzfic
as i saw, there is a big difference between KK & LP, is that really true ? because as i've seen on some articles, people complaint about battery life drain on LP
so what's your result after using LP on G2, does the battery drain faster ? or it really long lasts as the video shown ?!

My dude, that hype about lollipop having bad battery life is true, but partially. The thing is, I call them "stupid" users who update their android without wiping and then have problems and complain, shout and all the stuff blaming LG for that. You will get the same battery life you get with kitkat IF you clean flash! Factory reset/wipe and then flash it for fresh start and the battery life will be as good, if not better, because I think lollipop manages GPU better so when watching youtube, you get even less battery drain compared to kitkat. I'm not sure tho, but you can not be worried about the battery life on lollipop!
There was definitely a big battery life drop between stock KK and stock/AOSP LP.
I installed and paid for the full version of servicely - which displays which apps are waking up your wakelock and lets you disable them when the display is off.

Battery drains very quickly

Hi all
I noticed that the battery runs out quickly.
It holds only 12 hours in normal use.
While I was at 48 hours with my Huawei mate 8
Is there a solution to this problem?
I have attached the phone version if it can help.
Wait bro, your firmware version is outdated, latest Lollipop firmware is 2.20.40.184, but yours is still running 2.20.40.90, update your firmware first then compare your battery stats from your previous firmware version.
How long is your SoT(Screen on Time)? Well, on a daily usage my Zenfone 2 lasts for up to 6hrs SoT(with wifi browsing, some gaming, 2g/3g texting including standby for almost 12hrs as well) so i think your experiencing average for this kind of handset.
Also note that you've posted on a wrong section, this thread should be posted on the "Q&A, Help, Troubleshooting section".
This phone generally has **** battery life for majority of people, there are every few people who see any decent battery life (like above). There are no solutions for good battery life for this phone.

I wouldn't recommend somebody (even less a new XDA user) to flash a beta firmware. Only the user itself should decide if he /she really wants to try beta software.

Comparing this phone's battery to a Huawei battery is like comparing a Prius to a Tesla. I can go 3 days on my Huawei Ascend Mate 2 but it's a 4000mAh battery and a Snapdragon chip compared to a 3000mAh battery and an Intel chip. The ZF2 battery will never get better unfortunately
I was getting some serious battery drainage on stock rom - I upgraded to the CM13 ROM with Android 6.0.1 - Set it on Root and installed Greenify + Xposed Framework - Smart Booster - Battery Doctor - Configured them all and keep my brightness on low when in doors and automatic when outside. My battery seems to be holding much better now. I haven't used that Stock rom Beta release of 6.0.1 yet so I'm not sure if that'll help. Good luck!
P.S - I only installed the mini version of GApps.

Check for the running apps and disable those that are not of use to you.. There are apps that run in the background, just run those that you think you will be using always.

Disable touch gestures, the ones that let's you double tap to wake it up, I disabled mine and during the night, with wifi on, it only used 1% battery.
Also, disabling LED notifications would help.
To replace the double tap to lock screen I use Greenify's widget, need to find a way to let me wake it up by volume buttons too.
Any other battery saving tips would be great.

But still, that's very good. I probably won't get this low because I have crappy reception at home, but I'll check it anyway.
zenfone 2 is best for performance lag free most of the time .....but battery life sucks.... and about that ferrari and prius thing... my friends sony xperia z series especialy z ultra has awesome battery life it is also quad core processor phone ...it is also a beast phone ...but there stamina mode saves a lot of battery ... 8 to 10 hr SOT is normal for z ultra..... so clearly power managment is very poor for zenfone 2. i am using marshmellow cm 13 .. greenify... .. overnight drop is 3 to 4 %... but as soon as i start using it battery starts to drain quickly..... i have searched whole xda forum.. but everybody is talking about wakelocks, thats fine but during actual use also it is consuming a lot of battery....i am tired of searching

Why LG G4 Batterys Su*ks

Hey all. It is my 2nd G4 device and 6 months old (first one died). Recently i realized that battery drains a lot on normal usage. I also disabled useless functions to avoid battery draining. But nothing helped. So, i decided to download an app called AccuBattery from play store. I've used this app for 3 days in order to be sure of the result. Here it is. Estimated battery capacity is 2500mAh. 500 mAh drop for just 6 months.
This is very unlikely. I have it for about 6 months now and I noticed that battery life is fluctuating. What you are getting is an estimation based on whatever Android is supplying. I've had 2 days between 2 charges for a few times when Android or any of the Google Apps did not go wild on it. I have a second battery (the one that comes with official LG battery kit) and I did not have significant lower battery time with this one (it has 2900 mAh). If your G4 is international and you are not afraid of the bootloop, then unlock the bootloader, install Imperium (or Genisys) and enjoy far better and constant battery life. I've had enough Android devices to not blame the hardware (even a Nexus). I have always had significant battery life with a well made custom Rom than with the official one.

I have installed SimpleGX kernel that based on battery and overall speed improvements which is awesome. Also did not see any terrible kind of lag or freeze on this kernel compare to the stock one. Anyways
You can always get better results with a custom kernel. I think only the S6 is a little better at managing apps, but my work S6 does only have work email and Ingress running at all times.

Do not take these as granted. As I said , that app cannot know exactly how many mAh the battery has. It estimates this based on information found in the system.

Yeah it estimates. But the fact is that we can not say it estimates wrongly. It gives approximate results

About battery SM-N910U

Hi, i have SM-N910U device and the original new battery. But, why my battery draining so fast? Currently i using MM 6.0.1 official. Not rooted device. I’ve done lot of things to keep battery stable. But it seems not working. The battery drained so fast. This is malfunctioned of seri U or what? Thanks for the answer
What do you mean by "original new battery"? Do you mean the original battery that came with the phone? Or you have recently purchased an "original new battery"?
If you have recently purchased a battery it is almost guaranteed not to be an original Samsung battery as they do not make them any more - it is probably fake. Buy a RavPower battery and see how it goes. Same if you're still using the battery that originally came with the phone - get a RavPower. You might also want to try a factory reset and set your phone up clean again - this made a big difference to mine about a year ago when my battery was draining fast.

Three possible curlpits: Your apps, the battery, or the firmware
Battery—fake battery will die fast, according to what others say
Apps—some apps are battery hungry, so find a way to hibernate those with Greenify or Hibernation Manager
Software—Android 6 is the last and worst update for performance and battery life. While it's on KitKat (4.4), its battery life was awesome; fast forward to Lollipop (5.0.1–5.1.1), from 12 hours of Screen On Time (SOT), it got decreased to 8 hours; and fast forward again to Marshmallow (6.0.1), it became from 8 hours to 3 hours. No matter what kernel or battery-saving methods you use, it's futile for a firmware that rots a powerful phone. The only way to fix this is by either using a custom ROM (Refined Nougat, Note 5/7 ported ROMs, etc.), or downgrading your firmware. (Installing KitKat with the latest bootloader prevents you from downgrading).
With a new battery on MM stock and unrooted I was getting 6 hours SOT (Exynos). Dropped off now after using the battery for 18 months, but soon upgrading to Note 9 or 10 anyway.

I never really expected it to come to the carrier version's of the v20 (vs995,H918,H910), but they could have at least did it for the US unlocked version US996.

I really hope it does.. Since others have been saying it improves battery life.. Oreo has really done a number on my battery.. My OEM battery gets roughly an hour under light load, I got to the point of where i made my own battery for my phone, i took the board from an old v20 battery and attached a 7000 mAh Li-ion battery to it to get at least 9 hours of heavy load.. i'd really love to see better life out of the battery and hopefully better system performance too

that is really off i get like 8 hours of medium use out of mine light use it goes 12 hours i just have a standard 4200 mAh battery and im on OREO...
I have it on my F800K, it's working fairly great. I even managed to root it.
We know that it's possible to crossflash with LGUP developer edition. If someone that is confortable with all of that (and knows how to go back if a brick happens) is motivated to test that out, it'd be neat.
I can't since I only own a Korean one.

It's a fairly involved process. You have to downgrade to Nougat using LGUP, root using DirtySanta and then upgrade back up to Pie without flashing aboot and abootback (using LGUP "developer edition" in PARTITION DL mode). Finally you have to flash the correct Kernel.
Only issue so far is that the camera can't autofocus anymore. I do not take pictures with that phone so I don't care, but could be a deal breaker for you.
I'm not sure yet if it's a Kernel issue or a root issue. I need to re-downgrade and upgrade again without root to make sure the camera works with the same Kernel but without root.
I might make a detailed guide when I get the chance.

Do you have a link to the new Perfine battery please? I stocked up on their 4200mah's - I have 3 in rotation and 3 new ones in the drawer - I'll keep using the V20 for watching media while travelling when I eventually get a new daily driver. I get 6-8 hours SOT over 36-48 hours on Nougat.
I jumped from the V20 to the A71 . I added a 4000 battery in the V20 , but she is stock still on 8... ill see what plops down but its a good back up phone !! still works fine ..
