To my dismay, tonight I noticed that my screen has a dim spot under the glass that when viewed dead on is dim but when viewed at a side angle is brighter than the surrrounding pixels. It doesn't appear to be dust and it reminds me a little when my BB Storm got moisture under the screen because it had dim and bright spots although in that case they were dim with bright edges. Is this something that Asus will accept as an RMA? Is there a different solution?

Why not just ask Asus.
I can do that. I was just wondering if this was a flaw seen before. It's very small, think bigger than stuck pixels. Maybe the size of grain of sand. What I did odd is that when viewed dead on, it's grey but as I tilt the tablet to the side, the flaw becomes bright. I only noticed it when I tilted my screen because it became obvious. Then I looked dead on and what looked like a dust smudge was apparent.
Guess I'll be requesting an RMA after my upcoming vacation.

Just noticed my screen has a little black dot. When the screen is off I can see it so its not a stuck pixel. Too big anyway for that. Its noticeable on white screens and internet. Do you think Samsung will allow a return for this 1 spec of dust. Its annoying as hell
Is it possible to move or to the corner or vacuum it out i wonder?
Anyone else got dust under the screen? Check in sunlight with the screen off and you might be surprised.
P.S I'm trying to take a photo of it but need a super macro lens. Other than this happy with my White i9500.

You should definitely return it if it has dust under the screen. That's much worse than even a dead pixel.

Damn Problem is I order this from USA and I live in Spain.. Going to have to live with it I guess. Poor quality control on Samsungs behalf.
Hi,
My note 3 screen seems to have a few darker spots when the screen is off. I only see it when viewed from an angle. When you look straight to the screen you don't see it. I noticed it when I placed it under my desk lamp. I am not sure if this is normal or a faulty screen?
Thanks
Same problem

Hi,
Yes I have noticed some small dark spots and some small thin dark lines on my galaxy note 3 screen as well when it is switched off and when looking at it under a lamp at certain angles. I am not sure either if it defective or just the way they are???
Screen Protector?
If you have one it may be causing the dark spots.
If you don't have one, then put one to hide existing dark spots and add new dark spots
Hello friend!!!
I ve got the same exact problem with the dark dots and I see them under my desk lamp! Was your phone a defect or is it normal?i be got 3 days the phone and i m so anxious about this!!
Just notice it today after change of screen protector. Previous screen protector no such issue.
Look at the left gap.
Thanks.

I uploaded new pics taken from ipad.
When i open a black color app. I dont see the green or red light at the gap. Screen protector doesnt cover that gap line too. But it did cover the right part. Where there no light bleeding.
:crying:
There seems to be a problem with your screen. I don't think it has anything to do with the gap. Looks like you have an entire column of dead pixels. The gap (if you have it) is about 4mm away from the edge of the screen, so if you did have light bleeding due to the gap it would be away from the edge of the visible screen.
I run the test. No dead pixel. Could it be effect from glass protector?
You can't have backlight bleed on an AMOLED display. There is no backlight.
Hello everybody,
I just notice today that my screen has brighter frame all over the edges. It is not very noticeable, i can even say that it is faint, but it is there. And it it constant all over the edges so is not light bleed ( i know what light bleed is, i had many devices with light bleed) . It is more noticeable on white or light grey background . I think it is the glue that keep the digitizer and display togheter.
The phone is 1 year old.
It is a common issue or is just mine? Ca you take a look at yours a little with a little attetion please?
Best regards.
I attached a edited photo that replicate the issue.

You sure it's not your screen protector not sticking on the sides perfectly? The 2.5D glass leaves a "halo" effect when you put a screen protector on.
No , it is not the screen protector , i'm 100% sure.
